OK, I put my desktop in the shop and 2 weeks later when I got it back I can't play cd's or dvd's on it. I can copy a cd, but for some reason my players won't PLAY a cd. Anyone that can give me some advise on why and what to do.... it would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

After paying over $154 getting my computer fixed I just put it back in the shop to see if the PC guy can figure out what happened to my CD/DVD player. Hopefully he won't charge me again since it was working just fine when I put in the shop the first time. I really like the guy...very nice person.

Hope you get it fixed Jane. I asked my husband and son if they knew what was causing the problem but they couldn't figure it out (and I'm no electronics genius!! ha ha)

Jane,
So sorry about your CD player. I haven't had problems with mine, so not familiar with what to do.
Maybe your computer people did something so it doesn't play. Don't know why you took the computer in, but the techs could somehow have disabled the CD player program or did something that made it not be compatible.
Don't know if this will help, but you or someone else could look for the program for the CD player on your computer. Don't know if it automatically knows what to do, or if you have to check something or choose a drive. Just a few suggestions.
Also, they do wear out but don't think that's your problem.
Hope they get it to work for you.

Kim..... thanks for asking your husband and your son anyway. I appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Kora.....this is the first time I've had a problem with my CD player and it didn't happen until it was in the shop. The guy had to unknowingly done something that caused the problem. Hopefully he'll get it figured out and fix it.
Thanks for your input. I appreciate it.
