Jim Dandy and the Beatles as influences....I can see some fans on this board. : )
That's a very good article and the live concert link at the end...I'll have to come back to listen to it when I have more time since it's an hour and forty five minutes long.

::)Blackberry Smoke is keeping the Southern Rock Genre alive.
My ex Brother In Law...the one who split for Thailand... used to be good friends with Levon Helm and the Hawk during The Band era.
He introduced me to Levon once at his place ...I didn't even know who he was at the time.
I do know that they grew their smoke in the blackberry patch though!

I wouldn't have heard of them either if not for seeing some of my Facebook friends talking about going to one of their live shows. I kept reading about them on Facebook until i decided to check them out on YouTube.

I got the new Blackberry Smoke album at Barnes and Noble today! I haven't listened to it yet, but I will let everyone know what I though of it once I do.

They sound like they have Red Dirt all over them and are a bit long in the tooth.
They are one of those bands that you better catch soon...
Probably a warm up band for a headliner...I certainly would go!

Lots of great songs on the new album... Southern rock and several country songs actually. I will try to post some tomorrow when I have time. Kora has already posted one song (Let Me Help You To The Door).
