Jolene, it's so good to see you here again! I've really been concerned about you! Also thought a lot about your mother! Been missing all your posts and videos. I would loved to have seen this part with George on TV , but I think it was on Wednesday night and we were in church service then....so thanks for putting it here! Really do enjoy George's videos! Sure miss his concerts! Don't stay away so long!

Sorry if this has already been posted.
George Strait will be releasing "Strait Out Of The Box Set" Part 2 in November exclusively through Wal Mart. He recorded a couple of new songs for it. I forgot the date, but I'm thinking it's the 19th.....but don't hold me to that. Can't wait to get it even though I probably have all the songs that's on it except the new ones. Sure miss him!

Jolene, I have no idea what the 2 new songs are. I hate to admit it, but I was a "little" disappointed in George's latest CD. Not being an alcohol drinker...there were too many of that type songs on it.
I have been playing a lot of my Jim Reeves CD's lately and have bought several that I didn't have in my collection...mainly "live" CD's. Also bought his only movie..."Kimberley Jim". His "live" CD's are "The Lost Recordings" which most of it was from the Grand Ole Opry, his Jim Reeves "Live" At The Grand Ole Opry", and his "The Unforgettable Jim Reeves "Live" which has his only concert "Live" with the Nashville Symphony and "Live" show he did in Oslo, Norway, which to me the Oslo show was worth the price of the CD. I know this last paragraph probably don't belong on a George Strait thread, but I just wanted to share the reason I've been playing a lot of Jim Reeves lately. He has always been in the top of my favorites with Eddy Arnold, Jim Ed Brown and George Strait. When we were all on the Country Weekly Forum and the thread that was called something like "Who is your favorite singer"....I posted those four and I was told...oh, you like those polished singers. I can't remember his name right now, but he lived in Houston and was a big George Jones fan.

Jane,
I just saw your last post. I did like George's songs about drinking because they were actually anti-drinking songs. It made me think that George knows someone (and everybody seems to) who drinks too much.
I've always loved Jim Reeves.
That sounds like JimboBean or SamHouston. I get their screen names confused at this late date but that's understandable since they are brothers. Jim lives in Austin and Sam lives in Houston.
The Houston Rodeo concert lineup was announced and it always makes me want to see George's name on the list. This year, among others, it'll be Aaron Watson, Willie Nelson, Chris Stapleton, Alan Jackson, Dierks, Brad, Luke, Chris Young, Zac Brown Band and ZZ Top.

Jolene, Sam Houston was the one who said that about me liking "polished" singers. I didn't realize that JimBean and Sam Houston were brothers. By the way...Sam Houston was kind enough to mail me a CD he made from a tape of the Austin City Limits that you put on here. He also sent it to (I can't remember her name right now,) but she was a huge George Strait fan on the CWO forum. One time she posted on there that in her next life she would come back as George Strait's wife....or something like that. She passed away when we were all on CWO. You are younger than I am so maybe you'll remember her name.

Jolene, I just remembered the name of the lady on CWO that I mentioned in my last post.....it was Dolores. She lived in west Texas and passed away while we were all still on the forum.

I always agreed with Dolores....George Strait is the world's most perfect man. I'll be seeing him tomorrow night in Vegas.
