I think it's awesome your going to the Opry for your anniversary. How many years have you been married now?
I haven't been to Nashville since I was a kid so I'm sure it's completely different now.
Do you have any idea who'll be playing on the Opry when your there?
Any chance it might be Travis? : )

Thanks ! It will be our 9th anniversary. The schedule is not posted yet of who's playing .... Travis playing would just be too good to be true, and you know what they say about that It will be an honor to see anyone !

Jodie, I'm not sure where you are in Canada but it's a very long drive to Nashville from pretty much anywhere up north. Is it just the two of you traveling or a bigger family group? I spent so much time traveling and moving in the first 40 years of my life that I think I'm just pretty much done. I was 40 when we bought our house (our first house) and it was the 40th time I'd moved in my life. Now I enjoy other people's travels through pictures and stories. I do so enjoy staying put.

Have fun! I've never been to Nashville and I probably live closer to it than anyone on these boards aside from Michael. I would love to go someday.

So so cool Jodie...there is way to much to see in just one visit...and something gets lost in the shuffle.
I don't know your itinerary but you will learn a lot from the tours...they are pretty great.
Personally I like the places that are quiet...like Springhill Cemetery...and Centennial park.
A walk along the Cumberland is really relaxing...the riverboat is fun also...and you eat!
If you have the time a visit to Kitty Wells museum would be in order...it is in Madison.
Imagine if you will...a hole in the wall...dusty...dirty...and filled with so much memorabilia.
Probably last handled by the artist that donated it...plus it is nice and quiet.

Thank you for all of the suggestions. Printed Relaxing and quiet is a key factor. We are not big on hustle and bustle. We may just get a little close to James Otto as we are doing the backstage tour after the show !!!!!!!!
