I just read at country weekly that Lynn Anderson has passed away. Once I figure out how to paste articles on my Kindle I will post the article.

May God bless the Anderson's...such a great Female Artist! Kim...I have a Kindle also...just got it in July...there it sits all ready to go...but I don't know how to use it. It fits in my back pocket...so I can tote it easily and still read it...but not too big so I don't have to carry something. I suppose I should get a fancy fone...but no...that is not for me...I still love my desktop with a 32 inch screen about 2 foot away.

I've always liked Lynn Anderson. I'm sorry to hear that. I have a couple autographed photos from her...in the early 90's...she was sweet. She was also the real deal when it came to ranching and such. She was living in New Mexico around Santa Fe on a ranch. I think a lot of celebs live around there like Michael Murphey. My mom used to sing right along to "Rose Garden" on the radio.

My dad absolutely loved "Rose Garden" and would go around singing it.
I have the old Kindle which only lets you connect with Amazon's Kindle library.

Mom would sing that song along with a host of others. My Kindle is new today...but tomorrow is another story altogether. Once I figure something out...there is another learning curve.

You and me both Michael. I'm trying to learn the Ipad now. Mostly it's user friendly but I still haven't figured out how to add to favorites yet.

I did have the iPad 2, but I dropped it on the sidewalk at work and busted the screen. It still worked, but it was nearly five years old and I had been thinking about getting a new one anyway. Now I have the first generation iPad Air, which is not the latest model but is quite a bit newer than the one I had. This one will sync with my Fitbit and the old one wouldn't. Plus it has a better camera.

Yeah, it's Miranda ...bummer about dropping your other iPad. I've dropped so many electronics. Good reason to get a new one. Are you still walking everyday? So....any tips on learning my iPad ?

Yes I am still walking every day! I walked 17,000 steps today. One day I did 21,000. A couple weeks ago I earned my 250 mile badge from Fitbit and now I am participating in some challenges with other Fitbit users. The only advice I have would be to look up tips for saving the battery on iPad/iPhone. Other than that, there's not much else you need to know. It's pretty easy. I use mine all the time at home and at work, far more than my cell phone. Between iMessage and Facebook Messenger I can pretty much text anybody I want. Plus I've got all the phone numbers and e-mail addresses for my work contacts in it. I've also got two banking apps for local banks where I have accounts, which I find super convenient and a lot easier than reconciling my checkbook with a paper statement every month. I've also just started using the calendar for appointments/meetings here lately. I didn't really realize you could use it as a planner until this past year even though I've had an iPad since 2011. LOL I also have the Kindle and iBooks apps and an app to download library ebooks. You would like those Jo.
