Hey fellers and fellerettes...please bear with me as I start a brand new thread of the glourious Taylor Swift on this Forum of Kims. As of now TS has totally left Country Music I see it only fitting that her thread be in the last header...the round file...the paper basket...the final feild goal...the last round...the final curtain...on the non country threads. I think you dear reader may know why... I know that a whole lot of folks wanted her to leave country music and then she did. So now that she is gone there is a small fan base that is missing her huge fan base to kick around . I have been told untold times about how she has ruined country music...I figure that if a young girl could huff and puff your house down ...it wasn't much of a house to begin with....I think that Country music will survive...if they quit being so exclusive. I mean in the 60's we had all sorts of people included into country music. There were lots of minorities...people from all walks of life. The women have always had a long hard row to hoe in the fields. Look at the big hair...the sparkly dresses the way women held themselves with class...kinda like Taylor did before so many country fans kept flappin their yap about she not countryshe should go to pop music...well friends and neighbors...she has left the building...and all that is left is this thread. So without further adeau...welcome back to the Taylor Swift Connection. Come on in and sit a spell.

Now with all that said^^^ I am glad that there are still a few folks hanging out here! I would like to share one of my favorite songs off of "1989" called "Clean". If it wasn't for the EDM tracks laid over the lyrics it would be a number 1 country song. I love the message...to me personally I feel it. I mean have you ever been drownbing in emotions...and screaming so loud and the feelings that no one is listening. This song brought back memories of watching this neighbor boy sitting and spinning on his tail in the dry dusty Colorado dirt screaming at the top of his lungs "MEEEEEEE"!!! All the other kids walked right by and let the kid scream and carry on. It wasn't very long after that we got the news that he was hit by a car on Federal blvd and was killed. I think from then on all the neighbor kids held the spot where the kid threw his fits as holy ground. About 10 years ago I went to the old stomping grounds and found the spot where the kid had his episodes and found that it was a parking lot...covered in asphalt. I always wonder what would have happened if I would have said..."Hey kid...whats up" I didn't do it then but I will now...Hey kids...whats up? Check out this lyric video and tell me what you think...please! Note...since the audio has been muted on her music please listen to this kid instead...one more influenced by Taylor. youtu.be/WkeECTkD_14

The latest video "Blank Spaces" gives me pause. Anyone who messes with crazy people get what they are full aware that they will get. I remember Carrie Underwood beating up a perfectly good pick up truck and sending it to the junkyard. When Taylor goes off on this sports car it is like really...for every swing the car increases in value. So again welcome to the good crazy world of Taylor Swift! youtu.be/e-ORhEE9VVg

Oh I would be remiss if I didn't tell you all about the APP! There is an app that lets you go into each room of the house and discover things at your own pace...as for my I am stuck at the word app. Anyways it is pretty groundbreaking technology that other artists are sure to follow. Has anyone seen this video...her performance on Letterman? OMG...she rocks and is in the perfect place right now!!! youtu.be/Bzr5VtFvSyw

Taylor Swift is the only artist in history to have three million-selling weeks (2010’s Speak Now, 2012’s RED and 2014’s 1989) and the only artist to have two singles hit No. 1 on Billboards HOT 100 Chart this year. Taylor is a global superstar and seven-time GRAMMY winner, and the youngest winner in history of the music industry’s highest honor, the GRAMMY Award for Album of the Year. She is the first artist since the Beatles (and the only female artist in history) to log six or more weeks at #1 in the U.S. with three consecutive studio albums. Taylor has an album on Rolling Stone’s prestigious The 50 Greatest Albums of All Time (by women) list, Time magazine has named her one the of the 100 Most Influential People in the world, and she is Billboard’s youngest-ever Woman of the Year and the only artist to have been awarded this honor twice. Taylor has career record sales in excess of 30 million albums and more than 80 million song downloads worldwide, and has had singles top both the pop and country radio charts around the globe. Taylor’s album RED, released two years ago, sold more than 1.2 million copies in the U.S. in its first week. The only other album to sell more than RED was her critically acclaimed fifth studio album, 1989, the highest selling release since 2002 and the only album to go platinum in 2014. 1989 sold almost 1.3 million albums release week topping Billboard’s Top 200 charts and iTunes’ sales charts in 95 countries on its release. 1989 has sold almost three million copies globally and tops Billboard Top 200 for a third week. “Shake It Off,” the first single from 1989, topped Billboard’s Pop, HotAC and Hot 100 charts and has earned double Platinum-status by the RIAA for exceeding sales of two million downloads in the U.S. Her current single “Blank Space,” immediately skyrocketed to the top of the Hot 100 and iTunes chart on its debut.Whew!!!

It's been a couple of years since I've watched or listened to any of Taylor's new music. I'm glad you posted all the great links Michael. That was a lovely hour well spent for me. : )
It's not just Taylor I'm out of touch with musically. When we decided to switch from cable tv to Netflix, we no longer had our cable music channels and I had quit listening to radio even before that.
Still love music...just not very current anymore.

I am trying to reply to you but Jo this durn water keeps making my vision blurry...these tears feel so good...I'll let them flow as I type. I will not say that I missed you...love you and are my inspiration...I just won't say what you already know...just won't say it! OMG...you cant even get videos with music of TS on you tube anymore...something about greed or something. I mean really...how much money does a person need ...just a little more? Personally I am glad that she has been a person of such class...upheld a true vision of herself. I know that the new album is supposed to be pop music...but it is only clutter from what I would call genius songwriting. I know that her voice is not excellent...but her words are true...and to me that is country music. I kinda feel like her I guess...kicked out of the genre because I looked at em funny...they thought I was a hippy or something...well Taylor is a hippy and will come back around too. BTW...Searching for other artists I stumbled upon "Jackson Taylor"...you can you tube his stuff...long story there. The best thing I have witnessed in her ascent to the top of the charts is the influence that she has given the youth...I have always stood by this from the beginning. Check this out if you would...I love the second verse and the chorus about breathing...I will always remember some sage from my friend...just breathe... The title of this is "Clean"... youtu.be/WkeECTkD_14

In the last couple of years, as I've relaxed and circled back to who I've been most of my life, I've also circled back to not really paying attention to labels. Before I started talking about music online, I knew I loved country music and never thought about what that meant. Now that I haven't talked about country music online for the last couple of years, I've found I once again don't care what they call what I love as long as it's what I love.
IMHO, we are all rotary. We take this road or take that road but, over time, we circle back to where we feel most at home. Taylor will be coming around again. In her own time and space and on her own journey. I don't see that's she's really changed. Her songwriting is still keenly insightful. She advocates her own personal truth. She values honesty.
Recently I had a cousin who I didn't know existed contact me. She said she was looking for a sense of belonging. The more we talked, the sadder I became. I told her details about our grandpa and how her mom grew up. The more I told her though, the more I realized that whatever it was she was searching for, the words and the information I had to give her didn't reach her heart.
More and more Michael, I believe in the path of the heart. I love seeing Taylor following her own path.
Now I'm off to youtube to surf up some Jackson Taylor. I'll be back....... : )

Michael, When you have the time and inclination, please tell me the story about Jackson Taylor. : ) In that same vein, I'm so spoiled in Texas. Country music as I know and love it lives on...with it's pain and heartbreak. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPiddSDZ5Xs

Where do I start...with no pretenses...just relaxing conversation...about music! It is a warm feeling to be able to relate without judgement...my God it has been a rough and tumble past few years with music family and friends. I actually had a friend these past couple years...actually a guy I hired turned out to be honest and of good character. I rarely let anyone into my life but did this time...let him into my vast musical empire! Did I mention something about pretense earlier...well please scratch that one. I even took him to the Taylor show in Tulsa where I had VIP PIT...and where he got ejected a wee bit early and I had to follow but later I was compensated with two tickets to the Eagles...where as I took my beloved wife. Lots of fun when you have a friend...I do see the need for friends...I was there when he crashed his bike...when he needed cash...knowing all along that he would always get the better deal on everything...that is cool...that is what friends are for ...to help. Then Smoker his pit bull ran off...and he shut down...shut me out...until I got a text inviting me over. It was sent to the wrong person...no return e mails...or calls...just over. I believe that the reason he quit our friendship was that he knew that I would not approve of his abuse in all aspects of behavior...and I would not approve of it...did I mention something about judgement...scratch that too!
