Miranda Lambert to Co-Produce TV Show Based on Her Childhood
By: Amanda Hensel tasteofcountr.com
Now that Miranda Lambert has added the Female Vocalist of the Year prize to her basket, she’s gearing up for a completely different venture. The ‘The House That Built Me’ ACM winner is developing an hour-long show for ABC Family based on her childhood in Texas.
The show, according to the Hollywood Reporter, is a scripted drama and will focus on a family in Texas, where the parents are private investigators and the children help to solve crimes. We can’t confirm whether Lambert ever dabbled in her father’s business, but the storyline is mostly true-to-life — her dad did partner up with her mother as a P.I. after he retired as a police officer.
Lambert will act as an executive producer to the show, alongside her mother, Beverly Lambert, her manager, Marion Kraft, Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment and Scott Kaufer of Memphis Beat, who will also help write.
Lambert, who was raised in the 5,000-person town of Lindale, Texas, has climbed to great heights in the country music scene since winning ‘Nashville Star’ in 2003. Not only did she claim Female Vocalist of the Year for the third time at Sunday’s ACMs, the singer has also earned countless awards and praises for her single ‘The House That Built Me’ — including a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.
Additionally, the 27-year-old Texas musician — and soon to be television producer — pocketed Single Record of the Year, Video of the Year, and Song of the Year for the hit single at the ACM Awards just two days ago.

Miranda Lambert Ready to Focus on Wedding PlansBy Alla Byrne and Eileen Finan people.com Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert Byron Purvis/AdMedia Sunday's 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards proved a big night for Miranda Lambert, but now she's ready to focus on her big day: her upcoming wedding to Blake Shelton. "Obviously, it was a huge, amazing night," Lambert, 27, told PEOPLE of the ACM Awards. "Now I can go 'thank you' and plan the next thing, which is getting ready for the wedding. I'm glad I can focus on it from now until then because it's a huge thing to become a wife." Lambert was honored as favorite female vocalist, and for record of the year, video of the year and song of the year for her ballad, "The House that Built Me." It was also an important night for Shelton, who co-hosted the show, though he didn't bend under the strain of it. "All this pressure is coming at him and he's the same old jokester," Lambert said of her fiancé. "I'm so happy I can be there for him to hold him up – or I was ready to hold him up but I [didn't] need to because he [did] great on his own." "And he looked great!" Lambert added. "I'm like, 'Look, that's my hot fiancé!' "

Loretta Lynn Says Yes to 'Feisty' Miranda's Writing ProposalApr 11th 2011 by Lorie Hollabaugh theboot.com Rick Diamond, Getty Images Loretta Lynn knows a thing or two about talent after fifty years in the music business, so it's no wonder she can easily smell success for young singers coming up through the ranks. Take Miranda Lambert, for example. The Texas songbird had the chance to collaborate with Ms. Loretta and Sheryl Crow on a remake of the country legend's signature hit, 'Coal Miner's Daughter,' for last year's Loretta Lynn tribute album, and apparently she's eager to work with Loretta again -- this time on some new material. Miranda has appealed to Loretta to co-write a new song with her, and it sounds as if Loretta is definitely on board. "She is feisty! That girl's something else," Loretta tells the Toledo Free Press. "She wrote me a letter the other day, and she said it's time we start writing. And she sent me the idea for the song, so I'm going to have to call her and tell her let's get with it." Currently struggling with a slow recovery from surgery to repair torn cartilage in her knee, Loretta had to cancel several upcoming concerts and her planned appearance at the recent ACM Girls Night Out: Superstar Women of Country concert in Las Vegas, but the icon never slows down for long. She is planning on several new projects for the coming year, including an album with her sister, Crystal Gayle, and some new recordings of her previous material. "We've been trying to pick the songs and stuff for quite a bit," says Loretta. "Me and my sister Peggy Sue, my other little sister, she's singing backup for Crystal right now. So we're going to record an album. And I'm going to record all the No. 1s and then the Top Fives. And I'm doing a Christmas album, a religious album -- I've got some of them already recorded -- and another album of new stuff." And as if that weren't enough to make anyone tired, Loretta also spends some of her down time with a new hobby -- painting. "Piddlin' and painting, that's what I'm doing right now," she says. "I'm trying to paint some flowers, which I've never done before. Just playing, but I've got paint all over and all over me. I'm just starting. I'm afraid to try to paint anything more than a flower, because if I make a mistake, I can just make the flower bigger! [laughs]" Though she was absent from the recent ACM Girls Night Out tribute to the women who have made country great, her spirit was definitely present during the show's finale, when the honorees, including Miranda, the Judds, Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles, all took the stage to perform a rousing rendition of 'Coal Miner's Daughter.' The special is set to air on April 22 on CBS.

Miranda Lambert: No Kids for a WhileBy Sara Hammel April 20, 2011 people.com Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert Frederick Breedon/WireImage Miranda Lambert is in the middle of planning her upcoming wedding to fiancé Blake Shelton – and having kids is not on her to-do list. "We have seven dogs, so we're just taking care of them," the bride-to-be, 27, tells the May issue of Health, on newsstands April 22. "We have so much going on right now, we're gonna wait a while. The dogs are really good birth control!" Lambert also gushes about her future husband, saying the pair are a solid match. "We balance each other out," the country star says of Shelton, 34. "He's constantly joking, and I'm more serious. He can make me laugh at any point." The curvy blonde, who earlier this month proudly proclaimed Shelton would love her at any size, also opens up about the pressure celebrities can feel to be waif-thin. "I'm a normal-size girl, and I'm fine with that," she says. "All these stars are so tiny, and they spend their lives trying to be skinny. I want to look my best, but I'm not a model. I'm not an actress. I'm representing normal girls." Miranda Lambert

Lambert goes to the dogs
Wednesday, May 11, 2011 – Miranda Lambert's annual fundraiser for animals raised almost $300,000, she announced Wednesday.
The fourth Annual "Cause For Paws" Benefit, held in Tyler, attracted more than 7,000 people for a concert with Lambert, Stoney LaRue and Josh Kelley.
Through ticket sales, sponsorships and live auction items, this year's event raised more than $294,000 bringing the total amount from the last 4 years to almost $600,000. Proceeds will go toward MuttNation, Lambert's foundation that supports animal shelters, and the Humane Society of East Texas. Since Lambert started the foundation, The Humane Society of East Texas has become a no-kill shelter.
"This year, we took our event to the streets of Tyler to open it up to a broader fan base for both Miranda and the shelter," said Bev Lambert who is the Director of MuttNation and the singer's mother. "There was no shortage of support in this community. Going from 1,000 to over 7,000 in attendance was quite the feat, and we are more than thrilled with the outcome."
"It was wonderful to come home to Tyler again for Cause for the Paws this year," Lambert said. "It's a moving experience to see all of the support for a cause that is so close to my heart. I am so thankful to my fans and everyone who came to be part of this day and help these animals."
In addition to volunteering at the local shelter, Lambert adopted her dog Delilah there, who joins her other rescue animals Jesse, Waylon, Delta Dawn, Cher, Black Betty, Virginia Bluebell and cats Shelley, Maxine, and Suzie Q as well as farm animals.

Miranda Lambert talks ‘Revolution,’ Pistol Annies and whether she and Blake Shelton will tour togetherJune 13, 2011 by Cindy Watts thetennessean.com Miranda Lambert performs at the 2011 CMA Music Festival (photo: Larry McCormack/The Tennessean) Miranda Lambert has more than one new union to talk about right now — in addition to her May marriage to fellow country singer Blake Shelton, she’s also been in the studio with her new trio, Pistol Annies. Lambert says the group — comprised of fellow singer songwriters Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley — provides an outlet for different aspects of her creativity. She talked about Pistol Annies, her new hubby and her relationship with her fans before going onstage at LP Field Sunday night during the CMA Music Festival. You’ve been incredibly busy. You just released a single, but it isn’t a Miranda Lambert single, it’s a Pistol Annies single (“Hell on Heels”). Can you talk about going back and forth between the projects? It’s been crazy. I did start a band, Pistol Annies, a couple of years ago. We were in the studio a couple of months ago. We did six tracks and then we decided to do a full album so we went back in. Then this last week I’ve been in the studio working on my own new record and then the last day of that recording we added on Pistol Annies. So, it’s been all over the map creatively, but it’s so good for me. It gets my creative juices flowing when I have the girls. It took a lot of work and my manager did a great job. We really wanted to capitalize on this big night, and I get to have the girls with me. Our single “Hell on Heels” came out on our website (PistolAnnies.com, Sunday). It’s not on iTunes yet, but we’re working on that. It’s been really fun. It’s been cool to have to balance the two and really focus on just music the last month. It’s just been straight recording with me in the studio. I’m really excited. Can you talk about CMA Fest this week and your fan club party? We did a fan club party this morning. There were 500 people there. The first fan club party I ever had was seven years ago or maybe eight. It was 15 people at the Residence Inn on Elm Hill Pike and we had pizza, so it’s definitely changed a lot since then. But I also had the girls Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley from Pistol Annies there and we sang to my fans and we sang some songs to my fan club. Your fan club is your core. They are the ones that go out and spread the word about your music and so now they’re on the Pistol Annies bandwagon, which is great. And tonight we get to get up on the stage. Even in soundcheck today, we were just looking out at that stadium and it’s just so huge and it’s really exciting to be in front of that many country music fans at one time. You’ve been with Blake for six years now. How has marriage changed your relationship?Marriage is great. It’s been awesome. We got married and saw each other for a week and then I haven’t seen him really. We passed in the hall earlier. We’re used to that. It’s kind of this routine for us to have our time together and then separate and go be who we are. But I love (marriage). People say it looks good on me, and I’m glad. I’m like, “I should have gotten married a long time ago, if it looks good on me.” You talked about being in the studio with Pistol Annies, but you’ve also been in for yourself. Talk about trying to do both at the same time and what we may hear from Miranda? I was in the studio the week after we got married. We had a week off and then I went straight into the studio that Sunday. Then Monday morning through Friday night I was there from like 10 a.m. to midnight recording my own solo record. I always get really, really stressed out and am on pins and needles. Four records — especially after Revolution, which was a career defining album for me — and we do it like old school. We holed up and made a whole album. We don’t do it here and there. And then Saturday the Pistol Annies came in, so I had to completely switch gears, but it’s really good because it shows so many different sides of myself that I didn’t know were there. The Pistol Annies is very housewife and raw and real country and my stuff is my stuff, I have everything from old country to rock ‘n’ roll. I’m excited. I think the new Miranda record, it’s different, but I think that’s what I have to do. I have to reinvent myself to keep it going. Do you feel like you have something to prove?I feel a lot less like I have something to prove. With success comes, “OK, I can get the chip off my shoulder a little bit now. People like it. Just shove it down their throat.” But also I still have to prove myself different every record to stay in the game and be an artist with a long career, and that’s my goal. I want to be here for years and years and to do that I have to keep reinventing myself musically. And a good outlet is to have the Pistol Annies thing because I can do something else and take my mind off my record for a minute and then go back to it with a fresh (eye). This weekend is all about building memories for fans. Are there any memories that stuck in your mind?I used to be one of the crazy fans at CMA Music Festival. I still am, I just get to be back here and that’s kind of scary. I came when it was called Fan Fair, the last year it was at the fairgrounds I was there. This is the time when artists say, “Thanks for giving us a job all year.” They buy our records and come to our shows and without the people here we can’t do what we do. It’s the only genre of music that has something like this. We are very accessible to the fans in country music, and I think they appreciate it, showing up in droves of 60,000 people four nights in a row. It’s really cool that we can say that in Nashville, “Look, our fans come here for four days to celebrate our music and the artists show up as well.” Can you talk about The Voice (the hit NBC vocal competition show on which Shelton serves as a judge) a little bit and how passionate people have become?Christina Aguilera fans are very intense, I’ve noticed. I thought my fans were intense. The Voice is really, really cool. When Blake came to me when he first got the offer for it and I didn’t know what it was and I was like, “You’re going to be gone in L.A. for three months? I don’t know.” But he felt good about it. And now, to me — and not just because I’m his wife — but he’s an amazing judge on there. He’s really showing a different side of him and he’s so involved with his contestants and now I’m attached to them and am crying over their performances. It’s really changed our life a little bit as far as there is a different level of eyes watching us, and the bigger that you get, the more people try and stir up crap. And it’s like, “We’ve been married for a month, will you all just hold on?” I’m really happy for him. I think it’s something that’s huge for him and not only for him but for country music because he is representing our genre and he’s doing a great job. Can you talk some more about Pistol Annies and why was there some big hurry to get the single out Sunday? And also how seriously are you taking this?Pistol Annies sort of happened organically on my couch with Ashely Monroe writing songs. And she introduced me to Angaleena Presley’s music and I fell in love with it. It’s just amazing. It’s everything but a goofy side project to me. It’s something that’s so close to my heart that I’m so passionate about that I have to make sure I focus on Miranda Lambert at times. But they’ve been out on tour with me, and I bring them out and it’s one of my favorite times on set because I get to step into a different role. Not only that, but they are great friends and it gets lonely on the road. So having two girls that do what you do and understand you and have moodiness just like you do because they are songwriters and artists and just support me. They watch my show every night from the side of the stage, and they don’t have to. It really makes you feel good that you can still band together, and I feel like it hasn’t been done for a really long time since The Trio and The Highwaymen, and I think it’s time for artists that share a passion to join together creatively and not let politics or what people think is the right way to do it get in the way. It’s definitely something that I hope will change the way record labels think and the way the politics in the music business think because I feel like a lot of times people get greedy and don’t want to share their artists and share their creativity. With us, there’s going to be three artists and three managers and three record labels, and the music should come first. We’re trying to set a precedent for something different. There was a hurry to get it out because we get to perform one song at the stadium tonight and I was like, “There’s going to be 60,000 people there that are going to be thinking of us tonight and I wanted to capitalize on the opportunity for people to get our music.” We don’t even have all of our stuff done behind the scenes. But it’s so important to us that we’ve been working hard to make sure that people can buy it while they are still passionate about it and while it’s the biggest music fest of country ever, we wanted Pistol Annies to be in there. Will you and Blake tour together? We would love to tour together. We did a little mini-tour together in 2009 to see if we would both live through it and we did. I almost killed him but then we made up. Right now it’s so crazy because our careers have started to rise at the same time and we’re so focused on what’s going on in our own careers right now, we’re waiting to make that step. That’s a big step to do a big tour together. We have Faith (Hill) and Tim (McGraw)’s shoes to fill. (Their combined tour Soul to Soul) was huge and we want to make sure we pick the right time. Not that we are comparing it to that, we just want it to be that big and that important and until it is, we’re not going to step out on that limb. If the time comes, I would love to have a duet with him. We’re just taking it slow. We’re also very different artists but the more we’ve grown closer, we’ve started to go together musically a little bit more so it would make more sense for a tour. Your life has been such a whirlwind since Revolution came out. Are you looking forward to a break?I feel like I need a break sometimes and then I have one and I’m like, “I want a gig. I want a gig.” I think it’s very important to have that balance. I had three weeks in May off. Some part of me wants to be home for two months straight but then I think I’ll go crazy because I have so much in me. I have a real strong drive to build an empire. That’s what I’m trying to do. And to build an empire, you don’t take off work. blogs.tennessean.com/tunein/2011/06/13/miranda-lambert-talks-revolution-pistol-annies-and-whether-she-and-blake-shelton-will-tour-together/#more-50146

Miranda Lambert Announces New Album, 'Four the Record' Posted Jul 8th 2011 11:30AM by Beville Darden
The wait will be over on November 1, 2011, for new solo music from Miranda Lambert. "I've been waiting so long to announce this!" the reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year gushed today on ABC's 'Good Morning America.' "My next record is called 'Four the Record,' and it's out 11/1/11." While the songbird's new husband, Blake Shelton, included a duet with his beloved, 'Draggin' the River,' on his last album, Miranda has yet to have a duet with her man on one of her critically-acclaimed projects. But that may change with 'Four the Record.' "We want to," Miranda says of future collaborations with her hubby. "Hopefully on my next record, we're going to!" As for newlywed bliss, Miranda jokes that it's working out so far simply because they never see each other. "It's hectic!" she says of both of their jam-packed schedules. "But it's working out." Miranda performed with her all-girl trio, Pistol Annies, on 'GMA' this morning, singing their debut single, 'Hell on Heels.' [Watch the performance below.] "It's a lot of fun," Miranda says of being in a band. "We all write songs together and we all have separate styles artistically on our own, but together we make up this chick group that sings about things most girls want to say but don't." Pistol Annies' debut album, also titled 'Hell on Heels,' will be out August 23. [/b][/font][/color]

Miranda and Blake Compete (and Tweet) for Morning TV Viewers Posted Jul 8th 2011 1:15PM by Stephen L. Betts
While it's common for married couples to fight over the TV remote, it's a little out of the ordinary for a couple to wage a battle over other people's remotes! Not surprisingly, though, that's the scenario that played out with newlyweds Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert when they appeared on competing morning shows Friday (July 8). While Blake was scheduled to appear on NBC's 'Today' show, Miranda was slated to take the stage at ABC's 'Good Morning America.' It didn't take long for the country couple to weigh in via Twitter regarding which performance fans should be tuning in to. "I just landed in NYC for Today Show tomorrow!" Blake tweeted Thursday. "If y'all are watching, I'll be the drunk guy singing with gray hair on the sides." Miranda quickly took exception to Blake's tweet, replying with her own tweet, asserting, "They won't be watching you. They will be watching me!" Shortly thereafter, though, Miranda added this sensible solution: "OK. Blake is on the Today Show tomorrow. Watch one, record the other. His fist is big, but my Pistol Annies are bigger! Hehehe." (The Pistol Annies, Miranda's trio with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, released their debut single, 'Hell on Heels,' in May.) "Blake, don't worry, everyone will TiVo you!" she added. Miranda seemed to believe she had a secret weapon when it came to getting fans to tune into GMA. "I have boobs," she jokingly shared with her Twitter followers. "True, but only two," Blake shot back. "Well, if you count Pistol Annies, I have six!" Miranda explained. "Are these common marital problems?" 'The Voice' coach asked. Watch both Blake on the 'Today' show and Miranda on 'GMA' in the video players below. Blake Shelton's 'Red River Blue' hits stores July 12, while Pistol Annies' debut disc drops August 23. Miranda also used her GMA appearance to announce that her new album, 'Four the Record,' (her fourth) will be released November 1.

Miranda Lambert Announces 2011 Release Dates for Her New Album + Pistol Annies’ Debut Album on ‘GMA’
While her husband, Blake Shelton, was rocking his hits over at the ‘Today‘ show, Miranda Lambert delivered a few of her own at ‘Good Morning America’ this morning. But that’s not all. Lambert also revealed the release dates of her new album, as well as the debut Pistol Annies album.
It’s official: Miranda Lambert’s new album, ‘Four the Record,’ will drop on November 1, following the release of Pistol Annies’ first album on August 23. Unquestionably, it’s slated to be a big holiday season for the Lindale, Texas hitmaker.
All morning long, while her ‘The Voice’ husband was off filming for the ‘Today’ show, the pair tweeted jabs back and forth about who would be garnering the most viewers, and even created their own hashtags. “On set of GMA! Who hoo!,” Lambert said, to which Shelton responded quickly, “Oh yeah?!! Well I’m on the set of Today!!! Like.. Today!!! I mean like today.. Now?.. You know.”
Like a good wife, ‘The House That Built Me’ singer reminded him that she has a pair of ‘boobs’ at her disposal — six total, if you count Pistol Annies. “I love u @blakeshelton. Your my Honey Bee!” she said later, which, of course, was followed by, “Awe… I love you too my little “white Liar”…” from her husband.
Post-show, Lambert tweeted, “Thank y’all for watching!! Pistol Annies Record is out aug 23! My new one ‘Four The Record’ is out 11/1/11,” which comes as a pleasant surprise to her fans.
While on ‘Good Morning America,’ Lambert chatted with host Robin Roberts about her big year: winning her first Grammy, snagging four CMA awards and becoming a newlywed. When asked whether she and Shelton might record a duet sometime, the singer revealed, “We want to, actually. Hopefully on my next record we’re going to!” referring to the new album, which drops in just a few months.
We can’t wait to see what Miranda Lambert and Pistol Annies have in store for us this fall!

Miranda Lambert prepares to sing emotional ‘Over You’ at ACM Awards
LAS VEGAS -- Miranda Lambert is set to show a another side of her personality on The Academy of Country Music Awards this year. Instead of coming out with a hard-charging song and setting things on fire like she’s done in the past, Lambert is performing “Over You,” her current single she penned with husband Blake Shelton about losing his brother as a teenager.
“The song was really personal to Blake and it was like a cool moment to share, writing the song together, and it was the first time he opened up to me about it,” Lambert says.
Since then, “Over You” has taken on even more meaning for the couple. Just as the song was being released as a single, Shelton’s father passed away, Lambert’s best childhood friend was killed in a car accident, and a dog that her parents had owned since she was a little girl unexpectedly died.
“It was kind of ironic, but not,” Lambert said over the timing of the single. “It was almost like God was sort of making this song happen for me right now because we didn’t choose it to be a single after all of that, we chose it before and then all of that happened. I really think it’s a song that makes you face the emotion of losing somebody. Sometimes it’s easy to just suppress it and not talk about it or think about it, but this song really brings that out. So many people have written into the website telling me their story of who they lost and how they feel and how this song just describes. It’s really not a fancy song. It’s a simple song about the way that you feel and the little things that trigger that sadness.”
Lambert explains that it’s a different type of song for her to perform and that some nights she has to scratch it off the set list because she knows she’ll start crying.
“But I’m really proud to have this emotional connection on a show like this because I really haven’t done something like that before. I just think it’s a song that’s from a real place in me and I know people can see that.”

Miranda Lambert Fans Robbed at Gunpoint Following Tulsa Concert
Miranda Lambert‘s ‘Gunpowder & Lead’ hit a little too close to home for three Lambert fans who were robbed at gunpoint at a McDonald’s following the country star’s show Thursday night (April 12).
Lambert performed at Tulsa, Okla.’s BOK Center in her husband’s home state, and after the show three fans stopped by the fast food restaurant to get something to eat before heading home to Midwest City, according to Oklahoma’s News 9.
Police say the fans — who were sporting homemade Miranda Lambert t-shirts — were in McDonalds when a man approached them with a gun and demanded cash. Though he only got $7 out of the deal, the man took what he could get and then ran from the scene. Police are on the hunt for him, though he thankfully did not harm any of the three women.
Tonight (April 13), Lambert and crew are headed to Little Rock, Ark. with the Four the Record Tour. When she’s home between tour stops, Lambert has been busy this week trying to decide whether or not to keep a sweet little stray dog she found by the side of the road that bears a striking resemblance to Batman. Though fans seem to be hoping the tiny pup will find a home in the singer’s household, the dog lover recently tweeted about the decision, simply saying, “it’s being discussed” with a smiley face added at the end.
