I have been missing Kim when I come here. Is she OK? Does anyone know? Not many post here anymore. I have posted in George Strait's thread and Elton Britt' s every once in awhile. I wish it was like it use to be. I miss that!

Hi Jane,
I have no news of Kim. According to her profile, she was last here in September.
I'm crossing my fingers she's busy with her grandkids and that all is well with her.
I've been thinking about Laurie too and keeping her in my thoughts and prayers. I'm not sure exactly where she lives in California but those fires in California are terrible.
How are you? Are you ready for Christmas?

I sent a personal message to Kim on this board on the 12th but no reply. It's entirely possible she turned off her email notifications in the settings at some point though.
This morning I sent an email to her email account (assuming the one she has listed in her profile is her current email). I'll give that a few days and I'll trying contacting Jodie next if I/we don't hear back from Kim.

Jolene, thank you for your information about Kim. I was hoping that she hadn't given up on this. I do wish we could get more of the group posting again.I need to start using my computer more instead of this Kindle because I can't post videos or copy and paste with it. If it can be done ...I don't know how to do it.
As for Christmas...with our kids and grandkids all grown up and scattered, we don't do much of anything. This is the first year that I didnt decorate at all! We DID go to Arkansas recently and saw our new great-grandson. He was only one month old and just as sweet as he could be. He's the brother of our two great-granddaughters. While we were there it got down to 16 degrees one night. That's just too cold for me! I understand it snowed in Texas while we were gone, but it didn't snow at all there. That was weird....but I'm glad it didn't. I lived in Arkansas a couple of times when I was growing up and had to walk to school in the snow. That wasn't any fun!!! When it snows in Texas it doesn't snow that much so it doesn't bother me.
Here's hoping you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Jane,
This will always be Kim's board. She is our fearless leader. : )
New babies and babies are so very, very sweet. I know you loved your visit with the young-uns in your family.
The weather this year...it's insane. We got snow for the first time in years ...I think it was the fourth time in over 20 years.
Poor George...first his ranch gets hit with Hurricane Harvey and then the golf resort he co-owns catches on fire and burns. I've been keeping him in my prayers.
My computer speakers have been acting up so I need to learn to post video links from my Ipad. Everything here has been so hectic since the Harvey sat on us. We were so lucky. Flooding all around us but we didn't have any damage at all. The food pantry I've long volunteered at (it's a coalition of churches including the one we go to) was in hurricane relief mode for so long that everyone who could volunteer more hours did. In the new year though, I've already decreased my hours. We're back in regular mode now and I need a break from the sadness.
My mom died in the Harvey aftermath and I think that's catching up with me now.
In happier news, hubby and I had a staycation this past week and it was so lovely. Son is engaged and starting to think about wedding details...no date yet. We're healthy and well.
..and new music....'tis the season. : ) Wish we had new George though.

Hey everyone
Just a quick note before work to let you know I'm doing okay. Been a rough 6 months or so. Totally renovated and sold my house and moved into a condo. House renovations took from March until September and then house sold pretty quickly. Moved into our condo November 17th and still getting settled there.
In the midst of all this we lost my mom suddenly. On October 6 my parents celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary - this was the Friday of the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. On the Sunday after putting the turkey in the oven to cook mom went and sat in her chair in the living to rest for a bit before everyone came for dinner. Suddenly she started screaming and my brother found her on the floor. She said it felt like her right eye was going to pop out of her head and then she fell unconscious. She never woke up. Doctors said she had a ruptured brain aneurysm and a massive stroke. She passed on October 12 - the day after my son's birthday.
Then on November 21st dad had his 2nd knee replacement (done by my boss!!) and he is currently recuperating from that. My daughter is hosting Christmas this year - which will be bittersweet without mom who always did Christmas, but as a family we will get through it.
Merry Christmas everyone. I'm off as of Friday and will try to get on more next week while I'm off.
Edit to add - grandma bragging - that's my granddaughter in my avatar. She loved Santa last year at 6 months - but this year at 18 months she was terrified of him - if you look close you can see the tears in her eyes!! lol

Kim, I am so sorry to know that your mother has passed away. Death is never easy to take, but time does heal all wounds as they say.I'll be praying for you and your family.
On a happier note....your little granddaughter is precious and looks like a little doll sitting on the avatar. Little ones can bring you so much joy. I now have 2 great-granddaughters...one will be 3 years old in February...one was 4 years old in July and I have a great-grandson that will be 2 months on January 7th. They all belong to my grandson and his sweet little wife.
Here's hoping you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Kim,
I’m so sorry about your mom. You are a true blessing to your dad and everyone around you.
Renovating, selling and moving house 🏡 is such a major life event. So much work.
I’m glad that Christmas and playing with your granddaughter are very near.

Hey everyone - sorry I haven't been here. A lot has been going on and my life has been in a bit of a downward spiral. I'm taking some time to myself to get life sorted out. I hope to be back amongst you all in the not too distant future.
