Miranda Lambert Fans Robbed at Gunpoint Following Tulsa Concert
Miranda Lambert‘s ‘Gunpowder & Lead’ hit a little too close to home for three Lambert fans who were robbed at gunpoint at a McDonald’s following the country star’s show Thursday night (April 12).
Lambert performed at Tulsa, Okla.’s BOK Center in her husband’s home state, and after the show three fans stopped by the fast food restaurant to get something to eat before heading home to Midwest City, according to Oklahoma’s News 9.
Police say the fans — who were sporting homemade Miranda Lambert t-shirts — were in McDonalds when a man approached them with a gun and demanded cash. Though he only got $7 out of the deal, the man took what he could get and then ran from the scene. Police are on the hunt for him, though he thankfully did not harm any of the three women.
Tonight (April 13), Lambert and crew are headed to Little Rock, Ark. with the Four the Record Tour. When she’s home between tour stops, Lambert has been busy this week trying to decide whether or not to keep a sweet little stray dog she found by the side of the road that bears a striking resemblance to Batman. Though fans seem to be hoping the tiny pup will find a home in the singer’s household, the dog lover recently tweeted about the decision, simply saying, “it’s being discussed” with a smiley face added at the end.

Miranda Lambert Likes to Be Treated ‘Normal’You would think that landing on People magazine’s most beautiful people list (not to mention being an award-winning artist) would give Miranda Lambert a big head. After all, she’s netted awards for her good looks, plus scored nominations and wins from the Academy of Country Music, CMT Music Awards, Grammy Awards and more. But that hasn’t morphed the sassy country singer into anything else. She insists she’s the same down-home girl that she’s always been. Of course, even if Lambert feels like she’s still a normal person, the rising success of her and her husband, Blake Shelton, has kept the happy couple in the public eye. Now, when they go out shopping or to the movies, people recognize them. “I like it when people just treat me normal, ’cause I’m just a normal girl. I just happen to have a really great job,” Lambert explains to Country Music Is Love. ”And it’s definitely different on different levels that you reach. For Blake and I, it’s not really…we can’t just go to Walmart anymore. It’s different since this…we’ve both reached this different level in our careers which is…it’s a good thing but it’s also sometimes like you can’t do normal things at certain times because you…we have to remember, ‘Oh, people think we’re famous,’ (laughs) so we have to sort of be careful about those things.” If you pay attention to Blake and Miranda’s Twitter accounts (follow Miranda here and Blake here), or what they say about their simple life in the media, you’ll know that the now-famous country couple likes to live a simple life. They still fold their own laundry, and enjoy date nights at home. “We love just to go and go home and ride four-wheelers and hunt and fish, and we are exactly who you would think we would be, on and off stage, you know, there’s not really a difference, and we don’t have a lot to hide,” Lambert says. “Both of us are pretty open and honest, and our fans pretty much know everything about us, and we like that about our relationship with our fans.” If Lambert and Shelton do have something to hide, they won’t be able to keep it under wraps for long. Both singers are known for being honest and open on social media outlets. Besides, now that they’re famous, there’s always someone watching. Source

Miranda Lambert Cancels Upcoming Concerts Per Doctor’s Orders
It’s hard to imagine tough-as-nails country gal Miranda Lambert getting so sick that she has to cancel shows, but unfortunately, that’s exactly what has happened this week. The normally energetic country star was slated to play at Jam in the Valley in Varysburg, N.Y. tonight (July 6), but according to Jam in the Valley officials, the ‘Over You’ hitmaker “has taken ill and has canceled all performances for this weekend as per her doctor’s orders.”
“Due to overextending her voice, Miranda Lambert has been placed on vocal rest,” the ‘Over You’ singer’s publicist told the Boot. “She’s under the care of her doctor and she hopes to return to the road next weekend.”
A hiatus will surely be tough for Lambert, who never likes to let her fans down. Lambert was supposed to head to Scranton, Pa. after Jam in the Valley to play for a jam-packed crowd at the Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain. According to Toyota Pavilion’s Facebook page, that event has been postponed as well.
Despite the short notice of Lambert’s illness, Jam in the Valley organizers were able to snag Gretchen Wilson and Sawyer Brown to fill in for the last-minute cancellation. Organizers don’t have a strategy for reimbursing disappointed fans of the award-winning songstress just yet, but they ask that all ticketholders hang on to unused tickets and wristbands until they come up with a plan.
Our warm thoughts are with Lambert (and her husband Blake Shelton) as the popular country star tries to rest up and get back on her feet.

Miranda Lambert Releases “Mama’s Broken Heart” as New Single
Miranda Lambert has released “Mama’s Broken Heart” as her latest single. The track, co-written by Brandy Clark, Shane McAnally and Kacey Musgraves, is one of Miranda’s favorites. She’s already planning the video for the single.
“I love ‘Mama’s Broken Heart!’” she said. “It’s an awesome song, and it’s been going over really well live. I plan on making a stylized video for it, as well, so we are really excited.”
Fans and critics are also fans of the song. “This song is a classic country tune in the making,” wrote the Washington Post while Rolling Stone called it “…a fiendishly catchy tune atop a blazing cow-punk groove.”
Miranda’s road to stardom hasn’t been easy though. In Backstory: Miranda Lambert, premiering on GAC on January 19 at 8p|7c, Miranda and those who know her best will tell the story of how she went from a small town Texas girl to one of country music’s biggest stars and married one of country’s leading men, Blake Shelton, along the way.
Miranda is currently in rehearsals for her co-headlining Locked & Reloaded Tour with Dierks Bentley. The tour kicks off January 17 in Columbia, South Carolina.

Miranda Lambert Isn’t as Tough as She Looks
Miranda Lambert is featured on the cover of the February issue of Redbook, where she reveals she’s not as tough as she appears and when she has to be the ‘bad guy’ in her marriage with Blake Shelton. She also addresses her Twitter feud with Chris Brown, whom she called out following his performance on last year’s GRAMMY Awards.
“I didn’t feel right about not saying something,” she said. “The loudmouth that I am, I say what I think. I wanted everyone to know that I don’t agree with the message it’s sending to young women. It’s not okay. At all. To be celebrated after doing something like that. I don’t think it’s right, I never will, and I will stand by what I said till the day that I die.”
While Miranda looks tough on the outside, often sporting leather and studs, she’s got a soft heart underneath it all. She told the magazine she cries onstage at least once a week and admitted that having to perform after losing Blake’s father, her childhood best friend and her childhood dog over the course of two weeks was one of the hardest things she’s ever done.
“I went back onstage, and I wasn’t ready, but the crowd just embraced me,” she said. “I was like, ‘Okay, I’m really real. Like, all of this tough-girl image? My walls are down and all these people can see it.’ But it was a good moment for me. I just laid it out there, like, ‘I’m normal, I’m a girl, I have PMS, and I get emotional, and I’m sad sometimes, and that’s it.’ I feel like I got over the hump of trying to be like, ‘I have a chip on my shoulder, I’m strong all the time,’ you know? Because no one is.”
When it comes to her relationship with Blake, Miranda makes an effort to keep their personal lives private. Blake, on the other hand, is a people person and sometimes Miranda has to reel in her talkative husband.
“I’m more protective,” she said. “He’s the sweetest guy. Like, he will talk to anyone, sign anything, take a picture with everyone. And if I don’t stop it at some point, it ruins our whole night. I have to be the bad guy. The people are like, ‘Oh, God, don’t mess with her, she’ll murder people.’”
Miranda is currently in rehearsals for her co-headlining Locked & Reloaded Tour with Dierks Bentley. The tour kicks off January 17 in Columbia, South Carolina. She just released “Mama’s Broken Heart” as her latest single.

Miranda Lambert Says Working With Pistol Annies Involves Less Pressure Than Her Solo Career
Miranda Lambert is undeniably one of the hottest female solo acts in country music right now, with a string of hit singles and awards and a current hit album in ‘Four the Record.’ But she’s still committed to making time to work with Pistol Annies, the trio she formed with Ashley Monroe and Angeleena Presley. In a new interview, the spitfire country star says working with the group means she doesn’t have to always be at the center of every song — and she likes that.
“I love sharing the stage with my two talented, lovely friends, Ashley and Angaleena. It takes some of the pressure off me!” Lambert tells Lancaster Online (quote via Country Music Is Love). “They are amazing singer-songwriters, and when we get together, we always have a good time and create pretty original art. Our songs express things that most women think but just won’t say. It’s kind of a different vibe from my solo music, so it is great being able to be adventurous and to get Ashley and Angaleena’s voices heard.”
The trio’s first album, ‘Hell on Heels,’ came out in 2011, and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart. Lambert says they have been writing for a follow-up ever since, “and we really kicked it into high gear this past fall.”
She is currently on the road for the Locked and Reloaded Tour with Dierks Bentley, but the ‘Mama’s Broken Heart’ singer promises Pistol Annies fans that new music is coming soon: “[We] just finished recording our second album, so definitely look for it in 2013.”
