So I thought I'd start with a light topic here… been sitting around wondering when the worlds going to end and thinking the Lord that I am able to witness it through my own eyes for all of my ancestors that came before. Like I said I light topic seems to be in order these days.

Sweet clip of Colbert talking about meeting his wife.
….and the Home Free guys doing the same.
When I met my husband at a friends house we were both dating other people. Months later, when we were both unattached, we started dating. And breaking up. And dating. And breaking up. And dating. Around and around and around we went for two years. By the time we got married we’d worked out all our conflicts and were solid.
How did you meet your lovely bride?

On the dangerous world we live in. We are less secure than we used to be in so many different ways.
What would you say your major concerns security wise are?

Months later, when we were both unattached, we started dating. And breaking up. And dating. And breaking up. And dating. Around and around and around we went for two years. By the time we got married we’d worked out all our conflicts and were solid. How did you meet your lovely bride? Yes our meeting was on the school bus like Forrest Gump trying to find a seat then the sweetest person entire world yes do you wanna sit here. It was the kind of gesture I think I've ever had in my life as I was new to the school from Colorado where are the real cowboys were from in the stinky state Called Oklahoma... I was OK as long as I was sitting in same seat is her… but when the doors open at school I had a gauntlet old hay hauling Okies that I had to fight before even got to that cafeteria. Every day the same old thing my shirt pocket was torn off every day mom refuse to sell them back on so when hi school hit we went separate ways I went back to Colorado and she went to Tulsa and got sick... I join the navy and came back to Tulsa to bring her back with me to Florida where I can take care of her. God just thinking about this is like from another time and dimension. We got married in Memphis when I started my shore duty and was able to get her the medical attention that she needed... Actually 35 years of medical attention was needed. Her family was of absolutely no support so she was on her own and so was I and to make it look like I was the hero is totally wrong because she saved me from myself Time and time again. To have a partner so firmly planted in your life and then removed so quickly along with your job and your support system it is totally understandable why people end their lives. Turn on the survivors ask or if I would've only known… All I can say to that as well maybe if you came around you would've known. I'm not quite so sure the survivor should be lead off so easy as the victim but these are just thought that I've had time to sort through be totally honest I'm sick assortment through them. The wonderful thing I did learn from my wife was that you cannot solve peoples problems nor can they solve mine... I can only be aware and offer my heart felt thoughts. I seen her do it time and time again listening to peoples problems empathizing with him and coming out has the best advice simply listening. In that respect Jo… I think you both went to the same School of life.

On the dangerous world we live in. We are less secure than we used to be in so many different ways. What would you say your major concerns security wise are? I would have to say that are biggest security struggle is that the cops are scared to death. This is our last line of defense between good and evil and we treat the good like evil. The clip on posting with us is our local town with a cop that has harassed everyone ... He arrested my nephew and niece for minor traffic violations… I mean stuck them to the wall. His most recent incident was right around New Year's what are the cop pull the guy over tased him and somehow the guy is dead… The family is still trying to get an answer from the police department after 45 day wait time. Justin and Jess told me about this and I really had no idea who it was... Then they refresh my memory of March of last year when I had hernia surgery they came to check on me and left this guy setting in the car... I told Jess to go get him and bring him in... And she did… I told just to cook something up and for the guy to go take a shower and I had clothes for him which I apparently had a big influence on him. He didn't take a shower but they did it and I gave him a coat and then I forgot all about it. So this was the guy Michael Hanna who I only knew as my drummer… like I say it was after surgery and I was feeling no pain at all so my memory has failed during this entire episode but after seeing his mama and brother on TV it kind of brings it back home. So I guess he can remain my drummer and I'll file this memory as a unrequited friendship. So the main security concerns I can see is mistrust. The police cannot do it all… we need to be the backbone of the police department… Instead of so many people pointing the finger they should look at the four fingers pointing back at them. But like I said that's another song.❤️

Michael,
I've always known how much you've loved and appreciated your wife. It's lovely that you met early and had that connection all these decades.
I'm sorry school was harsh for you. In my experience Okie's are much like their ancestors who got land through the land rushes. Is that what they called them? When everyone lined up and then the rush was on to claim what land you could before someone else did. It was very much a be assertive or you lost out.
I have a lot of cousins. Many of the ones I grew up around were brawlers both as teenagers and as adults. Girls as well as the guys. It was never my thing. I always wanted to read and listen to music. Plus I was busy working. I started babysitting at 10. Working on corn field crews at 13. Waitress at the local truck stop at 15. Bookkeeping at an accounting office at 16. Graduated when I was 17.

Michael,
So many of the best cops have moved away from law enforcement because it is a mess out there. We never used to have much crime where we live but now it's entirely different.
We hear a lot about security since our son works in the field with a lot of former police investigators. Since he's a district supervisor he's all over about half of the state. He'll spend weeks down on the Texas/Mexico border where things are pretty rough.
IMHO, the biggest threat is inflation and the world economy. When people get desperate they do desperate things.

It certainly was a challenge to enter a school... Where all the kids knew each other... From before kindergarten. I made best friends with the biggest guy in school named Kenny snow… he was about 6 foot four… A full beard… and was able to buy beer 16 years old. I remember once when they were choosing sides… And both teams refused to choose me… so I got up and left the gym and one across the street to the dairy bar to have a smoke... In less than five minutes here come Kenny with an entourage of the football team and begging for Kenny to stay. He was my friend more than I knew... We would skip school go down to the train tracks and fight. Kenny was going to toughen me up so that I could whoop the antagonizers in school… And he did and I did. What school did not know was that I'm an original okie... All my people or from Oklahoma… in route to California during the land rush. During the dust bowl I understand that you could pick and choose what house you wanted and just move in. I heard that the houses were covered over and Dusty send dunes… a lot of times it was no windows so they just hung wet towels over the Windows. I was able to find the Indian bloodlines don't hang out with them… they were so down to earth and real and they've always had my back. I still am in contact with people I went to kindergarten with… and they are so accepting… they are Chicanos from a small Barrio in Denver. I think the bullies in the small Oklahoma high school came to realize that I was related and more Okie then they ever would realize.

OMG… you're absolutely right about inflation and How it is going to affect us sooner than later I am afraid. All of these entitlements have to be paid or there is worthless is the paper printed on.… which unfortunately is our money. I have never been one do invest in the stock market but I do see the G fund finally growing... I guess it's time to makes me interest money call my TSP… I guess in a way it can be called revenge of the conservatives?

Michael,
I'm so glad you had your friend Kenny to help you through those days.
I do understand leaving behind what you know and stepping into a new place. Hubby and I dated for two years before we got married. We got married on a Monday after he finished basic and A school. On Wednesday we packed up our entire lives and drove from Kansas to Virginia where we had two days to find an apartment, move all our stuff in and get military dependent ID for me. Then it was off to Philadelphia so he could catch a MAC flight and join the ship on a Med cruise. I was a thousand miles from everyone I knew and he was thousands of miles from me for the next three months. Then he was on sea duty and night shift while he was in port for the next three years. I worked days and that first year we spent a total of 3 nights together. Then we had that pesky first Gulf War when I was 9 months pregnant. He left for it while I was having Braxton hicks contractions. Son was born while he was deployed.
Then we started over again in DC. Though it was supposed to be Rota, Spain so I was very happy it was DC. Then all over again in Texas.
Life is ever changing. I do understand having to rebuild.

Michael,
The official word is that inflation is moderating but that's only because they keep changing what they measure. Lately they want to talk about super core inflation which excludes almost everything.
The reality is that all signs point to harder times ahead. More auto loans are past due. Credit card balances are rising. Walmart had the biggest month ever but it's lower margin groceries. People aren't buying the extras. Name brand manufacturers are selling lower volumes. Tech continues to layoff big numbers of people. Office real estate is more in danger of default. The bad signs go on and on and on. Everything costs more for all of us.

All the struggles of military life bring back similar feelings. Everything is moving so fast then wasn't it? It still is moving so fast too for the kids these days. My wife and I had an inside joke… we were getting her dependent ID when the fellow taking the picture started scratching his ear like a flea bitten dog.… it was a long way to say the least. So whenever one of us was in line we're on the phone and it was gonna be a minute we would scratch are here like a flea bitten dog. We all learn is inside signals I guess... It is nice to know people on a deeper level.

I think we're probably headed for inflation like it was when my mom and dad was invested in CDs heavily… were they really making 15% interest? I guess it's my turn to learn these lessons… these were lessons we already knew but I guess we have to learn them over again as a country… As a collective. Raise wages equals higher prices… It's simple math. Can you print tons of money the value of money goes down. Talk to any of the big shots and they all concur that we have to pay the piper sooner than later. I know that my liberal sisters are in for a rude awakening
