Laminated wood is dangerous now?
I did read a while back that some of the granite countertops that people have been installing and installing and installing have turned out to have low levels of radiation. Depends on where they mined the granite I think.
This week I'm just hoping to actually get my "new" car back...it's still at the dealership ...I got to drive it one day and since then I've been driving a loaner. First it was the stability light...turns out it was a factory recall so they did that....but then they decided it was cranking slow so they checked the battery and one cell wasn't charging so they replaced the battery....but then a brand new factory recall came out on the transmission so they had to wait for the info to come from the factory on the fix for that ....which isn't as big a deal as it sounds....they only did one ground instead of two and if the connection becomes messed up, you lose power and with the loss of power, you lose the tranny....so that got fixed but then they decided that the ABS computer wasn't communicating with the main car computer no matter what they tried so they put in a trouble ticket to the factory again (all of this is under factory warranty so it's paid for and covered by Ford ...the car only has 17,000 miles on it)...and Ford said we don't know so just replace the ABS computer so then we had to wait for the new computer from the factory....which came yesterday afternoon and I'm hoping it's actually getting installed and working today...then it has to get transferred back to CarMax (where I have the free loaner from and where it's also under a 30 day warranty from them) and hopefully, cross my fingers, I'll get Sally back tomorrow.
Wouldn't that be awesome? : )

Real work that you get paid for vs fake work (gym) that you pay for. another thing that makes you go hmmmmm.

This thing is on my mind...blocking everything else.
I used to be a young man once.
I had a friend named David that had my back all through childhood.
Dave was the one that introduced me to my wife...said she was a prude.
All because that she wanted nothing to do with "that"...she is a prude.
He looked like David Lee Murphy...women flocked to him like buzzards.
His type women anyway...suddenly I must run...be back later.
This is a long story!

Michael,
The more I hear about your lovely wife, the more I like her. : )
I'm no stranger to what guys say to their buddy when he's not as interested in spending all his time going out partying with them...like they usually do. My ex is a good guy but before we dated/lived together, he'd been a one night guy for a long time. Had his drinking buddies. Worked in a bar too and sometimes as a bouncer at other places. Needless to say, a couple of his buddies weren't up for a change of the status quo from him and they said all the things that guys say when they want a girl gone from their buddies life. One of them tried to take it even further by showing up with different women for my ex after we were living together. None of it worked because it was my ex's choice to be where he was...he chased me. We're still friends ....of a sort....some things are best from a distance....but I'll hear from him now and then when he has something he wants to tell me.
Trying to remember if he's still in touch with his old buddy who tried so hard to break us up but it doesn't seem likely. He hadn't really had anything in common with him for years when we broke up (we were together for 7 years and by then his buddy had been married and divorced and married and divorced and married and divorced and ....was there a 4th wife in that 7 years....I don't think so....I think he just slept with/lived with the rest.)

I had to read your post a few times Jo...to let it sink in. My what a tangled web we weave...the stories that could and should be told...I love listening and wanna hear more. I need to tell you about the place that we owned in Memphis for awhile...floozies knocking on the door asking for the last owner for months after.

I'm gonna need some more details Michael. In the first neighborhood I lived in when I left home (I was 17 but was out of high school), my apartment was formerly inhabited by a low level pimp. Don't think he must have been very successful but the neighborhood was right for it. Lots of people passed out drunk on the sidewalk the first week of the month. Lady next door was an ex-con who'd done her time because she'd killed someone in the ring. People across the street had non contact sex with each other from their facing upstairs windows. Another lady across the street was an alcoholic who had a guy follow her home from the package store one night and rape her. Then he tried to break into my apartment but the cops scared him off. Closest unsolved murder was a block away though. A lot of American Indians....the tribes where there are so few of them left that they get government stipends instead of having a reservation. Girl in the front of the house I lived in (it was divided into two apartments) had a crazy ex who hacked at the bathroom door with his hunting knife one night while we were hiding in there with their three year old from him one night...and her sister....now that's a whole other story. I lost a car (sugar in my gas tank) and got shot at by her ex. Got worse though. Her ex tracked her and her new boyfriend for months before the night he attacked the new boyfriend and cut off his ear...which gave the new boyfriend the knowledge that he was going to kill him before it was over...and the ex ended up strangled and dead that night. Then his 'hood buddies put the hit out on the new boyfriend and he had to have a new identity and a new life. Lost his plumbing business and his home. 17....not a age I think I'll repeat. There are so many reasons I fully appreciate my nice everyday life.

I was thinking that your neighborhood was an exception... except the exception was you. All that I can say is... bless your heart...no one should have to endure this pain...an eternal one. I know that these events have helped form you into the person that you are today...we should all be worried about other people. I think that is one of the biggest things to lose in relationships...trust...when you lose it...you kinda lose it all...for awhile. Jo...I just deleted a whole line...because what can a person say...sorry? I prefer Congratulations Jo...you made it sister! You have endured more than your share...and probably have more tests to take in the future. But right now...I am praying hard...that Gods light is shining on you...making you smile.

Your not interrupting any conversation. Michael and I have known each other online for years. We're both conversationalists.

Michael, I can always use all the blessings I can find....and God is definitely shining down on me. He always has been. I was just taking a stroll through part of my past. I kept walking forward and after awhile a girl I worked with decided to get married and I got her old apartment for the same rent. I had the sweetest landlord...he was an old man in his 80's who lived on the main floor of the house and I lived in the basement apartment. There was an inside door to his part of the house which locked on his side and when it was time to read the electric meter each month, he'd open the door and call down the stairway and ask me to fill out the meter card for him. Then he'd hand me a 5 stick pack of Juicy Fruit gum to thank me. Such a sweetheart. There's always good in with the bad...that's life...a never ending surprise.

Jeff, Awesome. I see Michael has changed the poll question on this thread again...so I voted that you would indeed get a meet and greet with Taylor.
