Adele Spills Who “Hello” Is About & Talks Taylor Swift
I'm so excited about Adele's new album. It was a complete surprise to me when Mike posted "Hello" on the radio thread recently. I've preordered it so I could get the first song. A Taylor/Adele duet....now THAT would be FUN. Two Chicks with 'tude (attitude)

Taylor Swift Voting For Donald Trump? Harry Styles Sexy Snapchat? (Rumor Patrol) Trump has banned Univision from his events. He's in a breach of contract lawsuit with them because they cancelled their coverage of Trump's beauty pageant because of his comments about immigrants.

Michael, I've had my break from all of this stuff so I'm good. Spent a couple of days this week shopping. Tuesday was restocking my pantry and freezer for winter which I know seems odd considering we live in Houston but old habits. It's something I did for all of my life for practical reasons and now it's just comforting. Wednesday was Christmas shopping, which I like to have done before Thanksgiving. With so many people on our lists in so many states, I like to take all my packages to the post office on Black Friday while everybody else is out shopping. It's the time when the lines are the shortest at the post office and when you can mail the cheapest possible way and they still get there soon enough that people can enjoy them under their trees. I have Ted's book on my Christmas list (along with the new Patricia Cornwell, the new Michael Connelly and the new Janet Evanovich) so I haven't read it yet but it sounded really on spot. We are being hacked constantly now. There seems to be no such thing as safe data. So the Russian plane was likely a missile...do they know if it was ground to air or air to air? Have you also read about the ever growing population of African refugees who have been trying to get into Europe for some time and now have massive camps on the border, hoping somehow they'll make it across? What frustrates me most about the global warming people is that they live in the fear that changes in the weather will cause global unrest because of drought, flooding and other weather events. Yet, here with are, with global unrest on a massive scale and to them, global warming is still the number one threat for them. It is, IMHO, a complete disconnect from reality. We are in a world of hurt Michael. I see this morning the (IMHO, manipulated) numbers are out for employment so the Fed can raise the dang rates. Something they should have done long ago but oh no, we've gotta keep that free money flowing. Now Europe is taking up the free money so the US Fed will try and seize whatever little bit of momentum they can to do what has to be done . Did I mention our 401K went down 9.8% this past quarter. It's still got a plus for the year so if people look at their statements and just see the year to date, they won't get too excited. I have our funds split pretty evenly across the board and one sector only lost 9.3% this past quarter...the other three were 9.8%. I have a link for an article that I think you'll find interesting so I'll include it here rather than on the news thread. www.wsj.com/articles/big-banks-to-americas-companies-we-dont-want-your-cash-1445161083?alg=y
Thanks Jo...I brought this post over to this page so I can dissect it better...so much thought and conversation topics here.
That Joey and Rory story has me a bit choked up today...lots of sadness in the world and she is handling her own problems so well.
I shoulda given myself more time to dissect this...and I will...in short order.
I have to go pick up another load of vinyl plank flooring...I have 80 boxes of it...picked up 48 yesterday.
The weight was 2200 pounds on my lil Ranger work truck...what a load.
Todays should be a lil less...poor truck...you just can't kill it....it loves to work.
I will honk again at the dealer who only offered my 500 bucks as a trade in...what a rooker!
Anyway Vinyl plank flooring is 100% waterproof...a new type of laminate...really ...exactly what I need.
So I only have a few projects going at once...I suppose that I need more work to keep my mind busy...it helps!
I also need to restock and start preparing for the winter...thanks for the advice on the post office on black Friday!
Whowouldathought...youneverknow!!!!

Shoot Michael, when I bought flooring a couple of years ago, I only bought 1,000 square feet and my car was so weighed down that I took those potholes slower than slow. Did you go with the longer planking or squares? When I redid the floors when we moved in about 15 or so years ago, squares were pretty much the thing but now they have those lovely, lovely three foot long planks that look so much better when you have them laid out. I just love Lumber Liquidators. I went all over the place looking for what I wanted in our budget and when I made it there, I knew I was in the right place. Happy flooring. ....and, the best tip I read before I redid my flooring this last time was to use a papercutter. Doesn't work on the squares but with the plank flooring, you can measure and then slide in right in and get a square cut quick and easy everytime. Awesome time saver.

Well thanks for the tip Jo...I see where Vinyl flooring is really easy to work with.
The planks are 4 foot long and 5 mm thick...they seem to be very heavy compared to our folks old linoleum.
I remember the story of mom and day renting a place above an old store in Denver in the 1940's.
Dad bought a roll of linoleum after work on payday and brought it home on the trolley car.
They put it down and drank coffee and ate biscuits and just stared at it into the wee hours.
Every time dad told the story he would tear up about how happy they were to be starting their life together.
Hopefully I will get the same feeling when I get this flooring down...somehow I don't think it will be the same.
He would go into such detail about the red color and the pretty design that it had...all I can say is that it is oak plank...lol
It is all stacked in the sunroom and may be there for quite some time...I do know that dad would be proud...that makes me happy enough!
Oh yes...it is from Lumber Liquidators too...I also felt the same way as you did when you got yours!
Here is the photo ... guess I am a bit proud after all...tearing up a bit! more later!

It turns out being Taylor Swift is really hard -- if you're not that Taylor Swift.
Take Taylor Adam Swift, a 30-year-old photographer living in Seattle. There was nothing unusual about his name for the first 20 years of his life. But around the time Taylor Swift released her first album in 2006, he explained to Mitch Pittman of KOMO 4 News in Seattle, he started to see his name everywhere.
"I was kinda like, OK, I should look into this," Swift explained. "So I started researching, I was like, 'OK, so she does country music, that's great. She writes her own music, that's awesome! She seems like a great person.'"
Of course, it's only gotten more intense from there. Swift said that he gets fan letters intended for the pop star all the time, both in the mail and, for a while, at the email address he's since had to change: taylorswift@gmail.com. References to his photographic career get buried under an avalanche of music results on Google. And he finds it impossible to tell anyone his name in person without prompting astonishment.
"There's that moment when they're like, wait, your name's actually Taylor Swift? Your real ... your whole ... your name's Taylor Swift," he told Pittman.
On the other hand, Swift says he likes sharing a name with the "Shake It Off" singer -- because of all that fan mail.
"It's a great confidence booster," Swift said. "It's like endless amounts of, 'You're so beautiful, you're so talented, you're a great role model, you have a beautiful voice.' And it's like, here I am, like, 'Thank you.'"
"There's way worse names to have," he laughed.

The stunt was aimed at a political rally where Hillary Clinton and Katy Perry — who the “Bad Blood” song has been reportedly written about — were set to take the same stage. O’Malley trails Hillary in both the polls and SNL appearances.
One thing is certain: “Bad Blood” does not refer to the relationship between Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj. After a brief Twitter squabble earlier this year, the two musicians have made amends. In fact, Taylor Swift is rumored to have supported Nicki Minaj in her feud with fellow female recording artist, Miley Cyrus.
Taylor Swift has had a banner year with her hits from the album 1989. Her current hit, “Wildest Dreams,” debuted at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this year, giving Taylor Swift a total of five songs that have launched as singles from the year-old album.
1 year old today!! #HappyBirthday1989
The awards have poured in for Taylor Swift this year thanks to her music. In addition to winning the most awards at this year’s VMAs, the artist also scored an Emmy for producing a behind-the-scenes look at the filming for “Blank Space.” The news was a shock to Taylor Swift, who admitted she thought it was a prank.
