First 2016 ACM Awards Performers Announced

The first performers for the 2016 ACM Awards in Las Vegas have been announced. Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Florida Georgia Line and Cam are included in the early lineup, announced on Thursday morning.

Keith Urban was also revealed as a performer for the show, which airs on April 3 on CBS. It’s not clear what songs any of the five will perform, but FGL’s Tyler Hubbard told Taste of Country his duo will debut a new song at either the ACMs or iHeartRadio Awards in April. Chesney is another artist who could play new music, as he does not currently have an active single. After the awards show ends, the superstar will close out the ACM Party for a Cause Festival happening near the venue.

Underwood’s performance will mark a return to the ACM stage for the “Heartbeat” singer. She hasn’t performed during the broadcast since 2013 and missed the show completely in 2015 as she spent time with newly-born baby Isaiah. This year she’s nominated in just one category, Female Vocalist of the Year.

Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan will host the 2016 ACM Awards, which will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas once again after a year in Texas. Chris Stapleton leads all nominees with seven, while Cam and Eric Church have six each. Church, Bryan, Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks and Miranda Lambert are all nominated for the Entertainer of the Year award.

Most of the artists today sound pretty much alike to me! Am I the only one that feels

I'm the same Jane and Kim. I'm still following my favorites from before I quit listening to mainstream and have picked up a few random newcomers but mostly I'm off the beaten track these days.
