Chris Cagle, 'Back in the Saddle' Album Out June 26Music City News Media & Marketing Chris Cagle is guaranteed one eventful start to summer. The singer-songwriter's fifth studio album, Back in the Saddle, will be released June 26. This marks the first LP from the Texas-raised singer since his 2008 project, My Life's Been a Country Song. "The experience I've had making this record has rekindled the passion I had for music when I recorded my first record," Chris reveals. "Back in the Saddle is MY life! I wouldn't change anything about it; it is a record that I can live or die by and be content. I have given the fans my heart and soul, if it's not good enough, I can live with it. If it is good enough, well then, I can't wait to see what happens!" The 11-track record includes his single, "Got My Country On," as well as five Chris originals. He penned "Southern Girl," "Something That Wild," "Dance Baby, Dance," "Now I Know What Mama Meant," and his upcoming single, "Let There Be Cowgirls." Chris co-produced the project with ACM and CMA award winner Keith Stegall. In anticipation of the release, the singer will host his 2nd annual Unbridled Concert, June 8 at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon. The performance benefits Saddle-Up!, a horseback-riding program for physically and mentally challenged children. Chris is currently on the road. His next stop is tonight (June 1) in Temecula, Calif., followed by a stop in Eagle Mountain, Utah tomorrow (June 2).

Chris Cagle Reflects on Fatherhood
Chris Cagle has a house full of girls surrounding him these days between his wife Kay and three young daughters, so he's sure to get plenty of attention around his ranch this Father's Day. And though he's outnumbered as the only man in the house, the country singer is definitely enjoying being a dad to Chloe, Stella and Piper. An avid horseman who trains quarter horses on his Oklahoma ranch, the Big Horse Ranch, Chris is the first to admit that training horses is a bit different than raising children, and that fatherhood presents its own set of rewarding challenges.
"My stepdaughter Chloe is eight now, Stella is two, and Piper is just a year old," Chris tells The Boot. "So except for me and my dog, everyone else in the house is female! Well, and Playboy, my horse. Being a father it's funny though ... actually it's tough. It doesn't come with any instructions. And I'm the guy who can put anything together with instructions. Fatherhood, you have to have a lot of grace and a lot of patience for the learning process."
Chris is finding one of the toughest parts of being a parent these days is watching his kids go through their own challenges and growing pains and knowing just when to step in and when to step back. He explains that when one of his daughters acts shy, he's tempted to coach her to be more social. But then he realizes that's something she has to do on her own.
"My gift to her is allowing her to find her way, and being there to really just guide her," he says.
The "Got My Country On" star has big hopes and dreams for his kids just like all dads, but says at the end of the day, he hopes his legacy will be leaving three strong, capable young women who can thrive on their own out in the world, with or without a man.
"I know they're gonna make some mistakes and some choices that are bad, but I truly hope that when I'm done and my children leave, that I produce young ladies that do not have to be married to anybody to feel like they're taken care of. They can take care of themselves, and if a man doesn't treat them like a gentleman they can tell him, 'Thank you, but no thank you' and move on. That's the biggest gift I can give them. It's so funny, because my father used to tell me all the time, 'Son, I really don't want anything for Father's Day.' And I never understood that, but now I do. Just a hug, means more than anything."

November 2nd, 2015 Chris Cagle Calling It QuitsSinger and songwriter Chris Cagle is calling it quits. According to posts made by Cagle on his social media pages, he is walking away from country music to focus on being a dad and a husband. " I would like to thank everyone for 15 yrs of a great time! From B&D to Flatts and fans!! I'm gonna miss my band and everyone!! All this means.. I'm going home! I'm going to be a Father and a GREAT Husband and enjoy my life! I thank you ALL for everything ! I've had a great run and would just like to go home with my dignity!Cagle’s fans immediately started questioning the posts, many wondering if he was indeed leaving country music for good. Cagle responded with the following posts on Twitter. “I just watched my tour bus roll out of the Ranch! I hope the guys on it will forever know what they’ve meant to my life!!!” “I must say I am a little overwhelmed by the kind words from everyone! I thank you for your kindness!” Cagle was first known for writing songs for David Kersh before signing his own recording contract in 2000. Cagle made his debut on the Billboard Hot Country Singles charts with My Love Goes On and On, the first single from his debut album Play It Loud. The album also produced I Breathe In, I Breathe Out, his only number one hit. The I Breathe In, I Breathe Out singer is the proud dad of three daughters and told Taste of Country in 2011 that his true happiness comes from his wife and children. “I am Father of the Year material. I truly am. There’s a certain level of fear that comes with being a father — don’t touch that, that will hurt you. Every time they go somewhere, I just want to follow them. Now I understand why it’s difficult for some parents to let their children go. I am hopefully 25 years away from giving my daughter away at a wedding, and I dread it. I do. That’s my little girl. That’s my baby.” Cagle admits that fatherhood changed him. “Something happened to me once I became a father. When Stella came out, something snapped in me … I don’t know what it was. I wanted to be better at everything. I work so much harder now on my music. I used to just pick up a guitar, play, bang it out and that was it. I really, truly now work hard — hard — on my music. I work hard on building our ranch. I work hard on my relationship with my wife. I work hard on maintaining a level head. I work hard on every time I get to a place where I want to get upset about something, I think, is this even worth it? Just relax for a second … is this really worth it? This person could be having a really bad day and you don’t know what’s going on in their life. Why are you getting upset right now? It’s weird because I never really cared about what anybody thought of me. Now all I care about is setting an example for what a man should be so that my daughter winds up picking the right guy.” countrymusicnation.com/chris-cagle-calling-it-quits-58363

I'm sorry to hear Chris is retiring but I'm happy it's for such a great reason. Chris is such a good guy.

I was surprised to hear this, but then again, it's been a while since he's had any music out there.
