Toby Keith Plans Return To Europe
Following the sell-out success of his first ever European shows in 2009, Toby Keith has announced that he will be returning to Europe this October/November to play 12 shows across the UK, Holland, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
Toby Keith’s 2010 American Ride Tour ranked as one of Pollstar’s top outings of the year, bringing more than a million fans to venues across the USA, Canada, Korea, Germany, Afghanistan & Kyrgyzstan. The Oklahoma-based singer, songwriter and 2011 ACM Entertainer of the Year nominee has been drawing those kinds of crowds for a decade now, and with Toby Keith’s Locked & Loaded Tour, he’ll do it again.
Keith’s place as one of music’s most successful entertainers is reflected in the eight nominations and two wins he’s received in the ACM’s most prestigious category – ‘Entertainer of The Year’; since the turn of the millennium. Keith was also up for Best Male Country Vocal Performance at this year’s Grammys for “Cryin’ For Me,” his tribute to the late Wayman Tisdale.
Few self-contained artists in the history of the recording industry can boast as consistent and long-tenured a run on the charts as Toby Keith. He’s had more than 70 Million spins as a songwriter, and his number one hit song “American Ride,” was recently certified as a Gold digital single exceeding 500,000 downloads. His new album Bullets In The Gun debuted at No. 1 all-genre upon its launch in October 2010, rolling Keith into his 18th-straight year with a chart-topping album and/or single.

Toby Keith Plans First Bluebird Café Show
06/22/11, 3:30 pm EDT
Toby Keith will perform at the Bluebird Café in Nashville for the first time on Tuesday (June 28). He will be joined by songwriters Bobby Pinson and Scotty Emerick for the acoustic performance. Proceeds will help pay down the debt acquired by the Nashville Songwriters Association International when they purchased the respected songwriter venue in 2007. Admission is $75 for the general public and $150 for gold circle seats. Keith will play a Takamine guitar during the show, then autograph it and auction it to raise money for the organization. "God blessed me to be a songwriter first and foremost," Keith said. "I remember going to writers night at the Bluebird. It's great to have a place for songwriters to showcase their songs. It can open a door that just makes a song fly. Just one moment of inspiration and you're off. Nashville needs to keep the Bluebird alive and thriving."

Toby Keith’s Bluebird Café Show Raises $20,000
07/1/11, 1:00 pm EDT
Toby Keith's acoustic concert at the Bluebird Café in Nashville on Tuesday night (June 28) raised $20,000 for the Nashville venue that showcases songwriters. Keith performed in the round with fellow songwriters Scotty Emerick and Bobby Pinson for nearly three hours. To reach the grand total, Keith autographed two Takamine guitars and auctioned them for $5,000 each. "God blessed me to be a songwriter first and foremost," he said. "I remember going to writer's night at the Bluebird. It's great to have a place for songwriters to showcase their songs. It can open a door that just makes a song fly. Just one moment of inspiration and you're off. Nashville needs to keep the Bluebird alive and thriving." Keith launched his Locked & Loaded tour on Thursday night (June 30) in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. His latest single is "Made in America."

Go here to see what Toby has to say about those who are gay serving in the military. My two cents about it: I am not one to encourage a person to live a lifestyle that I believe goes against the word of the Lord, but if they are able to help out in something that needs to be done and they want to help out, I am not going to tell them that their help isn't needed because I also believe that many hands do make light work too. God bless Toby always!!! Holly

Toby Keith Unveils Signature Takamine GuitarRick Diamond, Getty Images Toby Keith has written award-winning songs, opened a chain of restaurants and even made appearances on the small screen. Now, the country crooner can add ‘guitar designer’ to his resume. Keith has recently unveiled his Signature Takamine EF250TK acoustic guitar and it’s a beauty. Keith brought his decades of experience playing guitar to the table when he designed this acoustic beauty to his exact preferences. The signature Takamine is loaded with special features, including a jumbo cutaway body and a solid spruce top. Details like the scalloped “X” bracing, mother-of-pearl fingerboard inlays and flame maple back and sides give the guitar a gorgeous sheen that’s so pretty it’s sure to wow even the folks sitting in the nosebleed section at Keith’s jam-packed performances. Of course, the ‘Hope on the Rocks’ hitmaker’s signature guitar isn’t just a pretty thing to look at. Thanks to Takamine’s Palathetic under-saddle pickup, CT4B II preamp with its three-band EQ, and volume control and built-in tuner, this axe is one that you can use to write a hit song. After all, Keith knows a thing or two about making hits. Last year, the popular country star released a series of drinking-themed singles, including ‘Beers Ago,’ ‘I Like Girls That Drink Beer’ and ‘Hope on the Rocks.’ All three of the tunes performed well on the charts, with ‘Beers Ago’ climbing to the top 10. Keith’s signature guitar wouldn’t be complete without…well…the country star’s actual signature. You can find his John Hancock on the heel cap and his silhouette image on a special headstock medallion.

Toby Keith Breaks San Antonio Rodeo Records!
On Saturday, Feb. 9th, Toby Keith broke all attendance records for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. Not only did he sell out the venue but it was the biggest crowd they have ever had since the event started in 1950. Keith’s next performance stop will also be in Texas at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on Feb. 25th.
And, as part of the Texas Heritage Songwriters’ Hall Of Fame Weekend, Toby Keith will be presented with an official certificate from the Office of the Governor hereby declaring Toby an Honorary Texan. Other notable Honorary Texans include Bob Dylan, Russell Crowe, Bob Hope and many others. The event will take place on Sunday, March 3rd, at ACL Live at The Moody Theater. The superstar will deliver a special performance in honor of his most loved songwriters, Roger Miller.

He said some of the most famous quotes ever,” said Toby Keith. “If you want to hear cleverness, you want to hear wit, and you want to hear charm – you want to hear a ‘Class A’ songwriter, it’s Roger Miller.”

www.uso.org/toby-keith-ten-years-of-uso-support/News Country Star Toby Keith Marks Decade of USO, Troop Support With 12-Day Tour Tuesday, April 24, 2012 Award-winning singer and songwriter Toby Keith celebrates a decade of touring the globe, performing shows and visiting troops with the USO during a five-country, 12-day USO tour. Traveling to the Middle East to lift the spirits of troops and their families, the megastar will continue his long-standing tradition of visiting remote forward operating bases and delivering a much-appreciated touch of home. Through his many appearances on behalf of the USO, Keith has quickly become synonymous with spreading smiles and cheer to troops stationed both abroad and stateside through live concerts and interactions. For Keith, 10 years have flown by, in the best way possible. "I can't believe it has already been a decade, it feels like just yesterday when I first started working with the USO," Keith said in a press release. "I've met so many great, brave servicemen and women over the years and had so many wonderful experiences, that I can barely remember them all. One thing is for sure, I enjoy working with the USO, I love our nation's troops and I won’t ever stop doing my part to extend my thanks." "The USO considers it a real privilege to have worked with Toby Keith over the last ten years," said USO President and CEO Sloan Gibson. "He has such a genuine interest in enhancing the lives of our nation's troops and is truly among our biggest and most recognized supporters. We can't thank him enough for all of the support he has shown us over the last decade and we look forward to many more years together."

www.tennessean.com/story/entertainment/music/2014/04/08/toby-keith-surprised-honor-salute-troops/7454933/Toby Keith surprised by honor at ‘Salute to Troops’ Cindy Watts, ciwatts@tennessean.com 7:31 a.m. CDT April 8, 2014 LAS VEGAS – Toby Keith thought he was just showing up to perform during the television taping for “ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute to the Troops” on Monday night at MGM Grand’s Garden Arena in Las Vegas. While that was true, there were also troops on hand to honor Keith. At the end of the more than three-hour program, Keith sang his final song, “American Soldier,” and turned to thank and shake hands with the military personnel on stage. He stood at the end of the line while a military officer and executive with the USO took the microphone. They explained that Keith had played 200 shows and entertained more than 250,000 men and women in uniform and their families. They announced Keith was being presented the Spirit of the USO Award, and Keith jerked around in surprise. “That caught me off guard,” the singer said. “I saw a need and a void the great Bob Hope left behind, and no one was filling it, but as hard as Big Dog Daddy tried, I couldn’t bring Marilyn Monroe.” Fans can (likely) watch Keith be presented the award when “ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute to the Troops” airs on television at 8 p.m. May 20 on CBS. Because the live show has not yet been edited for television, it is unknown what will make the cut. In addition to Keith’s performance and award, an array of country stars performed with members of the military Monday night. The service men and women both sang and played instruments. Army Spc. Kelly A. Gregg earned the night’s biggest applause for her performance of “If I Die Young” with The Band Perry. Gregg swapped lines with singer Kimberly Perry, and the crowd was so enamored that it spent the song on its feet and started chanting “one more time” after the song was over. It was the only encore of the night. Carrie Underwood didn’t sing with a member of the military. She couldn’t. She wrote a brand new song, “Keep Us Safe,” to sing on the show, with proceeds from its sale benefiting Lifting Lives, the charitable arm of the Academy of Country Music Association. Other performers included Lady Antebellum with Marine Corps Capt. John Ed Auer and Marine Corps Capt. Matt Smith on “Compass,” Florida Georgia Line on “People Back Home,” George Strait and Merle Haggard on “The Fightin’ Side of Me,” and Keith Urban, who sang with Navy sonar technician Destiny Mills Coates on “For You.”

He’s holding court with his usual crew–business partners, not groupies–and he’s mischievously daring me to eat the worm. Half the size of a golf tee, the caterpillar-like creature floats beneath an inch of mezcal, tequila’s smokier cousin. Keith instructs everyone to raise their red Solo cups–which, unlike mine, are devoid of bug carcasses–and slam their shots in one go. “It might give you visions the first time,” he chuckles as I choke down the insect. “Goes down like protein, comes out like fiber.” And with that, it’s showtime. After a buxom blonde rides a horse around Reliant Stadium, shooting fireworks from a bedazzled American flag, Keith leaves his rolling sanctuary. He wades through a scrum of screaming fans, pauses for a backstage chat with pal Roger Clemens, then swings up into a beefy silver Ford, which he drives over the mud and up to the stage. The opening song, which he belts over a deafening roar, is choreographed perfectly: “American Ride.” There’s little about Toby Keith, in fact, that isn’t calibrated for maximum synergy. The mezcal–and the worm–were from the 52-year-old’s own liquor label, Wild Shot. His road trip to the stage is part of a multimillion-dollar endorsement deal with Ford, whose executives had filled his preshow tour bus, and once he’s up there, he makes sure to play “I Love This Bar,” a song after which he’s named his restaurant chain. The teens down in front with the Taylor Swift shirts? Keith owns a piece of her, too. The $1 million or so he’ll earn for the 90-minute concert itself feels almost incidental. Keith’s commercial chops, overlaying a wide patriotic appeal, have created the most vertically integrated performer in the music business–and a one-man cash machine. FORBES estimates that Keith pulled in $65 million over the last 12 months–more than any musician not named Madonna, Lady Gaga or Bon Jovi, and easily outpacing masters of product extension like Jay-Z ($42 million), Beyoncé ($53 million) and Jennifer Lopez ($45 million). The long-term figures are even more impressive. Over the past five years, FORBES estimates, Keith has never earned less than $48 million in a year. His cumulative take over that period: $270 million. Over his entire career–Keith has written a No. 1 country hit every year for the past two decades–his total earnings surpass $500 million. “He’s built this little empire, and he did it kind of quietly,” says concert promoter Louis Messina. “Not many people have been able to pull it off as long as he has.” So why don’t most Americans know much about Keith? Ask him, and he’ll frame it as something of a conspiracy: “Years ago politics branded me as a cat that was an extreme right-wing guy. Media doesn’t want to cover that.” The truth lies in more basic demographics. Country music has only 14% of the national radio audience, with a heavy regional tilt. Keith’s brilliance lies in recognizing that rather than try to appeal to everyone, he should leverage a base that is unusually loyal–a screaming, swaying annuity–and milk it for all it’s worth. “A big rock station might play a hit 100-plus times per week,” says Keith’s manager, TK Kimbrell, who joined the singer’s team in 1995. “A country station might play it 50 times. But they’ll play it forever.” ...that's page 1 of a 3 page article you can read on the link I posted above.

I wonder if there will be any new music from Toby this year? His last album was pretty good, but I haven't listened to it as much as I have some of his other music in the past. Seems like Toby's star has faded quite a bit over the past few years. His voice is better than it ever has been though.

I haven't heard anything but it doesn't seem likely since he just had a new album out a few months ago.

That album was the first he'd had in two or three years. He used to release one every fall like clockwork.

I've just never kept track of Toby that closely. Not just Toby actually, pretty much everyone. I'll periodically go to Amazon and see what the new releases and the pre-orders are but if people are missing, it may take a year or two before I think anything about it.
Usually then it's because I'll have one of their songs I just love, love, love come up on shuffle and it'll occur to me it's been a long stretch of lonesome since I heard what they were up too. Then I'll start looking at their wiki page for info and play catch up.
I used to read the charts, back when I still got CW...and I'm enjoying SuperDave posting his chart now.
About Toby, anything is possible. I haven't heard anything.
