Who’s Your Favorite CMA Awards Host?

Hosting the CMA Awards is one of the most prestigious gigs in country music. Since its inception in 1967 — which wasn’t broadcast on TV — the show has featured some of country music’s biggest stars at center stage.

Tennessee Ernie Ford hosted from 1969-1971, and Johnny Cash hosted four times, in 1973, ’74, ’77 and ’78. Vince Gill has hosted the most times, from 1994-2003. Brooks & Dunn took over from 2004-2006, while Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood announced this week that they will return this year for their sixth time hosting.

Our poll focuses on the stars who’ve hosted the most, but if you don’t see your favorite here, be sure to let us know.

My favorite is Vince Gill hands down - then Reba

My vote goes to Vince, but I loved seeing Brooks & Dunn up there too.

I would like to see Reba and Dolly...I think they would be very good together. Maybe a new artist and an older artist would be good. Vince was awesome. I would vote for Reba...Brad and Carrie's jokes are in bad taste. I am sure that they will do some twerking this year...I just don't think that they are very funny or entertaining at all. Martina Mcbride might inject a new quality as host of the CMA's...she is so deserving.

I agree Michael - Brad and Carrie aren't good at all. Even though they don't write the jokes - they are horrible at delivering them. Their Gangnam style skit last time was horrible. As you said - they will likely twerk this time. I'm going to record it so I can skip all their stuff and just watch what I want to see.

Dear CMA's - please get new hosts - Brad and Carrie are so over! Bring back Vince or Reba or Brooks and Dunn - even though they aren't recording together anymore, I'm sure they would do a great job as hosts!

I went with nostalgia and voted for Johnny Cash.

Really have enjoyed his "found" album "Out Among the Stars". "If I Told You Who It Was" is a real hoot (and a holler). : )
