looking for a place to talk music, maybe write and share tracks and work finished or trying to finish, always open to ideas. I play guitar, sing, write lyric.. and try to stay out of trouble..

hi all thanks for the welcome, I grew=up country but have a good habit of listening to all genres of music.
so many fav" I can`t` list them all. and again it might depend on the world and whats happening in it. [that would be my world...lol]
started out on the back porch listening to the Hag" buck owens, and of course Cash" [early days] I`m not a young guy been around awhile.
L could never listen to just one artist, radio station. Today I believe the music has gained in leaps and bounds .. all the tec" and electronics
the sounds we can produce. now we add video for effect, and to tell the story so much better. But to tell you all the truth I`m more of the writer,
I really like to write the lyric tell the story, add a melody and have a friend finish the work, if myself and others think its worthy..to me thats the fun part,
and a bit rewarding.
I think my fav" kinda new song is that song is written so well.

Lane, I grew up on country music too. Every Saturday night it was Hee Haw at our house. I love a large variety of country music, from a lot of different decades. Some of my new favorites are Mo Pitney, Brandy Clark and Kacey Musgraves. My very favorite, ever since "Amarillo by Morning" was new is George Strait. Let's see, if I had to narrow it down to my favorite new song, by a singer songwriter (because otherwise we all know I'd just be picking from George's new album)...would be Mo's "Just a Dog". To me, it's everything a song should be. |

o`yes, thats a great song, the storytellers are forever my fav, could you imagine having about 20 people like that
hanging around taking turns....lol I enjoy songs like this for the fact, they are not written in any process..
no 2 or 3 people sat down to write this song. I like to believe some fella sitting on his Grandma`s quilt on his bed
in the middle of the night did this..the lyric is written free-verse style, [not everything rhymes] to me that is such a plus
in this style of country. L remember those shows well..and I could sing every George Strait song there was...lol
There are some songs written going to be around and will be fav for new singers to re-work, I watch shows like the Voice"
those kids are singing songs that have been tried many times, I don`t know how many cuts" [Stand by Me] has, but a simple
solid song.
Do you write? or sing? play?
I`ll post a couple of songs , i`ll mix it up a little..

Lane, I have absolutely no musical talent or ability. I'm your usual, I love the music and it's my hobby kind of fan. I think Mo's gonna be a keeper. He's been lucky enough to write with Bill Anderson already. I've watched some online clips of Mo's sister and she's pretty impressive too. What instruments do you play? |

I play guitar, and lap steel guitar. I `m not very polished but I do enough to write melodies, I don`t want to be that guy out front...lol I want to write the song and they can put the check in the mail...lol

[that might not be the proper spelling] I had to chase everyone out of the room to watch the video..some songs I`m a crybaby"...there,,thats out of the way...lol that was another song written so well in my opinion. |
