Today is awesome - it's 80 degrees outside - it's Friday and I'm leaving work for the weekend.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Thanks Jo! I'm expecting to get a door latch recall on my car any day now too. I read that the recall applied to some 2014 Fusions that were built in Mexico, and I know that mine was built in Mexico. But, on a lighter note, I just paid the car off. I'm so glad to have that monthly payment off my back. You paid that off fast Miranda....that's so great. I'm still waiting on the new clutch kit to come in for my car but we have hubby's car back and it's working fine (knock on wood). We got hit with the door latch recall on both our cars too. I'm on the list for parts when they become available. You can register online with your VIN number and it'll tell you any recalls with your car. www.ford.com/Then click on the "owner" tab and follow along. On a lighter note, even though we keep having car trouble, all of it has been covered by factory warranty. Which is good since the last part was $500 and who knows how much the clutch kit runs.

Thanks Jo, I will run my VIN number through that site. So far I still haven't received any mail or phone calls about it. Today I spoke with two good friends that I hadn't talked to for a spell. The weather has been great and this is the first weekend in awhile I haven't had something work-related to worry about. I worked from home last Saturday but this weekend I am going to the dirt track races. YAY

Miranda,
We haven't gotten the notification for the door latch recalls in the mail yet either. I think it's because the parts aren't available yet. The recall is still very new.
How were the dirt track races this weekend?

OK, not today but....Saturday a lady from the local Florist brought me a bouquet of flowers from our eldest son and his wife and when my hubby answered the door she handed the floweres to him and said....there's a SNAKE on your front porch! Sure enough right up against the house about several feet from the door was a 4 to 5 foot long snake! He was probably a Bull snake or Chicken snake...whatever they are called. SCARY anyway!!! It didn't scare my hubby at all, but it SURE did ME! I hate ALL snakes...little or big! My hubby just let him go and said he won't hurt you! Of course....he already did 'cause just looking at him made my heart jump up into my throat!

How were the dirt track races this weekend? It was good to see my racing buddies again, as I generally dont see them through the off season. i usually cover the races for the paper but after four years it's starting to feel more like a job responsibility and not as much fun as it used to be.

Happy Mother's Day this weekend...or whenever you celebrate it in Canada. Thanks Jo - and Happy Mother's Day to you also. Yes, we celebrated Mother's day this past weekend. I think it's only different in England - theirs was about a month ago. We had a nice brunch with my son's soon to be family. One of the aunts has a huge backyard with a swimming pool so she had everyone there for brunch. Immediate family (including my husband, son and I) was about 30 people!! And there were a couple missing! It was a great day. My daughter-in-law (easier to call her that than keep saying son's fiancé) - her grandmother has her certificate in baking and is also a certified chef. She is an amazing cook and baker and she made everything. Eggs Benedict were amazing! My favorite way to eat eggs!! Unfortunately because of the weather that day - mostly sunny until mid afternoon when it got really overcast and cloudy - I ended up with a migraine and had to go home early - but by that time it was late afternoon, so I didn't miss much. Just everyone in the pool, which I wasn't about to attempt, so it was all good. Hope all the lovely moms on here had a great day!

Thanks Kim. I did have a lovely mom's day ...though it was on Monday rather than on Sunday that son took me out for lunch. : )
I have the same thing...son and his girlfriend have been living together for the past six months and they'll get married one of these days. It's just so much easier to call her my daughter than son's girlfriend...so I do. She calls me "mom". She's family...they've been together since high school so ...what is it, maybe 7 years now. Where does the time go?
You lucky girl, eggs benedict and sunshine. Sorry about the late afternoon migraine. I hope your headache didn't linger.

It's been an odd week here. Still waiting on the clutch kit for my car...probably another two weeks he said now. The parts are way backed up. We've needed a new washer for a long time but I've been babying it along. Finally went to the hardware store last weekend to buy a new one (on sale) and it was out of stock. So much for next day delivery. It's supposed to come sometime around the end of the month ..or so they tell me.
In general though, life has been crowded this week. Neighbors have partied outside between our houses until 2 a.m. the last three nights. Hubby had a major malfunction at work so he telecommuted for three days and barely slept. His boss gave notice yesterday so he's hearing about the work reorg today. My sister and my mom are unhappy with each other and I hear each side, in detail.
Oh well, enough with the saga of my week, there's music to listen to and it's Friday. : )
