I've seen NO evidence Youtube has hurt musicians' profits - on the contrary what I've noticed is Youtube has helped spur sales.

I would say it has probably helped as well. I dont know how many albums it has sold, but my guess is that it has sold a bunch of digital downloads.

sidenote: CD baby is a place where I've ordered CD's in the past. They represent independent artists and you used to be able to type in your favorite artist and they'd give you suggestions for artists who were similiar. Haven't done it in a long time.
