abc.soapsindepth.com/2011/06/braun-headed-back-to-gh.htmlBreaking News: Braun Headed Back To GH! Tamara Braun (ex-Reese, ALL MY CHILDREN; ex-Carly, GENERAL HOSPITAL) will be exiting DAYS OF OUR LIVES as Taylor in the coming months, and the Emmy winner already has her next gig lined up: multiple sources confirm to Soaps In Depth that she's returning to GH! Rest assured, Laura Wright fans. We hear that Carly's current portrayer is in no danger of being replaced by her predecessor. Rather, Braun will be playing a new character when she returns to Port Charles this fall! Of course, this won't be the first past Carly to come back in the form of a new character. Sarah Joy Brown, who originated the role in 1996 before Braun took over in 2001, stepped into the stilettos of Claudia Zacchara in 2008. And Braun already has experience in playing a different character on a soap she's already called home: Prior to her current DAYS gig, the actress played Ava for 6 months in 2008, even winning a Supporting Actress Emmy for her performance!

Billy "Killer" Miller Re-Ups at Young and Restless!
By Jamey Giddens June 17, 2011
How's this for a perfect start to Daytime Emmy weekend? CBS Soaps in Depth tweeted in the wee hours of the morning that one of our fav-or-ite soapers—and one of the nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actor (he won in 2010)— Billy Miller has renewed his contract with The Young and the Restless!
According to SID, the dude Daytime Confidential's Jillian Bowe christened "Killer Miller" because of his penchant for MURDERING every scene (in an oh-so-good way), signed on for another year of bringing us the sexy, rowdy, passionate Billy Abbott. Man it feels good to write a positve post about Y&R!

Monday, June 27, 2011 Interview: Christopher Checks Out Of GHThe old Hollywood catch phrase "quiet on the set" took on whole new meaning on Friday, May 20. That was the day awkward silence shrouded Stage 4 at the Prospect Studios, marking Tyler Christopher's last day on GENERAL HOSPITAL as Nikolas Cassadine. After completion of his final scene, no one moved. "Everybody was kind of, 'Okay... so... I guess... okay,'" Christopher laughs. "I had been there so long, nobody really knew what to say to me." On The Write TrackHaving created the character of Nikolas some 15 years ago, Christopher remained protective of him right up until the very end. To ensure Nikolas' exit was not just true to character but also emotionally satisfying for himself and for the audience, Christopher sat down with his TV brother, Jonathan Jackson (Lucky), and completely rewrote their final parting. "They had originally written him leaving very defeated and we changed it to him leaving a very proud man," Christopher says. "Jonathan and I often change the tone. He and I have a different take on what goes on. What we tried to do is keep the tension between the Spencers and Cassadines as it was originally intended, but without losing the humanity of the characters. I guess if I could sum it up in one word, it would be 'loss.' Whether he believes that Aiden is his child or not, it's about loss. And it's about Lucky's loss of Jake and how everybody emotionally deals with that. It's a very emotional send off." The Chopping BlockChristopher's firing left him disappointed and sad in so many ways. In fact, the whole experience has left him with bad feelings and an unhappy memory. "I've done over 3000 episodes," he points out. "There's a certain way to deal with people, I guess. And I haven't been dealt with kindly. That's unfortunate. If you want to keep a show on the air, you might want to treat the people that have upheld that foundation a little more kindly. They don't care about that. They're looking at, 'How much does this guy make and how much does that guy make? Are we writing for him? No? Then let's cut him.' So, yes, to be honest, it has left a bad taste in my mouth." All this unpleasantness, however, began under the leadership of GH's former headwriter, Robert Guza Jr. His replacement, Garin Wolf, has already penned Nikolas' return, which will air in late August. Considering Nikolas arrived in Port Charles to donate bone marrow to his ailing kid sister, Lulu, Wolf wanted to tie up that loose end with a meaningful sibling reunion. But will Christopher's three-episode return have lasting power? That remains to be seen. "Garin has a broader stroke, so how I fit into that, I don't know yet," Christopher says.

Wednesday, June 22, 2011 GH's Brown Says 'ByeLet's get right to the point... is GENERAL HOSPITAL's "certifiable" surgeon, Dr. Lisa Niles, dead or not? Truthfully, it looks like "not." Now, before Scrubs fans get their panties in a bunch knowing that the woman who attempted to both destroy and end Robin's life isn't roasting marshmallows in hell, there is a lot of storyline still playing out from the Robert Guza Jr. arcs. That said, with new headwriter Garin Wolf steering the ship, whether Lisa's coma is permanent or not remains to be seen. Will she wake up? If she does, will she still be "bad" or will she be redeemed? So many questions and, unfortunately, not many answers just yet. What Could Have Been"There's definitely a part of me that thinks there could have been some really fun stuff had they kept her with Johnny," says Lisa's uber-talented alter ego, Brianna Brown. She's got a point. Lisa and Johnny were becoming two peas in a very dysfunctional pod. Both determined, damaged souls, who live by an immoral code! "Brandon Barash (Johnny) and I had so much fun working together. We were both so bummed out when we realized the storyline wasn't necessarily going to go down a Bonnie and Clyde direction. I don't know about redeeming her, but maybe keep her a bad guy that helps out the Mob. There could be a lot of fun choices with it. "But when I originally signed on, what I was so excited about and why I decided to take the role in the first place was because it was a Fatal Attraction storyline. So I loved the idea of getting to play that. I loved the idea of getting to play a villain because I normally don't get cast as a villain. It's been so much fun. Jumping in front of cars and then blaming someone else for it and drugging people. Who gets to play that? It's so out there!" A Cast Of CharactersEven if this is the end of Lisa, Brown is still counting her blessings. "I didn't expect it to go beyond a year and it's been a year and a half," she says. "Getting to go play with such talented, hard-working, good-looking folks every day was great. I adore the entire cast. I adore Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) for taking me under her wing when I first started. And Jason Thompson (Patrick) for helping me get acquainted with the character and how everything works. Scott Reeves (Steve) for being such a sweetheart to play with. Kimberly McCullough (Robin) for just being an awesome woman. I really adore Kirsten Storms (Maxie). And, of course, Brandon Barash. They're all just so wonderful, so hardworking. It's been a lot of fun. I'm so thankful for the experience and so thankful for the fans that rooted for Lisa and loved to hate her." Meanwhile, Brown already has her next gig lined up: she's booked a guest-starring (and possibly recurring) role on Showtime's CIA drama HOMELAND, starring Claire Danes, Damian Lewis and Mandy Patinkin, about the rescue of a soldier presumed dead in Iraq, and the CIA's suspicions that his reappearance is part of an Al Qaeda plot. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brown will play Lynn Reed, a former Miss Ohio who spent two years in the harem of Prince Farid Bin Abbud and now works as his procurer. Lynn does not view herself as a prostitute, but as someone who is setting herself up for a secure life. HOMELAND will premiere on the cable network this fall.

A spokesperson for the new teen comedy tells Soaps In Depth that Hennesy is indeed taping a guest-starring role this week. Congratulations to the entire family!
UPDATE: "I am in love!" Scott tells Soaps In Depth. "James is a handsome low key guy, just chillin'. Charlotte is stunningly beautiful and knows it! Very alert beyond her hours. Some good news for yall who are All My Childern And One Life To Live fans www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2011/07/07/soaps-all-my-children-and-one-life-to-live-move-online/?test=facesABC Soaps 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live' Move Online Beloved US soap operas "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" will live on -- on the web, the New York Post reported Thursday. Disney's ABC has sold the online rights to the two long-running soaps, which are scheduled to go off the air in September, as part of a deal with TV, film and music company Prospect Park. Sources told the Post the daily dramas will pick up where they left off on a new, as-yet-unnamed, TV-focused online network once the soaps finish their four-decade run in broadcast. Prospect Park, founded in 2008, is run by executives Rich Frank, a former Disney Studios boss, and Jeff Kwatinetz. Both are executive producers of USA Network's hit show, "Royal Pains." Prospect Park is said to be finalizing its current round of funding for its Hulu-style venture in the next month to 45 days. The soaps are expected to be the first of a number of brand-name TV shows to eventually land at the site. News of the deal will be a huge relief to soap fans who have been campaigning for ABC to keep them on air. The broadcast network said in April it was dumping them for much less expensive, unscripted programs, "The Chew" and "Revolution." "All My Children" launched in 1970 and "One Life to Live" began life in 1968.

abc.soapsindepth.com/2011/07/stuart-damons-back-on-gh.htmlStuart Damon's Back On GH! When GENERAL HOSPITAL's new headwriter, Garin Wolf, said, "Sometimes they come back," he meant it! A show spokesperson now confirms what we've been hearing all along, that Stuart Damon is returning to the show by late summer as the long-dead Alan Quartermaine! Damon begins taping next week. Last time Damon's character "came back from the dead," he was not a ghostly apparition, but rather his sister Tracy's conscience. You know, that voice of reason on her shoulder, always pointing out when she was being more devil than angel. This time around, GH is keeping the secret of his "appearance" close to the vest, and the theories abound! Is Alan's presence, again, divine intervention for Tracy? Or is his otherworldly encounter to ease Monica's broken heart and help her move on, the way Stone's "visit" helped Robin? Or will he be there for Jason, as he contemplates becoming a father? Or, will Alan usher his aging father, Edward, to the "other side"? What we can tell you is that fans are screaming for more Quartermaines and even hoping for a reversal of history's fatal blow to that popular family. In fact, some have suggested a Bobby Ewing/DALLAS twist where the death of this clan was just a really bad dream. Now there's an idea we can stand behind!
