Pepsi has Beyonce and Sofia Vergara, and now Coke has Taylor Swift.
The 23-year-old singer will partner with Diet Coke on a series of branding initiatives, Ad Age has learned. It's not clear how Diet Coke will use Ms. Swift, though it's likely she will become a brand ambassador of sorts, with the partnership going beyond simply 30-second TV spots. However, executives close to the company noted she will not be involved in the company's Super Bowl campaign. A Coca-Colaspokeswoman declined to comment.
Ms. Swift doesn't have the superstar presence of the leotard-wearing, vigorously-dancing Beyonce, who was named the official brand ambassador of Pepsi last month. In addition to being one half of entertainment's highest-wattage power couple along with Jay-Z, Beyonce is headlining the Super Bowl halftime show sponsored by Pepsi, performed at Barack Obama's second inauguration, has starred in movies and will be the subject of autobiographical HBO documentary next month.
Still, Ms. Swift's power is rising fast. According to Billboard's list of 2012's top 40 Money Makers, the star blew past competition like Adele and Lady Gaga to come in at No. 1, with earnings of more than $35 million last year. Her newly struck deal to rep Diet Coke follows a lucrative contract with Cover Girl, as well as work for Sony Electronics and Keds. She's been nominated for 15 Grammy Awards and taken home six. And there's no denying too that she's a favorite of celebrity magazines; the paparazzi love to document her short-lived romances, which include everyone from singer John Mayer and One Direction's Harry Styles to actor Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor Kennedy, son of Robert Kennedy Jr.
While various celebrity endorsements of the soda giants have been ridiculed over the years as less than authentic -- a decade ago Britney Spears was photographed drinking Coke while under contract with Pepsi --"Red" artist Ms. Swift may actually be a genuine fan of Diet Coke.
In October she rather comically told Bon Appetit magazine the cola is always in her refrigerator, "because it understands me." She was also photographed clutching a can of Diet Coke in London earlier this week.
The partnership comes as Coca-Cola has quietly handed a marketing project to Droga5, Ad Age has learned. The New York-based indie has rapidly been gaining prominence on the beverage giant's roster at the expense of other longtime agencies.
The Diet Coke work Droga5 snagged comes just months after it was named creative agency of record for Coke Zero in North America.
However, Wieden & Kennedy remains Diet Coke's agency of record, said Susan Stribling, a Coca-Cola spokeswoman, noting the agency's work around the recently launched "Heart Truth" campaign.
"It's not unusual for us to occasionally tap into more than one agency for a big core brand like Diet Coke," Ms. Stribling said. She said the partnership is a 2013 effort, so it's yet unclear how much the agency will be working with Ms. Swift.
In August, Droga5 replaced Coke Zero's agency of seven years, MDC Partners' CP&B. It's first work for that brand is expected to launch around NCAA Basketball March Madness. It's believed the agency moves were led by Pio Schunker, head of integrated marketing at Coca-Cola North America.
Since 2010, when Diet Coke inched past Pepsi to become the No. 2 soda in the country, the brand has sought to push its advantage in North America, ramping up marketing throughout the year. Last year Diet Coke also made a permanent change to its packaging for the first time in more than five years.

This ranking is totally wrong...they have her listed as #17! I know that she should be #1...just like everything else she does!

Revenge sure looks good on Taylor Swift!
The single 23-year-old singer stunned at the NRJ Music Awards held at Palais des Festivals on Saturday in Cannes, France—the same event where her former boyfriendHarry Styles and his One Directionbandmates performed and took home the award for Best International Group.
Donning an Elie Saab dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, Ofira earrings, and a single Lorraine Schwartz ring, Taylor continued her plunge neck, mini dress escapade.
Amping up the breakup vibe further, Taylorreportedly sang "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" at the event with Harry in the audience after she changed into yet another sexy outfit, a tiny black lacy number and knee-high boots.
Playing it cool, Harry took to Twiitter after the awards, tweeting: "Thank you so much to @nrjhitmusiconly and our fans for the Award!! See you later .xx." While Taylor hit Twitter herself the day prior but to tweet a pic of the Cannes sunset.
In our opinion, Taylor looks just as bright and beautiful as that sunset!
Go girl!
This is the recipe on how to conquer the world! Be nice to everyone...the world adores you Taylor!!!

Sounds like Directioners won’t have to worry about a Haylor reunion after all. Taylor Swift has taken to dissing Harry Styles of One Direction now, saying that he’s a terrible kisser. Oh really?
Star (via Hollywood Life) reports that Swift told pals that Styles “kissed like a snail. Eventually Taylor found it hard not to be grossed out.” How does Swifty know what snails kiss like? Is there something we should know?
Maybe that’s why she was accused of being such a prude. Styles was “telling friends Taylor was asexual and wouldn’t let him do anything. She acted really sexy at first, but once she hooked up with him, she only wanted to kiss.”
Initially it was reported that Swift was so worried about her reputation that she wouldn’t put out at all. “Taylor is so concerned that the public will think she’s a wh–e because she dates around that she doesn’t put out,” a pal said. “What she doesn’t get is that the guys keep dumping her because she’s being a prude.”
Another friend concurred, “While it was clear she obviously had a thing for Harry, Taylor didn’t want to put out as often as he would’ve liked. Harry is a young boy, with ladies throwing themselves at him and has had a string of relationships with older women.”
Considering Swift was reportedly devastated by the split (even though they were only together for her usual three months), he couldn’t have been too terrible — otherwise she’d be crying tears of joy instead of being rumored to nearing a meltdown!
Maybe Swift, 23, needs an older guy (Styles is only 18) who’s had more practice — and who has more patience.www.zergnet.com/

As you may have heard, Taylor Swift broke up with her latest fling -- One Direction's Harry Styles -- a few weeks ago. Tabloids and gossip magazines have been having a field day with this ever since. Timelines of her boyfriends, reports of the fight that allegedly caused Swift to bail on Styles mid-vacation, and, worst of all, a lot of deep analysis about why Taylor Swift just cannot hold down a relationship. Some articles have painted her as a shameless harpy, using and discarding men to drum up material for her music. Some have pondered why poor, sad, pathetic Taylor just can't keep a man. And some have decided to dish out advice where she never freakin' asked for it, thank you very much.
Now, we're not saying that Taylor Swift plays down her relationships or makes any attempt to keep them on the DL. It's a much-documented fact that she uses her break-ups for song material.
"Forever and Alway" is about Joe Jonas "Dear John" Is about John Mayer
You get the idea...
So we understand full well that Swift opens herself up to tabloid speculation about her boyfriends. We're not objecting to media coverage about who she's dating and whether or not they just broke up, because she's clearly quite happy to be photographed with a boyfriend in public whenever she has one.
What does fill us with intense rage, however, are the stark double standards in media coverage of male serial-daters versus female serial-daters like Swift. In almost all the coverage we've ever seen about Swift's break-ups, she's painted as either a moody *****, a jealous baby, a conniving *****, or a sad little singleton who can't keep a boyfriend -- and it's all her own fault.
When was the last time you saw a male musician portrayed as such a pathetic whore-bag for dating a lot of hot people? Sure, heaps of derision were thrown at John Mayer for being a womanizer, but he's never portrayed as a pathetic victim -- that's reserved for the women he dates (more double standards). And, if you think about it, the press didn't even really turn on him until he did that Playboy interview about his "white supremacist" *****. (Which was some next-level crazy ****.)
Where do people get off portraying Taylor Swift as a sad and lonely victim, while at the same time reporting that she's the one who seems to do most of the dumping? It makes absolutely no sense -- and that's before we even get to the part where she very pointedly tells her exes where to go, in song form. (We don't think anyone's laboring under the assumption that the Jake Gyllenhaal lookalike in the video for "We Are Never, Ever Getting Back Together" was an accident.)
The truth of the matter is, Taylor Swift is an extraordinarily successful 23-year-old woman with a heap of talent and not a small amount of beauty. If she dates a lot of dudes, it's because she's an extraordinarily successful 23-year-old woman with a heap of talent and not a small amount of beauty! If she writes a sad song after a break-up, it's because everyone is sad for five minutes after a break-up (this is how we know Taylor Swift is a real girl and not a conniving harpy). But these break-ups are clearly not devastating her life by any stretch of the imagination, either, or she wouldn't be able to dust herself off and move onto the next hot guy so quickly.
Why is someone like Harry Styles simply portrayed as a womanizer, when Taylor Swift is portrayed as a desperate girl, lurching sadly from one boy to the next, in search of her one true love? It's all about the genitals, folks. If men date a lot of beautiful women, they're having fun; if women do it, it's because they are somehow defective. It is absolutely mind-blowing in 2013 that this type of insanely unfair sexism still exists. The fact that it is rarely even acknowledged merely makes matters worse.
How many 23-year-old women do you know who are clambering all over themselves trying to find a husband to settle down with? We're going to hazard a guess and say: zero. So why would Taylor Swift be doing so? She has a lot of famous people privileges and she's taking advantage of every last one of them. She works hard -- why the hell shouldn't she have a little fun? Why shouldn't she have a new, handsome boyfriend every two months?
So, the world needs to back off Taylor Swift's love life. This stuff isn't complicated. Just like a lot of other young women, she's a serial-dater -- which makes her neither slutty, nor desperate. If the labels aren't being applied to male musicians, we have no right to pin them on the female ones who behave the same way. Enough of this nonsense.

Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble.” rebounds from #5 to #4. The song has climbed as high as #2. The song tops the 3 million mark in digital sales this week. It’s Swift’s fifth song to reach that plateau, following “Love Story” (5,550,000), “You Belong With Me” (4,247,000), “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” (3,284,000) and “Our Song” (3,072,000). The current song isn’t listed on Nielsen SoundScan’s running list of the top-selling country songs in its history because it was deemed not to have sufficient country content. (“We Are Never Ever…,” which is also pop-oriented, must have just made the cut.)

'Highway Don't Care' Lyrics Tim McGraw ft Taylor Swift
Bet your window’s down and your hair’s pulled back
I bet you got no idea you’re going way too fast.
and you’re trying not to think about what went wrong
Trying not to stop til you get where you goin’
Trying to stay awake so I bet you turn on the radio.
and the song goes
I can’t live without you, I can’t live without you baby
I can’t live without you, I can’t live without you baby, baby
Thanks to Taylor...Tim has found a new lease on life!!!

Taylor Swift takes fans inside the creative mind of her and director Anthony Mandler’s vision for the ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ video. The dramatic script follows Swift as a good girl who meets a boy she describes as “corruption.” She changes everything about herself to fit into his world. In these three making-of episodes, one sees what lengths the cast went through to capture the drama.
“I wanted to be as character as possible,” Swift says, explaining her pink hair in the bold clip. “He’s corrupting her in every possible way, including her look.”
Perhaps the most shocking scenes come in the second edition of the behind-the-scenes clips, when the crew is filming the bar fight scene. Actor Reeve Carney plays Swift’s love interest. He picks a fight with three toughs shooting pool, and it’s more than alarming to hear Swift scream for the men to stop stomping her boy. One never hears this audio in the finished version of the music video.
In episode three, Swift reveals that she couldn’t have filmed the ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ video — or even recorded the song — just two years ago. “I hadn’t realized that getting your heart broken isn’t only one person’s fault,” she says, looking weary from a full day’s worth of filming in the California desert. The chosen location was in a small town outside of Los Angeles. No one could get cell phone service as they filmed.
Mandler describes how his video pushes Swift in a direction fans aren’t used to, and the actress/singer embraces the danger in change. Along the way, one gets a better appreciation for the story she tells in her song from ‘Red,’ and also for what she has to go through on a day-to-day basis to avoid paparazzi. They’re lurking nearby in one of the clips.

Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen will join a host of stars for a planned tribute to late singer Whitney Houston on American TV network CBS.
Houston died last February after being found unconscious in a bathtub in her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel two days after making her last public appearance, a live duet with singer Kelly Price, and just 24-hours before the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, where she was due to perform.
The show, titled The Grammy's Will Go On: A Death in the Family, will focus on the efforts made by show producers and performers to cope with the shock news while cameras beamed the Grammy's live across the globe.
Swift and Springsteen will be joined onscreen by Katy Perry, LL Cool J, Dave Grohl, Joe Walsh and Bonnie Raitt, with each of them sharing their thoughts on Houston's sudden death at the age of 48.
The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles the following night.
An inquest into the singer's death ruled that she had died from 'accidental drowning,' although cocaine abuse and a heart condition were also thought to be contributing factors.

ALL THIS AND THE SUPERBOWL TOO>>>AWESOME DAY!!!
13. "Highway Don't Care" (featuring Taylor Swift) A take on freedom tinged with regret with McGraw's trademark sound, tasty licks from Keith Urban, and an inspired vocal from Taylor Swift. "There's a sultriness to it," says McGraw. "Taylor sang her ass off on that thing. This was also one of the first songs I found for this album, and I knew instantly I wanted Taylor on it. The great thing about that song is the perspective it's told from, her voice is the song coming through the radio. And Keith's guitar on there… man!"
