Lady Antebellum Will Debut New Tune on ‘American Idol’ Next Week
By: Amanda Hensel tasteofcountry.com
We’ll be on the edges of our seats watching ‘American Idol‘ next week, as the remaining Top 5 perform Wednesday, followed by the results show on Thursday, May 5. But country fans who cling to Scotty McCreery will not only get to see him sing. They’ll also receive a fresh dose of Lady Antebellum on Thursday night.
The trio is due to perform a brand-spanking-new song, according to Twitter. “SO excited to perform a new song next Thurs on Idol! Hope you guys can tune in!” Lady A tweeted this morning.
Additionally, ‘Idol’ judge Jennifer Lopez will take the stage alongside rapper Pitbull to perform her latest track, ‘On the Floor.’
We’ll have our fingers, toes, arms and legs crossed that our favorite Josh Turner soundalike Scotty McCreery is able to hold onto his top spot next week, but even if not, he’ll be out on the road for the 2011 ‘American Idol’ Tour this summer with the rest of the gang, including the handful who have been kicked off in recent weeks.
Lady Antebellum are currently wrapping up their third studio album, the follow-up to ‘Need You Now.’ The premiere single, ‘Just a Kiss,’ will reportedly make its world debut on May 2.

Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood Pen New Tune With Parachute Frontman Will Anderson
By: Nashville Kat tasteofcountry.com
Lady Antebellum‘s Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood have co-written a song called ‘Kiss Me Slowly’ with their pop-rock friend Will Anderson, frontman for the band Parachute. It will be on the upcoming Parachute album, ‘The Way It Was,’ which will be released on May 17.
Kelley and Haywood are actually part of the new video, too. They introduce it by saying, “What’s going on, everybody? My name is Charles Kelley, I’m Dave Heywood and we are from Lady Antebellum and we wanna let you know about a new video and song. Yes, a song we wrote with Parachute called ‘Kiss Me Slowly.’ Hope you guys like it, and here’s the video.”
Anderson usually only writes with his bandmates but after a songwriting session with Kelley and Haywood, the pop rocker saved the tune for Parachute, saying, “We write together in general. Then one of the songs we wrote I liked so much, I just grabbed it. ‘We’re going to take that for our band.’ It’s fun to get to write with friends.”
Anderson blogs, “We’re incredibly excited to announce our new song and video for Kiss Me Slowly!!! This song came about when I got invited by my good friends Charles Kelly and Dave Haywood from Lady A to write a song together with hopes of getting it cut by a specific singer songwriter we had in mind. However, once the song was finished I liked it so much that I made them promise not to give it to anyone else. I took it to the band to see what they thought, and in the end we decided it was exactly what our record needed. The rest is history!”
‘Kiss Me Slowly’ is now available for purchase on iTunes. Congrats to the Lady A boys for getting a little slice of the pie as well!

Lady Antebellum Releases First Song From New CD Reigning CMA and ACM Vocal “Group of the Year” Lady Antebellum released the lead single “Just A Kiss” off their forthcoming third Capitol Nashville studio album to radio today. Lady A will also host a live web chat through Facebook and ladyantebellum.com/live to talk about their new music on Tues., May 3 at 12:30pm CT, before debuting the song live on FOX’s “American Idol” on Thurs., May 5 at 8:00P ET/7:00P CT. “We love writing songs from personal experience, and this is definitely one of those songs,” explains Scott. “There is so much excitement at the beginning of a new relationship…all the butterflies and that optimistic feeling that this person could be ‘the one.’ This song is about one of those times when your brain kicks in and tells your heart ‘good things are worth waiting for.’” “One of the best things about writing for us is that we have the option to speak from both the man and woman’s perspective because Charles and Hill can share lead vocals,” said Haywood. “This is actually the very last song we wrote for the album. We were about six songs into recording and someone had this idea, so we sat down to write it. Then we took it to our producer Paul Worley, and a few days later we were recording it.” “The day we wrote this song was one of those days that renewed my faith in the bond the three of us have as songwriters,” adds Kelley. “It came so easily, and it reminded me of the early days when we first started out, and we’d spend hours in my brother Josh’s house writing songs. Everyone keeps asking if we feel pressure after the success of ‘Need You Now,’ and we are trying to not even think about the new album or these songs in those terms. We are just writing about what we are going through in our lives, and we hope that country music fans continue to connect with them.” Contact: jerry@nashville.com

Lady Antebellum's Hllary Scott gets engaged Tuesday, July 5, 2011 – Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott is engaged. She announced via an interview with People Magazine that she and drummer Chris Tyrell are getting married.
The two met during the Tim McGraw tour in early 2010.
Lady A's current hit, Just a Kiss, was apparently inspired by their blossoming relationship.
Tyrell, 24, proposed over the holiday weekend as the sun was setting over a lake in East Tennessee, according to People. "Chris proposed exactly the way I've always dreamed," Scott said. "Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck overlooking a lake in East Tennessee. We had just been on a hike and - in our workout clothes - he hit the knee. We feel so blessed by God that He sent us each other, and we are looking so forward to forever together."
No wedding date was set. Tyrell currently is drumming for Eden's Edge on Brad Paisley's H20 II tour, while Lady A is doing a headlining tour.

Lady Antebellum Give Fans 'More' From 'Own the Night'Amazon With just days remaining until the release of their highly-anticipated third album, 'Own the Night,' out September 13, Lady Antebellum have released 'Wanted You More' to iTunes as an album preview track. The tune, written by the trio along with four of their road band members, currently sits at No. 10 on iTunes' all-genre digital download chart. On writing the melancholy mid-tempo, Lady A's Charlies Kelley recalls, "We started that idea during a soundcheck out on the road. So, we wrote that with honestly all the guys that are out there in our band on the road. So it's a seven [member] co-write. There was something really strong about that lyric, 'Wanted You More.' "We were in the studio, and this is kind of how these little great little melody things come out and different kind of hooks come out while you're in there working on these songs," he adds. "Slim, our guitar player, started playing that little guitar riff that opens up the song. And we knew that we wanted that to be a signature of the song. So production wise, that's probably the song I'm most proud of on the record. Paul [Worley, producer] and all the players did a really great job on that one." Following the success of their recent No. 1, 'Just a Kiss,' the trio has released 'We Owned the Night' as the official second radio single from the collection. The tune, which sits at No. 21 only three weeks after its release, is another that Charles and fellow band member Dave Haywood had a hand in writing. Charles explains why it was the logical follow up to 'Just a Kiss.' "One of the main reasons is the live feel to it. It had kind of an urgency and an excitement to it that we wanted to represent this record. 'Just A Kiss' is very Lady A, and 'We Owned the Night' is kind of a departure for us in a way, just the sound of it is very mandolin-heavy and it's got a lot of different organic elements, which is really exciting for us to go down that road. But I think more than anything, the message of it -- owning the night --we thought it would be a great, great thing." In promotion for the release, the trio will embark on an intense media blitz, which includes television appearances on the 'Today Show' (Sept. 13), the 'Ellen DeGeneres Show' (Sept. 16), the 'Tonight Show With Jay Leno' (Sept. 16) and 'CBS Sunday Morning' (Sept. 25). Lady A will also provide the musical entertainment for the Oct. 1 'Saturday Night Live' episode. Lady Antebellum will resume their heavy travel schedule on November 11 for their latest headlining tour. Click here for dates and ticket information.

Lady Antebellum Plan for Growing FamiliesThe three members of Lady Antebellum -- Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood -- have come a long way since their debut single, 'Love Don't Live Here' hit the airwaves in 2007. Back then, they were three single 20-something aspiring artists, content to live the carefree life while crossing the country promoting their self-titled debut album. Fast forward five years, and two of the members, Charles and Hillary, are enjoying marital bliss with their respective spouses, while Dave works on wedding plans with his fiancée, Kelli Cashiola. It's a change Hillary says they are all happy to embrace. "We've always had a really close friendship from the beginning, but I think we've seen each other grow," the recent bride (to drummer Chris Tyrell) explains to Country Weekly. "I'll speak for myself that I'm in a much happier place. We're excited to all be going through the same things quickly after the other, so it's really fun. Love is in the air." Charles, who was the first to walk down the aisle in 2009, when he wed publicist Cassie McConnell, says having his bandmates also in committed relationships makes it easier for him. "They can relate to me now," he says. "I was the first one to get married and it was very interesting coming onto a bus with two single people, so it's nice [that they are] going through the same thing." Now that they have each found their soul mates, the obvious progression is to add children to the mix. "We're gonna figure out the next step when kids come, what that's going to be. We'll stick them in the bottom bay of the bus so you don't hear them when they cry," Charles jokes. "[We'll] make a really wicked nursery under there," Hillary adds. "The family's grown." For now, the trio are enjoying their current status as a multi-platinum-selling act, nominated for Best Country Album at the Grammys as well as four just-announced ACM Awards, including Top Vocal Group. "I think you have to enjoy where you are in that moment," maintains Hillary. "I have a lot of great memories being single on the road with these guys, but I'm also so excited about starting a life with my husband and the fact that it's a new chapter." Lady A will kick off the 2012 leg of their Own the Night tour tonight (January 27), in Tulsa, Okla., with Darius Rucker and Thompson Square sharing opening act duties.

Lady Antebellum New Album Already in the Works
Lady Antebellum's latest album, 'Own the Night,' is only a few months old, but the trio (comprised of Dave Haywood, Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley) reveal they are already hard at work on their next set of tunes.
"We probably have at least a dozen songs already, whether they're outside songs or ones we've written," Hillary tells Billboard.com. "Songwriting is such therapy and such a release for us, and it's a way for us to not get caught up in the madness of our schedules. We really do write a lot. Whether we're at home or on the road, we'll find time to write."
The threesome, who took home their fifth Grammy award earlier this month, for Best Country Album, say that even with the success of their latest record, they hope to do things a little differently for their next project.
"We're going to take our time with this one," Hillary notes, "because ['Own the Night'], as proud as we are of it, we all feel like we rushed it a little bit. So we're going to just settle in and write and write and write. We may try to go in [to the studio] at some point this year, just to try some things, but honestly it's hard to tell. We're going to really wait until we're ready."
Lady A, who also won the Grammy in 2011 for Best Country Album (for their multi-platinum-selling 'Need You Now'), admit that the acknowledgement from the industry for their tireless efforts is a mixed blessing. "These awards and these accolades really do spur you on and inspire you and make you go, 'OK, we need to work hard and earn it again when the next record comes out and is eligible," Hillary adds. "But we can't over-think it, either. We haven't made it this far by overthinking it. So when we get into those environments, whether in the songwriting room or the recording studio, we just have to let all of that go and really not think so much."
The three singer-songwriters will have to juggle penning new tunes with their packed concert schedule. They are currently in the middle of their Own the Night tour, with Darius Rucker and Thompson Square serving as opening acts.

Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood Marries Kelli CashiolaRick Diamond, Getty Images Congratulations are in order for Lady Antebellum‘s Dave Haywood and his new wife Kelli Cashiola, who reportedly married Saturday night (April 14), presumably in their hometown of Nashville, Tenn. Details about the big event are still forthcoming, but we have it on good word that it was quite a magical evening. Based on reports — post-wedding buzz via social media sites — the nuptials were “straight out of a movie,” and guests seem to have had a great time. “Back from secret wedding location,” one wedding guest tweeted, adding, “What a Wedding! The whole thing was straight out of a movie. Congrats Dave and Kelli!” Another Nashville based trio, the band Mockingbird Sun, were apparently in attendance, too. “The Dave Haywood/Kelli Cashiola wedding was AWESOME. like a movie. wish them the very best!” they shared via Twitter just after 10PM CT. Early on Saturday, Lady A singer Charles Kelley was hard at work in the studio in Music City. “Working on a new tune,” he posted from the band’s account. “It’s a great day to be home and in the studio!” Haywood is the last member of the trio to wed. He proposed to longtime friend Cashiola just before Christmas 2011 in a romantic and especially timely way, asking “Will you marry me?” spelled out with Christmas lights. Frontlady Hillary Scott is also a newlywed, having just said “I do” to drummer Chris Tyrrell in January of this year. Charles Kelley walked down the aisle in 2009. Lady Antebellum are expected to return to the road in May.

Lady Antebellum To Open For Bruce Springsteen
Lady Antebellum will open for American music icon Bruce Springsteen on July 14th for a sold-out concert at Hyde Park as part of this year’s Hard Rock Calling festival in London, UK. “It’s on our bucket list,” exclaims Lady A’s Hillary Scott. For her bandmate, Charles Kelley, it’s an opportunity of a lifetime, especially because he’s a super-big fan of The Boss. “I’ve seen him several times,” Charles says. “Every time he comes to Nashville, I see him, and he’s one of my biggest influences…it’s a huge honor. Big influence, [and] one of the best songwriters of all time.” The band are taking their Own The Night 2012 World Tour overseas beginning with a two-night stand in Dublin on June 10th and 11th.
One song they’ll be sure to play in concert while they’re overseas is their latest hit, “Dancin’ Away With My Heart,” from their nearly double-platinum Own The Night album.

Lady Antebellum Tour Provides 'Newfound Excitement'
Lady Antebellum's Own the Night tour continues, taking the trio all over the United States, Canada and Europe, which includes a date with Bruce Springsteen. The hectic traveling may result in some dark under-eye circles, but those are badges of pride.
"No rest for the weary," Charles Kelley tells CMT. "We love it, though. It's fun. Before, we were always opening up for artists, so now to finally be headlining in arenas ... we were even asking if we could add dates. We're in the groove now. It's such a different feeling of touring when you're actually the headliners. We have a newfound excitement for touring."
The trio are especially excited about heading overseas, even though they know they will have their work cut out for them. "We're more of a baby band over there," Charles continues. "People overseas just know us from the Need You Now album, or even just a couple of songs, which will be kind of exciting for us. You almost feel like, 'All right, you've gotta get over there and win them over.' This is the first time that most of them will have seen us, so I think there's gonna be a cool energy when we head over there for that."
Lady A find performing much easier now, with three platinum albums and nine Top 10 tunes to their credit. "I think having a few more singles on the radio, it just helps you pace out the shows so much more," Charles explains. "When we first started, when you had one or two songs that people know of yours from the radio, and then you have to pace out an hour and a-half show. It's really hard. Especially when you only have one or two albums. So now having three albums of material ... you can really feel like you're hitting them over the head a lot more with songs they know and can sing along to. I just feel like it keeps it much more of a high-energy show throughout the night."
The threesome will play for a decidedly smaller crowd later this month, when they perform a special show for the juniors and seniors of Henryville High School in Henryville, Ind., followed by a charity ball in the small town, to raise money in the wake of a damaging storm.
"That started with the idea to go and play a prom," Dave Haywood explains. "Hillary [Scott] had thought of this about a year and a-half ago, when we were in the studio recording 'Dancin' Away With My Heart.' It's actually turned into something a lot bigger than that. Henryville had that terrible devastation from the tornadoes months ago, and a couple of high schools around the area sent in videos. They wanted for us to be able to come and play their [Henryville's] prom. So we're heading there for a special event for the high school, and then we're actually able to do something a little bigger and open it up to the whole community."
With their traveling schedule, it may seem like the three bandmates wouldn't have time to even think about a new album, but they actually say it's the ideal time to focus on their next project. "If you pulled out our phones, every phone's got about four or five ideas in progress at all times," shares Dave. "We have a mobile studio that we take on the road ... So we do probably 90 percent of our writing on there."
"We've written probably about 20 or 25 [songs], but we probably have 10 that we're really excited about, and we'll keep writing," adds Charles. "It's so funny. You always love the newest thing you've written, so we have to put them all together and really live with them."
Lady Antebellum will head to Florida this weekend for a series of shows in Jacksonville, Tampa and West Palm Beach.
