Michael, I didn't know we lost Tim last year. I listened to one of his albums from the library along the way. He was a funny, funny man. Great story. Glad you found your wallet. New Year's eve we were home. Hubby had a head cold and went to sleep it off but I was up until midnight to see the new year in. New Years day we watched a couple of movies from the Redbox. Yesterday hubby telecommuted and I did a bunch of catch up errands and grocery shopping. Seemed like I went everywhere...just like that Johnny Cash song...lol www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFRpa81MUAYToday hubby and I went to Fuddrucker's for lunch....yum, yum, yum. Hubby is taking his Saturday afternoon nap now. Son is out with his girl. House is nice and quiet. Listening to music and reading online.

Here it is Sunday. Church this morning. Lunch at Sweet Tomatoes. Had a lovely time wandering through some of my favorite songs from the 1970's on the radio thread....time to figure out supper and I'll probably watch some "New Girl" on Netflix this evening. A nice relaxing day.
I hope yours is too. : )

Jolene,
Love, love, love this thread. So glad to have you back. You always posted great threads at CWO.
I've had this nasty cold/bronchitis now since boxing day and I think it's finally starting to go. At any rate, I had to come in to work today so I had no choice. My son's fiancé had it first, then my son, then me and now hubby has it! I've been extra careful about sanitizing things and cleaning counters, bathrooms, etc. Hope it doesn't linger too long.
Just announced on my radio station this morning that Luke Bryan is coming to this area on Friday, May 1st. Tickets go on sale Friday. Son, fiancé and I are hoping to go - not sure about hubby. He likes Keith Urban, but not sure about Luke. Hubby is more of a Rolling Stones / Metallica / Van Halen, etc. kind of guy. lol
Well, best get on with my work - it unfortunately won't do itself!
Have an awesome day everyone - chat with you later. Having some issues with this site on my laptop - it won't let me sign in, but I'll see if I can get my son to look at it - he's more technically smart than I am!!
Kim

The flu is running willy nilly across the country...please be careful everyone.
Remember... if your nose is running be sure to wipe it before you shake someones hand.

Kim,
You poor girl...I'm sending healthy thoughts your way. It's miserable to have a cold/bronchitis that just keeps hanging on. I'm sure your exhausted. Looking forward to the time when your feeling better and have more energy.
It'd be awesome if you got to go see Luke Bryan. He's one of my favorites.
Our husbands and their music....mine drug me to see Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) last year. Ian is a very talented guy and put on a heck of a show but I had a headache for almost a whole day afterward. Good thing we love our menfolk. : )

I got sidetracked from the internet yesterday. Son is moving out on Thursday and the sorting, washing, packing cycle has begun.
Today I decided to get errands done and take a bit of a break. Back to cleaning his stuff out of the hall closet tomorrow.
What's with the weather where you are? We've been having slight freezing the last day or so but it's clear and the sun in shining now. Read online that a lots of folks will be getting snow.

My day was quiet. I watched the football games at Kent's in Swansea and then at CBS Scene in Foxboro. It's back to work tomorrow. Quiet days are my favorite. Awesome. Nice. Quiet is a periodic necessity in life.

I went ahead and sent my old Navy buddy that is in prison in Texas a reply letter. It was a 5 pager rager...with no mention of money. Seems that when money becomes involved between friends...the friendship is over. I gave away a lot of money to people in 2014 now it seems that they have ran off...that is not o.k. because it makes me feel ripped...taken...like a fool. When I give I want nothing in return ...but there is this sneaking suspicion that on their part they are thinking what a dummy! Whatever...it makes me feel good to give it away. Believe it or not...gifts like this has came back to me 10 fold. Whatever the bible says about that is true...but I would rather feed the horses myself instead of handing it to a rolex wristed preacher. Jimmy has used this tactic on us 30 years ago in Tennessee. He and his wife and his wifes sister came up to our one bedroom house to visit. What a whirlwind...I gave him all of my money to get back to Texas...took them to travelers aid...and the penocostal church for money. They broke our bed...ate my freshly baked cake...trashed our place and didn't even wait until I could say good by...they split...never to be heard from again. Mostly his card had references to J-pay...J-pay...J-pay...bless me with money. I noted that money makes friends run...heck I should have sent him a couple bucks... though still no reply!

Michael -- I didn't hear the part about the guy asking you for money before. Phooey on that. He has no right and absolutely no manners to write after so many decades and hit you up.
You are such a good person and you deserve so much better.
Just here for a minute but I'll be back more this weekend to catch up on my reading and see what y'all have posted.
Son did get moved out yesterday and I think I've gone through every corner of our house this week. Thought I'd have time today but needed to work on paper...paying bills, balancing the checkbook...day got away from me.
It'll all settle down again very soon.

Oh thank you Jo for your vote of confidence... That is all that humans want is a bit of self fulfillment. There is a prolog to this story...at least this chapter. Is it prolog or prelog?...I'll go with prelog. Anyway it was I who contacted Jimmies Sister who relayed the message. She uses J-pay to write to him...for a fee a page. I contacted him to invite him to the ships reunion page... guess computers are off limits to prisoners. Maybe prisoners could learn how to use them and then hired by the state to type stuff in. So I think I'll turn the page on reuniting with old Navy buddies. With the exception of Marc Beinfang from Grundy Center Iowa...cannot find this guy. Last time I saw him he left the ship headed to the B bar in Grundy Center. That was in 1985.

Monday is my Sunday...
but it's raining today.
and cold and windy...
So inside I play!
Time to tear out the guest tub and dream of tubs to be.
I love simple projects that they charge 6000 for...
that I can do for around a grand...check Rebath etc.
With the exception that I do a whole lot better work than them.
Imagine tearing out your tub and tile and having the complete installation in 1 day.
It is a cover up my friend... or a lot of shortcuts.
There is no shortcut the way that I think.
I always plan for the hard road...and am never dissapointed.
I am giving myself 2 weeks for this...maybe a month.
When I am done...I will be done.
^^^sounds kinda poetic^^^

Saturday was good - jazzed by the Patriots-Ravens game.
Monday is what you'd expect - made worse because I have a sore throat.

Sunday, I watched parts of the Packers-Cowboys and also poor Manning's overthrowing and the Colts. He needs to retire. Today, I will catch some of Ohio State and Oregon if I get home from work at a decent hour.
