Has anyone heard from Jolene? Is she still an administrator on here? I sure do miss her and her posts. I know I don't post here much, but I do come here a lot. I just wish things were like they used to be. I miss all the "old" bunch that was on the Country Weekly Forum. Wish we were all back together again.
Is Country Weekly still being published? I haven't seen any in months at the Wal Mart store where I shop.

Last year just got away from me. Our son was in alcohol detox three times and in between, it has been all about finding our way to helping him to sobriety.
That said, he's working his AA program now, his sponsor is really terrific and things are looking up.
So....did y'all get music for Christmas? : )

I totally understand Jolene! Tough year around here as well. 2017 will be one of new normal (its a process) and getting on with it. The hubby has been gone 2 years this month, still seems like yesterday. I'm still turning the house from "we" to "me"....however:

Jolene it's so good to hear from you. Really have missed you! So sorry to hear about your son, but glad to know he's getting help.I hope you and your family was able to have a good Christmas and hope you have a happier New Year! I'll be praying for all of you.
For Christmas this year our son took us to Grapevine, Texas to the Gaylord "River Walk" and we went in the Ice House where they had Christmas ice sculptures which was pretty and interesting. It was 9 degrees in there and they give you a PARKA with a hood to put on before you go in. The trees and grounds were decorated beautifully. We took a lot of pictures. Outside of getting tired it was fun and I really enjoyed it. We were there 2 nights and 2 days.

Hi Jane, We had a lovely Christmas. Son bought me the Willow Tree mother and son sculpture and said it was because I was an angel to him. Things are definitely looking up. I'm so glad you had such a lovely trip to Grapevine. That's so cool to have ice sculptures in Texas. Parkas....I'll bet you all looked so cute.  Did you get Strait out of the Box 2 for Christmas? I haven't decided yet. I want George's new songs but I was kind of hoping they'd be available without the whole 2nd box set. I do have a new link for some George music on youtube. I'll post it on his thread. |

We spent a couple of days and nights in a hotel, but not the Gaylord where the Ice House is. The Gaylord is too expensive. Our son paid for everything. We walked through the Gaylord where they have some shops and eating places and the yard which they call "The River Walk", which was decorated beautifully. Funny thing is...I never saw what I'd call a river...jut some man made water spots. I did get George's Box Set 2, but not for Christmas. I really like his new song "Kicked Out of Country". The other new one...I don't remember much about the other new one..."You Gotta Go Through Hell" Thanks for all the videos you put on here. That takes time and effort. Again, so happy you are back and things are getting much better. |
