Its an interesting project for sure. I'm putting in a teen parent section as well...sadly, its necessary. I've been approached by several students for book club, which will be fun. The one I belong to has several teachers, me and a dental student.

That will be fun.
I've been hoping they'd actually make birth control pills available OTC and there are bills to do so in Congress but they have opposition.
Son has a Chinese fiance and a whole lot of Asian friends and the consensus among them is that they still have a parental culture which is more traditional. If they had a way to get birth control pills without going through the current system, which would likely show up on their parents insurance, they would be more likely to use the pill.
The alternate debate on that is that the folks who want it to remain as a prescription are protecting women's health by making sure they have an annual pap test. I'm not sure that truly holds water since most physicians will tell you that if you have a negative HPV test and don't have a history of abnormal test results, there's no need to have a pap test each year.
It's another one of those things that looks different from different points of view.

What we're finding is that even if the pill was available OTC many of these younger women won't take it. There is still a cultural dynamic at play in the urban/ghetto area.

Some of my high school friends started their adult lives early too. Three or four kids before they turned 20.
Everyone has their own path.
