My mom's health is really declining. I took some time away from the Internet.
the nursing home sent her back to the hospital again this morning at 3 a.m.
The emergency iliostomy she had a couple of months ago. The extremely low blood pressure that sent her back into the ICU after that. They had a hard time getting it back up at all. Every person in her room then asked about a DNR ...do not resuscitate....order. Pneumonia. A Uti. Problems with her leg stump. She has no feeling in her hands now at all.
end stage diabetes with the often usual complications. They did the iliostomy because most of her intestines were already dead tissue.

I'm sorry to say it Miranda. My mom is very sad these days. She's always been someone who cries a lot but now it's tears, tears and more tears.

Thanks Mike. I really appreciate that.
My mom had surgery again yesterday and we're hoping she gets to go back to the nursing home by the end of this week.

Thank you Jane. I can feel that Texas sized hug here in Houston. My mom has been in and out of the hospital 9 times in the past 6 months. I'm happy to say (knock on wood) that she's back in the nursing home again and they've been making sure the kitchen doesn't feed her anything that isn't on her potassium restricted diet and her numbers are improving. We're in a good place again.

I sort of figured 'youneverknow' was the new tag. Sometimes a break is good. I got behind on everything internet since school started. I changed schools to a very new school so am spending my time building a library collection for urban high schoolers.
Very sorry to hear about your mom. End stages of life are often complicated and messy.

Thank you Laurie. They are indeed. I'll bet you are enjoying building a library collection for urban high schoolers. I love the smell of new books. The crispness of the pages. The smoothness of the binding. ....and I read my Kindle as often as I do books these days...go figure.
