James Otto To Fill In For Steel Magnolia's Joshua Scott Jones
On September 29th, Joshua Scott Jones of Steel Magnolia posted a message on the duo’s web site that he was checking himself into rehab to deal with issues related to alcohol and substance abuse. A week later Steel Magnolia was scheduled to join Reba on her All the Women I Am Tour, which left Meghan in search of a guest singer who could join her on the road while Josh was getting better. Meghan says, “We were talking about having a special guest come out and somebody that I could really sing with and that was kind of a unanimous decision and I just said James [Otto] and everybody was like, Wow, that’s a great idea.” Meghan and James have been friends for a while and she says, “He’s an amazing singer. He’s a great person and we’re really good friends so it’s good to have someone out that supports you and it’s good to have those good vibes out.” Not to mention, James is apparently pulling double duty on the tour. Meghan says, “We call him Jams Otto now cause he deejays all the after-parties on the bus.”
