Laurie, you are SO lucky getting to see George Strait. Unless he expands his touring venues I might not ever get to see him again.

When the Cowboy rode away, I think he meant it....he's doing 12 shows a year in Vegas (I think its 12, could be 16, weekends only). Who knows, I may go back...he totally rocks my musical world. He did a full 2 hour set with a 4 song encore. Kacey Musgraves opened. She was really fun, even came out to sing a couple with the Man!

Hi Jolene! MY! It's so good to hear from you! I have thought a lot about you and wondered if you were OK! It's such a relief to see you here! I am doing really good and hope you are, too! A lot has happened since we last "talked". My hubby and I went to Destin, Florida with our oldest son and his wife and were gone for eleven days. Then 2 weeks ago tomorrow my hubby had hernia surgery. He's doing better and we will be great-grandparents again in November. Our grandson and his wife that has the 2 little girls will be blessing us with a little great-grandson this time.
I sure hope you weren't effected by Hurricane Harvey!
I've been posting some on Elton Britt's thread. I've always been a fan of his, but I've become a huge fan since I have discovered so many great songs of his and I LOVE his yodeling. Also, I discovered that his song "There's A Star Spangled Banner Waving Somewhere" was the very first song to win a gold record and sold 4 million copies. He had the most versatile voice I believe I've ever heard.
Once again....it is so good to see you back! Hope to see you here more often!

Hiya Jane, You have all sorts of good news. : ) Another little baby and a boy this time. They are sooooooo sweet. I know you are beside yourself with happiness. What a wonderful thing...an almost two week vacation with family in Florida. I'm glad you aren't in Florida this week though. Those poor folks. My heart and prayers are with them through Irma and as they recover. I'm glad your wonderful hubby is recovering well from his hernia surgery. I worry about you both. I'll have to do some surfing and discover more abut Elton Britt. I do so love a good yodel and since you have such excellent taste in music, I have a feeling I'm in for an extra special treat. : ) Harvey flooded all around us...north, south, east and west but we were absolutely fine. It's going to be a very long recovery for so many people. We are, as we see everywhere here, Texas Strong. I've been busier this past year as our son spends his days with me after he gets off work each day. It's a joy and an unexpected blessing. He will celebrate his first sober birthday October 4th. Another huge blessing. Hubby got his Lucky 7 sober birthday chip a couple of weeks ago. Another huge blessing. I miss you and this board and talking about music though and it's time I came back again. : ) Tomorrow and Tuesday I'm working hurricane relief at the food pantry. Jolene Save

Jolene, glad you wasn't affected by Harvey. That was a bad hurricane, but Irma looks like it has destroyed Florida! I feel so sorry for everyone in Houston AND Florida that was affected by them. I'm praying for all of them.
Have you checked out my thread on Elton Britt? I've put some videos of his on there and some articles, also. In my post above...I meant to say that Elton Britt received the first gold record ever in COUNTRY MUSIC! He had the most versatile voice I believe I have ever heard. He was known as the highest singing yodeler.
Changing subjects again...I got an email saying George Strait will be doing a concert in Austin. I don't think there was a date in it, but it will be in the Frank Erwin Center.
Again...I'm sure glad you are back as I've been missing you.

Jane,
I'm keeping the folks in Florida in my prayers. It's beginning to look like there's another storm headed in their direction in a week or ten days. What may become Maria.
That is really cool that George will be doing a concert in Austin. : )
I'm on my way over to Elton's thread to check him out now.
