Hey Everyone. So I've finally decided to take the plunge and attempt to start a home based business part time. Still keeping my other job. I have applied for a business License (Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well!) My Business is going to be a "Variety Store". Buying wholesale online, and selling. I am starting out with Jewelry, (Bracelets, Watches and so on) Really hoping that eventually I will be able to expand. Eventually I hope to offer "Variety"
Does anybody have any name suggestions? I have come up with a few I like. I don't want to just pinpoint one item in the title since I hope to have a variety of odds and ends, one of a kind products down the line. So I don't want to name it "Bracelets Galore" or something like that. But I want something appealing, memorable. I have added a poll with the few that I like. Which is your favorite? Or do you have a different suggestion? Please share!

What an adventurous endeavor! I wish you the best of luck. If you like "Variety," as part of the name, how about "Tina's Variety" or perhaps "Tina's Treasures" or Treasures by Tina?"

Hey Kora. "Adventurous endeavor" or terrifying experience!?! I am honestly really scared! But just taking it nice and easy.
As for the name, I think for now I might go with "Tina's - Bracelets". I want it to be variety down the road (Keeping my fingers crossed!!) but for now I'm only do bracelets until I figure out what else would sell. And I have to register any other name then my own. So until I know if its a "Smash or trash" I don't want to invest in registering a name.
Although I must say, I have customers lined up already! I sold one bracelet to a co-worker of mine, she posted her new purchase on Facebook, tagged me in it. Now it seems my Facebook page has been exploding! Love it! And another one of my co-workers is a "Tax woman" lol, so I've been talking to her. Just making sure I do everything "by the books". Don't want the tax man to come and do and audit, and fines!
Only down side is I only have 1 in stock right now! Waiting for a shipment. I asked my co-worker not to post it till I had more "stock" but she texted me after work and begged me if she could post it.
I am also working on a Facebook page. That will probably be the base of my shop. since its "Home Based" don't exactly have a lot of room. City Bi-law states I can't use more then %25 of my house for business purpose. That won't be a problem.
All I can say, I hope it works out!

Tina - It all sounds exciting. Whether you become a millionaire or just dabble and move on to something else, it's fun to explore an interest like this one. Having new ideas makes life interesting. I wish you all the luck.

Thanks Kora! Its definitely exciting. I got my business license in the mail on Monday ((Yay!!)), and have now set up my Facebook page and "opened shop" (at least on Facebook). I have gotten 54 likes in 24 hours. My inventory was only 7 bracelets to start off with. They are all "Sale Pending" (meaning somebody has said they want them, pick-up date & time has been arranged, just hasn't happened yet). So now I'm anxiously awaiting more inventory. This reassures me that I might actually have a shot at this.

Here are a few examples of what I have gotten in, and sold so far. I's still excited about it all. Its going pretty good. I am working on posters to put up around town. Advertise a little. Very nice, Tina. I'm happy for you that it's going well. |
