Blake Shelton's Next Album to 'Bee' Sooner Than ExpectedApr 25th 2011 by Donna Hughes theboot.com Kevin Winter, Getty Images With the success of his latest single, 'Honey Bee,' Blake Shelton is set to release his ninth album on July 12, a few months before he had planned. The reigning CMA Male Vocalist debuted 'Honey Bee' on the Academy of Country Music Awards earlier this month, and just one week after its release, the song had more than 138,000 in digital sales. Naturally, Blake felt it wouldn't be wise to wait until the fall for fans to get the album. "Playing your cards too close to your chest doesn't pay out," Blake tells the Associated Press. "I feel like right now if I've got a single that's exploding, easily my fastest climber, I don't want to do something like wait and put [the album] out in the fall. It's when you rally the troops and say, 'Man, we've got to get this thing done.'" 'Honey Bee' is already sitting within the Top 20 on the country charts, and with the news of the album's release this summer, Blake is heading back into the studio this week with producer Scott Hendricks to put the finishing touches on the yet-to-be-titled project. The singer won't be scrambling to find songs; he already has them picked out. The songs featured on the album should have a positive spin, especially with all of the great things that have been happening to him over the course of the last year, including his May 14 wedding to Miranda Lambert. "Honestly, it's just songs that I can kind of relate to at this moment of my life," Blake says. "I'm getting married in about a month and just really feeling good about everything in my life ... It's definitely songs from a guy wishing I could freeze this moment for the rest of time." "There are so many things I'm excited to share with everyone this year," he continues. "I can't wait for people to hear the record; I have found some of the best songs of my career." Beginning Tuesday (April 26) at 9:00 PM ET, you can catch Blake at his "other job." He joins Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine as a coach on NBC's new talent show, 'The Voice.' The Oklahoma native feels confident folks will be surprised at the talent they will see and hear on the program. "There were so many great vocalists who just blew me away," he explains, "and it has been the coolest thing to be part of it all." Blake is also set to join Brad Paisley on the highly-anticipated H2O II: Wetter & Wilder world tour as it kicks off in Pittsburgh, Pa., on May 28.

Blake Shelton Learns to Keep His Marriage-Minded Mouth ShutApr 29th 2011 by Donna Hughes theboot.com Kevin Winter, Getty Images Blake Shelton has had it pretty easy when it comes to planning his upcoming wedding to Miranda Lambert. He has said that his only job was to arrange the music at the reception, which he has completed. The rest is basically up to his bride-to-be and her wedding coordinators (which includes her mom). However, there is one other item Miranda has asked of the groom when it comes to details about the actual nuptials, and that's basically to keep his mouth shut! "It's one thing when your record label [publicist] tells you, 'Hey, don't talk about this or that, because of these reasons.' Sometimes I forgot that she says those things, and I'll just blab about it," Blake tells The Boot. "It's another thing when your fiancée is Miranda Lambert and she says, 'Don't talk about this or that!' I take that a little more seriously, because the wrath is pretty bad." "So, I think the Neal McCoy thing is OK for me to talk about, and what else?," Blake ponders before adding a few other not-so-secret details. "May 14 is the date, and it's in Texas, and there is a honeymoon." As the singer has previously revealed, Neal and his band are performing at what is sure to be a star-studded reception, and he felt he could not have secured anyone more appropriate for the party. "I don't think we could've gone to Las Vegas and found the most entertaining person there and got anybody funnier or got a crowd going better than Neal McCoy," Blake notes. "Mostly he's just a friend, and I felt [strange] asking him to play at the wedding, because he's still Neal McCoy, even though he's a buddy to me. When we asked him, I think he was kind of shocked that we thought of him, but he said he was honored to do it. So, I can't wait to see what he's got prepared for that night." With all of that said and done, Blake is just happy to be marrying his best friend. He's crazy about Miranda, but not too crazy about weddings and all of the details that surround them. "Here's the thing -- I am thrilled to be married to Miranda Lambert, but I don't give a crap about weddings," he laughs. "So, it's a big deal to her, and I'm excited for her, but I don't have a lot of input because I don't have a lot of ideas about it. Every wedding I've ever gone to, I've either fallen asleep or been so miserable that I had my iPod in and nobody knew it, or I was playing Angry Birds on my phone. Even if it's your wedding, if you're a guy, it's boring. So, I'm excited about the actual ceremony to happen, because after that, the reception is going to be a party, and that's what I'm looking forward to." Now that England's royal wedding has taken place, it's time to start counting down to country music's royal nuptials between the reigning CMA Male and Female Vocalists of the Year. We're down to 15 days and just a few hours before Blake and Miranda say, their "I do's!"

Blake Shelton Puts Work on Hold to Make Time for Miranda Lambert, Says New Album Is Full of Love Songs
By: Amanda Hensel tasteofcountry.com
Blake Shelton is an understandably busy guy. When he’s not on the road, he’s either recording music or hosting awards shows and television shows, like his latest project, ‘The Voice.’ It’s rare we go a day without seeing his name in the headlines, but at some point, Shelton says, there’s got to be a little down time for his future wife, Miranda Lambert — so he’s taking some time off. “One day Miranda finally said to me, ‘Where am I? When’s time for me?’ And it was like, ‘God, she’s right!’” he admits to The Boot. “I was even on a call today with my manager, and he said, ‘Man, ‘The Voice’ people called and they need you for…’ I [interrupted and] said, ‘No! They can fire me. I don’t care! I’ve got to do what’s right and spend some time with Miranda.’”
Shelton and Lambert are due to be married on May 14, and are planning on spending “almost” the entire month together, just the two of them. “I mean no friends, no family, just she and I just hanging out for the good part of the month,” Shelton says. “That will be good enough for us that she’ll go back to wanting to kill me again and wishing that I would go back to work.”
Though, the ‘Honey Bee‘ singer can’t help but let his love life bleed onto his music a little bit, and it’s likely that a big chunk of his forthcoming record will be about Mrs. Shelton-to-be. “There’s a handful of things that people would expect from me about in-breeding and drinking and dogs stuck together and stuff like that,” he says, but ensures that his latest songs will reflect his current standings. “But there will be plenty of positive, fun love songs, because that’s where I’m at right now. I mean, I’m getting married in a month and about to have my manhood cut, but I’m happy about it for a change. I’m ready for that part of my life.”
Sad about a Blake-less May? No worries! You can catch your favorite ‘Hillbilly Bone’ hitmaker on NBC’s ‘The Voice’ every Tuesday night. His new record, which doesn’t have a name just yet, will drop on July 12.

Blake Shelton Gains New Admirers Thanks to Starring on ‘The Voice’
By: Amanda Hensel tasteofcountry.com
Blake Shelton is going to have to create a disguise to wear out in public if he wants to avoid being recognized, because now that he’s on NBC’s ‘The Voice,’ he’s pulling in a slew of new admirers who aren’t even country music buffs.
Shelton shared with The Boot that he was out riding around Nashville last week following a recording session and stopped in a gas station for a snack, where the clerk immediately recognized him as one of ‘The Voice’ coaches. “I’ve been in the studio all week working. I’ve kind of been in a hole, and had not seen a lot of people. So, I went to the Tiger Mart/Exxon across the highway, and this was at one o’clock in the morning after I got out of the studio. I walked in there and grabbed a bag of Cheez-Its or something, and I put them up on the counter,” he recalls. “I guess it’s just because it’s country music, a lot of my following has mostly been white people, and there was a cute black girl who was running the cash register. She looked at me and she kind of made this — she didn’t scream — but it was kind of a ‘HEY!’ I said, ‘Hey.’ She said, ‘Are you that guy from that show?’ I said, ‘Yeah, you’re damn right I am!’”
The ‘Hillbilly Bone’ hitmaker adds that he’s amazed by the power of television, especially since the show just premiered on April 26. “That’s somebody that probably [wouldn't have known who I was], and she even told me, ‘Man, I don’t listen to country music at all, but I think that’s a cool show and you’re funny on it, and would you take a picture with me?’ It’s amazing the impact that thing has already had,” he says.
‘The Voice’ continues tonight at 9PM ET with round two of blind auditions.

Blake Shelton Mum on Wedding Details Per Miranda Lambert’s Request
By Sarah Wyland gactv.com
Blake Shelton says what’s on his mind – unless fiancé Miranda Lambert tells him not to. With their wedding coming up on May 14 in Texas, Miranda has put a muzzle on Blake, keeping him mum on all the wedding day details.
“It’s one thing when your record company tells you, ‘Don’t talk about this or that for these reasons,’” Blake tells The Tennessean. “Sometimes I forget they say those things. But it’s another thing when your fiancé is Miranda Lambert and she says, ‘Don’t talk about this or that.’ I take that a little more seriously, because the wrath is pretty bad.”
Blake was allowed to give away a couple of details though. There will be a honeymoon and their friend Neil McCoy will perform at the wedding reception which, true to Blake and Miranda’s form, is set to be one big party.
“Here’s the thing: I am thrilled to be married to Miranda Lambert, but I don’t give a crap about weddings,” Blake said. “Every wedding I’ve ever gone to I’ve either fallen asleep or … was playing Angry Birds on my phone. Even if it’s your wedding and you’re a guy, it’s boring. I’m ready for the actual ceremony to happen because after that the reception is going to be a party, and that’s what I’m looking forward to.”

OFFSTAGE: Blake Shelton Tells Dia Frampton “You’re Family to Me”
06/30/11, 1:00 pm EDT
(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)
Javier Colon won The Voice Wednesday night (June 29). And Dia Frampton, Blake Shelton's protégé, came in second. But at this point, that hardly seems to matter. Because she has proven to the world she does have a voice (albeit not the voice for the show's first season), and now she also has the backing of Shelton. After Frampton's sweet duet with Miranda Lambert on "The House That Built Me," Shelton had these final words to say to Frampton: "It finally hit me, watching that. I know now why I get so emotional when I'm around you these last two weeks, Dia. Watching you stand there, singing that song with my wife, it makes sense to me. You're family to me now. I love you. I really do. I'm so proud of you. I'm so happy for you." With that kind of love and support, her loss isn't really much of a loss at all. Even Colon is behind her. Entertainment Weekly reported that after the show, he said, "I wasn't expecting to win, honestly. I, 100 percent, thought [host Carson Daly] was going to say Dia Frampton, and she is most deserving of it. She is amazing."[/b][/color][/font]

Blake Shelton Recalls Relieving Wedding Moment Posted Jul 3rd 2011 12:00PM by Gayle Thompson
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's intimate May 14 wedding, which took a full year to plan, is a happy memory for the newly married couple. The groom, who has had some time to reflect on the big day, shares a few highlights -- and the unfortunate moment that was captured on film. "Probably the best moment, the coolest moment of the wedding was when Miranda came down the aisle," the Oklahoma native reveals. "She was with her dad and they stopped right in front of us. Ashley Monroe was playing a song -- she played the song that Miranda walked down the aisle on. She stopped right there and we just had a moment where we were looking at each other, and it was starting to get me. I looked over at Rick, and he cries a lot anyway, so he was starting to cry. And then all of a sudden you could hear a little bit of feedback, and Miranda began to kind of under her breath to Ashley, 'Did you turn the guitar off? Turn the guitar off. Turn it off!' It killed the whole moment with the feedback." The 'Honey Bee' singer was blissfully unaware of the media's interest in their big day, until nature called. "There was a couple of odd things and great things. The first thing for me was, and I realized things were changing at this moment, for not just me but Miranda and people were interested in us in a big way," says the 35-year-old. "They had gotten everybody into the chapel and they were seated and there was a little bit of music playing before I was supposed to step in and the wedding was going to start. I was standing out there talking to the pastor, and I had to pee. "So I, as I was talking to him, I just walked over to the building, and we were talking and I was peeing, and a helicopter flew by really low. I remember saying, 'You don't think that's ... no ..." And sure enough a Texas ranger came around and said, 'Hey man, there's a problem,' so I just knew the world would know just how nervous I was that day. I didn't know what kind of picture they may have gotten of me!" The reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year garnered a whole new fan base, thanks to his appearance on NBC's hit TV show, 'The Voice.' The couple's shared superstar status meant thousands of generous well-wishers who were only too happy to contribute to the couple's happiness. "It's amazing how many wedding gifts I'm still getting from fans and meet and greets," notes the tunesmith. "And nice stuff too. It blows me away. I told Miranda, 'Tell people to send flowers to something or donate money to something.' People want to celebrate it with you. It's fun for them. I haven't gotten anything weird. Just really nice gifts. Dishes, picture frames, and stuff that you go, 'Dang it. I can't believe they're doing that.' It's a pretty good feeling." Blake's latest CD, 'Red River Blue,' hit shelves July 12. The new compilation of tunes offers, according to the singer-songwriter, a little bit of something for everyone's musical tastes. "There's a handful of things that people would expect from me about in-breeding and drinking and dogs stuck together and stuff like that," he tells The Boot, "but there will be plenty of positive, fun love songs, because that's where I'm at right now." Blake, who wrapped up the first season of 'The Voice' last night (June 29), will continue his summer trek across the country, serving as opening act on Brad Paisley's H20 II: Wetter & Wilder tour. He will play in Arizona this weekend, followed by stops in New Jersey, Massachusetts and Wisconsin. Keep track of his schedule here.

Blake Shelton's 'Voice' Experience Was Life-Changing Posted Jul 8th 2011 10:20AM by Gayle Thompson
Blake Shelton has wrapped up his first year as a coach on NBC's hit TV show, 'The Voice,' and is acclimating to his regular life again, which includes newlywed bliss with Miranda Lambert and a slot on Brad Paisey's H20 II: Wetter & Wilder tour. While he may be returning to some semblance of normalcy, he can't deny the affect his weekly TV gig had on him, both personally and professionally. "I'm happy about the impact it it's had on my career, but more than that, working with those kids and getting to know them has changed my life," Blake tells Country Aircheck. "I learned a lot about myself. I've been doing this for 10 years, and may have gotten a bit calloused. Being around [contestant] Xenia and Dia [Frampton] and seeing that fire in their eyes awakened part of me and reminded me why I love what I do." Among the four judges, which included Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera, the Oklahoma native was cited by 'New York' magazine as the unofficial winner, both in popularity and career boost. "I probably had the most to gain," he notes. "The other three are pop and rock stars; they're on TV and in magazines a lot more than country artists. I was in a situation to not make a difference at all, which would have been expected, or to get up there and wave my arms and get noticed." The 'Honey Bee' singer saw 'The Voice' as an opportunity, not only for him, but for the genre as a whole. "The one thing that was in the back of my mind the whole time -- the thing that probably kept me from self-destructing like I often do -- is knowing what I was representing," acknowledges the 35-year-old. "I felt a responsibility to country music and to Nashville to take it serious and to work as hard as I could because everything that happens in this genre on a stage like that affects what happens back here. There may be people who never listen to country music that might go buy one of my records now because of that show. And when they buy one of my records, they'll say, 'Who's Miranda Lambert?' and buy that one, and, next thing you know, they're buying country records. That's important to me." The reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year saw his teammate, Dia, come in a close second behind the season's winner, Javier Colon, who was a member of Adam Levine's team. "The night before the results show, Dia said to me, 'I would feel stupid if I beat Javier because I think he represents more what the show is than me,'" Blake recalls. "And I can't argue with her on that, because Dia is a unique artist. Javier is 'The Voice.' Dia is an amazing singer who did give it everything she had and almost won that thing. She's going to do everything she ever wanted to do, and she's also really genuinely happy and relieved that Javier won." Even though his beloved teammate walked away without the $100,000 prize and a recording contract, Blake insists they both came out winners. "No more than two months ago she was about to give up on her dream of music and had moved back home with her mom and sisters in Utah," notes the tunesmith. "I was so happy for her because I got so emotionally invested in Dia. I had never wanted to see something happen so bad for somebody who wasn't family. Miranda wanted [success] really badly for Dia, too." The platinum-selling singer is enjoying his newfound status as a TV celebrity, but insists that he isn't looking for more on-air roles. "The network probably did this with everyone on the show, but my manager said the network wanted to talk about me appearing on a sitcom or maybe even writing one for me," he reveals. "But here's how I look at it: this is a dream job for me. I get to be on TV and basically make an ass of myself, as I would at a karaoke bar or somewhere, but I get to do it with rock and pop stars. I'm never going to be on a show bigger than this, and I still get to go make country music and tour and do what I love. Everything else would be a step down from this. I just want to enjoy these two things I have going on and live them out as much as I can, and not muddy the water." With his upcoming CD, 'Red River Blue,' hitting shelves next week, plus a packed summer of tour dates, the new groom is putting all his focus back onto himself. "The show just ended, and now I'm back here promoting my album, which is the heart and soul and core of what I do, [which] still, and always will be, country music," he notes. "And it is hard to stay focused, not because of being on television and that type of exposure, [but] because of dumping all my energy and focus into those kids. It's an adjustment to go back to, 'Oh, now it's about me again' and concentrating on selling me." Blake has a few days off before he heads to New Jersey, Massachusetts and Wisconsin next weekend. Keep track of his tour schedule here, www.tourtracker.com/artist/blake-shelton/1445425/?flv=1 and listen to his brand-new song, 'God Gave Me You,' here. www.theboot.com/2011/07/06/blake-shelton-god-gave-me-you/[/b][/color][/font]

OFFSTAGE: Blake Shelton Says Miranda Lambert Is His Rock
07/5/11, 12:30 pm EDT
(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)
Sure, there were the good old days when Blake Shelton stayed out drinking until 7 a.m., would wake up at noon and eat pizza. But now that he's older, wiser and crazy in love with his new wife Miranda Lambert, he told Us magazine he just grew tired of all that. "Now if I want to go drinking, I only want to sit at the house with Miranda watching Snapped on TV at home," he said. "It's crazy because even if I'm just out on her bus while she's on the road or watching her do her shows, I'm 100 percent comfortable because she is there. She really is that rock for me and the center of all of this." Awww. So sweet. So romantic. And, honestly, so surprising coming from a man who still tweets like he's a 15-year-old boy. (Recent ones include, "I'm so drunk right now I just nut slapped an Arizona state police officer" and "Why the hell doesn't any Amish people follow me?!!") Shelton says it's Lambert who made him, in a sense, grow up into a normal adult. But he has no regrets about his pre-Lambert days. "I was a single male country singer raising hell, going out after concerts to bars and drinking and doing whatever I wanted. And why the hell not? I wouldn't take it back, either," says Shelton.

OFFSTAGE: Taylor Swift: Blake Shelton Needs a Favor
07/8/11, 1:30 pm EDT
(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)
When Adam Levine asked Justin Bieber to tweet about Javier Colon, his protégé on The Voice, things happened. Millions of things. And then Colon won. So next time, Blake Shelton says it is on. He has a plan to get another power tweeter to hit the Internet on his behalf. "I knew how close the votes were, and then I read that Bieber had gotten involved," Shelton said in a recent radio interview. "But that's what Adam was supposed to do as Javier's coach, you know? I mean, he's supposed to pull every string he's got and bring it home for him. By God, I'm gonna make better friends with Taylor Swift and get her on my side for this season." It's a solid strategy. But Shelton may need to have Swift tweet her encouragement more than once, because she has only has 6.9 million followers while Bieber has 10.8 million.[/b][/color][/font]

Blake Shelton Plans His 'Voice' Strategy
Blake Shelton is already planning his strategy -- and his wardrobe -- for Season 2 of 'The Voice.' Starting with the Feb. 5 premiere, the country superstar will reprise his role as a celebrity coach on the reality competition show, alongside Christina Aguilera, Maroon 5's Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green.
"Christina, Adam and I have talked about how for one episode, we're going to all three come out wearing Adidas sweat suits like Cee Loo wears on the show," Blake tells The Boot. "But I'll have boots on with it."
Blake got a lot of laughs on the show's inaugural season, mainly at the expense of his fellow coaches. He also got a lot of praise for taking chances on singers the other coaches overlooked, namely young pop songstresses Dia Frampton and Xenia. The reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year explains that in Season 2, he'll once again be listening out for the most unique contestants.
"I am picking polarizing voices," Blake tells The Boot of his Season 2 strategy. "That really worked out well for me last time around. There were a lot of great singers on that show, but there was only one Dia and one Xenia. They are so different from any other voices you ever hear. That's what the show means to me. I think to Christina, it probably means someone with a huge range. That's the cool thing about having artists be the coaches -- we all have a different vision for what 'The Voice' is. I think it will become even more dynamic this year, as far as how different each one of our teams are. Now we know what we're looking for and how to go about the game we play."
Season 2 of 'The Voice' premieres right after the Super Bowl, Feb. 5 on NBC.

Blake Shelton, 'The Voice': Country Coach Has Two Adoring Advisors for Team Blake
After finishing third on 'Nashville Star,' Miranda Lambert lost interest in TV singing competitions. It wasn't until her husband, Blake Shelton, became a judge on 'The Voice' that the country singer once again embraced the subgenre of reality shows beloved by the American public.
"As [last] season went along, she wanted to know every artist I picked," Blake said in a recent interview with the Sioux City Journal. "She wanted to see DVDs of their auditions. She wanted to know every one of them. Trust me, I got an earful about what direction I should try to take them."
Miranda got so into 'The Voice' that she joined the cast herself, signing on to serve as a mentor to half of Team Blake, the singer's group of 12 singers. Good pal Kelly Clarkson will coach the other half, and Blake is glad to have both singers help him advise his contestants.
"I've never met an artist who loves other artists more than Kelly Clarkson," says Blake of his pop star buddy. "I've never heard her sit back and talk crap about other singers. She's a fan. She lives and breathes music."
Blake tells The Boot his strategy for Season 2 is very much the same as last season: to "pick polarizing voices." But the Oklahoma native will approach his coaching a little differently.
"One of the biggest criticisms I got from my management was I couldn't fix everything for everybody," Blake said, reflecting on last season. "When it got down to my final two, I'd never gone through anything like that before in my life. I don't have kids or a younger sibling. But I cared about these two girls and I wanted to protect them."
Not that his new gang of hopefuls will need a lot of protecting. As he says, 'The Voice' has attracted some top-flight talent.
"This year, we've got the kind of singers that damn sure aren't afraid of anything," he says. "They go into it ready for battle Day One."

Blake Shelton Dives Further Into Bromance With Fellow ‘The Voice’ Coach Adam LevinePEOPLE A couple weeks ago we joined in on the fun, reporting about ‘The Voice‘ coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine and their budding bromance. And while Shelton still playfully jokes that he’d like to make out with his Maroon 5-fronting co-judge, it seems Levine has just one request we need to take into consideration: He’s not too keen on the whole “bromance” word. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the two, who are good friends in real life, talked about their friendship, and Levine requested a ban on a certain b-word. “Stop using the word ‘bromance,’” he said in the interview. “Can we please kill that stupid term? We’re just friends. It’s called friendship!” OK, OK, we’ll comply. In all seriousness though, the two seem to have a great, albeit rather unlikely, camaraderie, and they show it in their hilarious jabs back and forth during the show. Thinking back on the interview that became fodder for the b—mance fire, Shelton seems to get a good laugh. But then again, given his sense of humor, Shelton seems to indulge in the lighter side of life. “A few weeks ago somebody asked me, ‘What about you and Adam’s bromance? Is there anything to it?’” the ‘Honey Bee’ singer says. ”And I sputtered off, ‘Yeah, I’m going to make out with him.’ The next thing you read is, ‘Blake wants to kiss Adam.’ Man, I can’t believe how …” “True that is?” interrupts the ‘Moves Like Jagger’ hitmaker. “How honest I was,” says Shelton, laughing. “But it’s fun. It’s just like we’re sitting around the bar, making jabs at each other.” And that’s exactly what these two do on the show as well. The pressure is on for both coaches as they’re in the process of whittling down their teams, making the tough decisions to dismiss the performers they originally chose. Tune in Mondays at 8PM ET on NBC to see Shelton and Levine (and their respective teams) in action.
