This thread is one that I've wanted to do for a very long time. It is a debate about the most impactful song of an artist or group. Three submissions and a bonus track of each artist should be sufficient to determine what song is the best… in the writers opinion only. I don't know how this is gonna play out but this game certainly is a distraction from all the problems in the world… Let's play!

I know a lot of times the most heartfelt songs are the ones that are never heard ~such as this one from Sawyer Brown.

Are you going to post 3 songs from each artist or do you have something else in mind?
I love the Sawyer Brown song.

Yes I was thinking three songs per artist per category. So sawyer brown would be under the 90s country groups. As you can see that can be an endless amount of categories in the country genre alone. I've had this discussion before with Mancina and he clarify did it wasn't about winning it was about keeping the music history alive. I thought that was profound. Anyway I am at a conundrum as to should one person Post to three videos be chosen as to which song was the best. Or the players each submit a song.?

Here's another submission for the 90s country band Sawyer brown. I like it because it is a long video so I think the work involved in making this deserves recognition.

I love the idea of preserving the music history, love the second Sawyer Brown video too. The first one is my favorite of the first two.
I’ll out on my thinking cap for some of my favorite older songs to submit.

This was a hidden track on a Gary album. So sad it'll make you weep.

Wow that is what I call a song! When a song makes me want to hear it again to me that's a good indicator of a good song… I listen to this one three times so far thanks for sharing. Do you know I have a friend on Facebook I've been trying to lure over here… is an absolute encyclopedia of country musics history… buddy's manifesting his destiny... He wants to die.… just playing tired of this life. To be truthful our conversations are helping me more than they are him. Hopefully I have reached a plateau where I could not see myself stealing a dime… much less tell a lie. I know my family it's probably like most families in that they portrayed the most beautiful life in the world... And we know that's not Reality.… but if it works for them… It's on them! It would have been nice for the kids in the song to have gotten a real education… how to keep a checkbook how to get a job… And keep it… the best ways to save. So that is the conservative way… the left way seems to be brainwashing the kids into thinking they're so entitled just for being alive that is their right to take it… no matter the consequences. It seems that the kids could be the victim of their own environment… that is the liberal stance. The moderate stance which I am aspiring to be is that people are responsible for their own lives… they should be taught to be inherently good not politically correct... I admire the man in the song in a way that he had so many friends what was it 5 miles long.? I'll be lucky to thumb a ride to the graveyard when my time comes… but that's OK with me as long as I can get there overnight. Not to be morbid or anything but whoever does give a ride Will be handsomely rewarded.… I hope this gives my online buddy reason to hang on... He always recommended Gary Allan... And still does.

So for my third and final submission for the 90s Country music group category… Sawyer Brown. I love the song all these years… very depressing and uplifting at the same time. I love studio albums because they sound so much better the music videos Somehow. This cut captures all I wanna say about Sawyer Brown I guess.
Now onto the 90s country music artist male... Mr. Gary the songwriter Allen.

Michael,
I'll keep your friend in my prayers. I hope he joins us on this board more often.
Son and I saw Gary in concert a few years ago. He's absolutely perfect live. Hits everything just right.

OMG I was hoping you'd pick that song as your third Sawyer Brown submission. I have absolutely loved that song for decades. My heart breaks listening to it every time.

Michael,
Maybe your friend, also a Gary fan, would like to submit the second in the series of best Gary songs?
Gary has always been one of my top 5 favorites and I've had all his music since day one. There is such a wealth of music to choose from.

There is such a wealth of music to choose from. Yes you're right… I will save the Gary Alan slot for Mike when he comes around... Geniuses have weird ways about them and he is laying low at this time... I remember needed that space quite often and still do. But I did tell him that I was talking about him over here and he might wanna come sit around and listen to while... A bunch of the old country weekly forum folks are still hanging around on the Facebook side streets on the poor side of town. Seems like Facebook is reflection of society in the way that it he's so fast paced with people everywhere… yet going nowhere but with an expert opinion on everything. I remember one fun game somewhere… Where you were to name your favorite nighttime dessert. My submission was corn bread and butter milk... If I could've seen people's faces...well that would've been a Kodak moment.

I think we should have a sub sub sub category for the three best Willie Nelson duets. The man has sang with everyone.
