We were in the 90's last week. It's cooled down to the high 70's now.

I wanted to include this clip of Randy Travis at the Country Music Hall of Fame ceremony here because I hadn't realized Randy was still in such bad shape. I knew he'd had heart problems and a stroke but obviously his recovery is a long one. This would be his third year of recovery now.
I love you Randy and Congratulations on now being in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Wow....we've had 70s/80s this week until today.
Other than that, its been a sucky week! My godfather passed on Tuesday. Lovely man...Good German godparents who were up in my business from the day they stood up with me in church when I was 3 months old to Monday (I'm now the grandma of 8!), when I saw him for the last time...telling me to drive carefully because there are idiots on the road.
I feel like an orphan

My month just got worse - in Boston today I got drilled by some idiot in a Prius - my car can still run but now I have to get repairs and deal with the insurance people, get the crash report from the police, etc.
YES I AM TORKED OFF!!

I haven't been online much. My sister broke her leg so we've been chatting all the time. My sister is 18 months older than I am but she took 4th grade twice so after that we were always in the same class at school and graduated together. We've walked through life together.
Houston flooded last week (again) but we were lucky. We didn't get the 20 inches other areas got.
I started out just working one day every couple of weeks at the church food bank but you know how this goes. It always grows and grows so now I've added a couple more jobs there on different days. Now I'm also a screener and sometimes help the receptionist. It's early yet but I'm starting to think ahead to planning the food for 50 students at Vacation Bible School this summer.
I did make it ahead a bit on Monday when I made the stuffed mushroom caps for next Monday's Women's Bible Study potluck. Last one before summer so we invite all the ladies in the church. Gonna have live music. It's a group which plays at our church sometimes. Texas Sky.
This is them performing Bob Dylan's "Wagon Wheel". I love that Darius Rucker did an awesome cover of it too along the way.

Got worse and also better - the bad news is my car declared a total loss. The good news is I'm getting a replacement that's better and also full value from the insurance company. Now I just have to wait to get it.

It does - I had to do some cleaning so to speed it all up I hauled in the leaf blower - cleaned out the dust great! That thing totally blows!!!!

Thanks Jolene. Service for Uncle was reasonable uneventful, saw lots of cousins I haven't seen in ages. Just need to keep moving forward...
