Trace Adkins Says 'Apprentice' Has Low ExpectationsMay 10th 2011 by Gayle Thompson theboot.com Ethan Miller, Getty Images Trace Adkins was the first country singer to compete on NBC's 'Celebrity Apprentice,' and now with the success that John Rich has had this season, the 'Honky Tonk Badonkadonk' singer has found a pattern. "Probably the best thing that we have going for us, and I'm speaking for country people in general when we're put in those situations, nobody expects anything of us," the Trace explains (quote via CMTT). "We go in with those low expectations and then when we perform the way we do ... we sneak up on them." Trace's theory may be correct, especially once you look at how far each country singer to participate has gone. John just joined Lil Jon, actress Marlee Matlin and rock star Meat Loaf as one of this season's final four contestants. Clint Black came in fifth in Donald Trump's 2009 boardroom, and Trace made it to the final round of the show in 2008, before losing to talk show host Piers Morgan. John has raised more than $700,000 for St. Jude Children's Hospital this season, but he might not have had the opportunity, if it hadn't been for Trace. "After I finished the season that I was on, they asked me, 'Do you have any suggestions for us for somebody else from the country music world?'" Trace recalls to The Boot. "Before they even got it out of their mouth, I said, 'John Rich. You've gotta go for John Rich. Trust me. He'll give you what you want. He'll come in here an take over. He'll probably fire you.' [laughs]" 'Celebrity Apprentice' airs Sundays on NBC at 9:00 PM ET. www.theboot.com/2011/05/10/trace-adkins-john-rich-celebrity-apprentice/

"The home Trace Adkins shares with his family has been lost in a fire that began early Saturday evening," the spokesperson said. "Thankfully, Mr. Adkins, his wife Rhonda and their three daughters are unharmed." Adkins was flying to Alaska for a concert next week when the fire consumed his house in Brentwood near Nashville. Their daughters who were home and a sitter quickly escaped the house. The full Brentwood Fire Department was sent to the scene and the department was expected to remain there well into the night, a fire dispatcher said. OFFSTAGE: Trace Adkins’ Fire Safety Drill Worked
06/6/11, 1:00 pm EDT
"Trace kept going, 'When you gonna take that ribbon down?' and I'm like, 'You know, I might need it one day.'" Those are the words of Rhonda Adkins, Trace's wife, who did not cave in and take that yellow ribbon down from a big tree in the front yard of their Nashville home. Thank God she didn't. That ribbon was a lifesaver on Saturday afternoon (June 4) when a dryer in the garage reportedly burst into flames that spread to the attic and the house.
The Adkins' three daughters were home at the time of the fire and followed an emergency plan the family put in place after their girls learned about fire safety programs in school. Now a message on Adkins' website says, "The Adkins family request that you take time to practice Fire Safety drill with your family, learn more at firesafety.gov and firehouse.com."
After a neighbor called, Rhonda told CNN, "She said that the house was on fire and we looked up in the air and we saw the black smoke. And I said, 'Oh my God, this isn't happening, this isn't real." She credits the firefighters who taught her kids about the importance of a plan with saving her kids' lives. She urges everyone to do the same. "Please, everybody, practice fire safety, and back up all your pictures," she said, since her wedding pictures and negatives were lost in the fire.

Trace Adkins’ House Fire Apparently Caused by Electrical Problem
06/6/11, 4:30 pm EDT
The weekend fire that destroyed Trace Adkins' home was apparently caused by an overheated or loose electrical connection in a power strip located beneath a workbench in the garage, investigators told The Tennessean newspaper in Nashville. The fire was reported at 3:35 p.m. Saturday (June 4) and had spread to the attic, completely engulfing the house in flames by the time firefighters were able to arrive a few minutes later. The 5,000-square-foot home was located in a subdivision in Brentwood, Tenn., a suburb located south of Nashville. A specific dollar amount of the total damage has not been determined. The losses included Adkins' Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Cadillac Escalade, along with many personal items of sentimental value. Two of his daughters were at home with a nanny at the time of the fire, but they evacuated the house immediately, and no one was injured. Adkins was en route to Alaska for a short fishing trip before concerts Wednesday (June 8) in Fairbanks and Thursday in Anchorage. Upon being notified of the fire, he immediately returned to Nashville to be with his wife Rhonda and their children. As of Monday, he had not canceled the Alaskan concerts or a Saturday performance at Nashville's LP Field during the CMA Music Festival's nightly concert series.

Trace Adkins Sausage Brand Hits Grocery Stores
Trace Adkins has always been a fan of the locally-made Hightower Country Smoked Sausage he grew up eating in Northwest Louisiana as a kid, so when he had the opportunity to become a part of the family-owned and run company, he jumped at the chance. The singer recently announced he's partnering with owner Marvin Hightower and Hightower Enterprises to bring Trace Adkins Hightower's Country Smoked Sausage exclusively to the Brookshire Grocery Company chain.
The sausage company has been a family-run company in Louisiana for the past 40 years, and now they're welcoming the country star into that family as well. Trace's sausage will be available in 152 stores in three states, Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas.
"When you think about home cooking, you think about family and tradition," says Trace. "The Hightower's family business was a part of my family's meals growing up. I'm happy to join them as they expand beyond Louisiana to all the families served by Brookshire Grocery Company stores."
Trace has been taking a down-home family approach to his recent touring as well, toning down his usual show a bit for his stripped-down Songs And Stories tour.
"I've had many narrow escapes and blessings in my life," the singer explains. "The right song at the right time has been my saving grace and that's something I have in common with the audience. Sharing meaningful songs, stories and some laughs 'around the campfire' is the country music tradition."

Trace Adkins Gifts Randy Houser With ‘Badonkadonk’ Baby BookJerry Markland, Getty Images / Twitter Randy Houser and his wife Jessa Lee Yantz Houser welcomed their first child, sweet little baby boy West Yantz Houser, into the world on Tuesday, March 6. And now, just a month later, their good friends Trace Adkins and his wife Rhonda have gifted them with a little something special to help guide them in parenthood. Rhonda Adkins took to Twitter today (April 13) to post a picture of the present she and her country star husband are giving the couple: Dr. Sears’ The Baby Book. Sure, it sounds like a pretty traditional gift (what parent out there hasn’t turned to Dr. Sears for a little advice?), but this guide is even more significant because of what’s on the cover. Lined up in a row are the four little babies facing away from the camera with their tiny bare tushes taking front and center stage. And to make the present more personal, scribbled in all caps beneath the rumps is the giant word ‘BADONKADONK’ — yep, just a little love coming from the ‘Honky Tonk Badonkadonk’ singer and his sweet wife. Trace Adkins also wrote his name beneath the markered word, making sure it’s obvious who the unique gift is from. While little West can’t yet get a good laugh out of the bare-bottomed badonkadonk photo, we’re guessing Mom and Dad certainly will. Upon learning of the gift on the way, Houser tweeted, “Ha! Does this thing include info on how to breathe with baby pee in my nostrils? Thank y’all!” Apparently, he’s having a great time learning how to be a new dad to a little boy. Just last month, Houser shared a photo of his newborn son via Twitter, and he and his wife have both tried to put words their joy on the social media site more than once, describing little West as “sweet,” “super handsome” and “the most beautiful son in the world.” Houser said in a recent interview that touring is getting more difficult for him now, since he knows he has to leave his newborn son and wife at home.

Trace Adkins Reflects on ‘Surreal’ House Fire, Shares Family’s Progress
It’s been nearly a year since Trace Adkins‘ Brentwood, Tenn., home was destroyed by an electrical fire. And even though the tragedy lies many months behind Adkins, his wife Rhonda, and their five daughters, the patriotic country singer still vividly remembers the day he and his family lost everything. Of course ‘everything’ only applies to the Adkins family’s material possessions. The ‘Just Fishin” singer is quick to point out in a recent interview with the Tennesseean that he’s never been a material guy, and losing his entire home in a fire affirmed that.
“It wasn’t as traumatic as it could have been,” Adkins says. “And I think the best thing that came out of the whole thing for me, and it’s an affirmation of something that I already suspected, that I wasn’t that much of a material guy. I’m not a slave to material things. I always kind of thought that, but after that I knew it. I’m not.”
The day the the home caught fire, two of Adkins daughters youngest were inside the home with their nanny. Luckily, the nanny acted quickly to pull the girls from the burning house, and a kind neighbor helped save their animals. When Rhonda Adkins returned home from her errands, it was obvious the house was going to burn to the ground.
The country star was en route to Alaska when his home engulfed in flames. By the time his seven-hour flight landed and he turned his phone on, his wife and family had informed him via text and voice messages that everything was already gone. Not one to get his feathers ruffled about much, Adkins canceled his fishing trip and scheduled performances in Alaska and returned home right away.
Just one week after the blaze, Adkins was interviewed about the incident by a radio station. “I was going to shave a couple of days ago, and I don’t even have a razor; there’s something that always comes up,” he said. “I got two hats left, a pair of boots, I got a guitar, truck and a great job, and my family is healthy, so I am good.”
In the 11 months since the fire took place, Adkins and his family have moved into a rental home and they have finalized the blueprints for their next house. The singer — who just turned 50 and hasn’t slowed down a bit — has been working like a mad man.
Currently, he’s in the midst of his intimate Songs and Stories theater tour, which will take him all over the U.S. During stops in a few select cities, he’ll be taping his new GAC TV series ‘Great American Hero.’ The series will highlight organizations and individuals who are making small towns a better place to live.
“You can’t help but be moved by the things these people are doing. Everybody ends up crying,” he says, in reference to the series. “You get older and you mature a little bit and you start slowing down and you pay a little more attention to what’s going on around you, and maybe you just want to savor all the good that you can find, especially in this world today. Everything seems to be so crazy; we need a little bit of kindness to alleviate some of it.”
Despite a major tragedy, it seems like Trace Adkins is doing just fine.

Trace Adkins Takes Over NYC’s Hard Rock Cafe for Sounds of Summer Show – PicturesBy Amy Sciarretto May 18, 2013 tasteofcountry.com Trace Adkins was the king of the world — or at least of NYC — on Wednesday, May 15. The country superstar, last seen with a busted foot, performed at Manhattan’s famed Hard Rock Cafe as part of a special engagement for SiriusXM listeners, members of the Red Cross and the USO. The performance was part of the Sounds of Summer programming. Adkins delivered his known hits as well as tracks from his new album, ‘Love Will…’ at the show. Dressed in jeans, a black tee and his trademark hat, the singer showed his moxie and his muscle. Of these photos, our favorite is the one of the rough-and-tumble singer atop the Hard Rock marquee. Adkins really did stage a coup of NYC and the heavily trafficked midtown area. From a distance, you could almost mistake him for fellow country icon Tim McGraw. Almost.

Trace Adkins’ Wife Files For Divorce
2014 has not been a kind year to Trace Adkins.
Country hitmaker Trace Adkins and his wife Rhonda are calling it quits after 16 years of marriage.
Rhonda filed for divorce in a Williamson County Tennessee courtroom on Tuesday afternoon, reports Nashville’s WSMV.
Citing ”irreconcilable differences,” Rhonda is asking for primary custody of the couple’s three daughters, child support, alimony, and for Adkins to cover her legal fees.
This news comes on the heels of a tough 2014 for the singer. In January, Adkins entered a rehabilitation facility to be treated for alcoholism after being involved in an altercation with a Trace Adkins impersonator on board Country Cruising 2014. Shortly thereafter, Adkins left rehab to be by his father’s side before he passed away.
