That's great! and that's an awesome thing for you to do.. really your entire church the more you describe it the more incredible it sounds. Literally get the sense that, that is a group of people that not only remembers what they read, but most importantly bring the word to life through their actions, which is something you rarely see anymore.. refreshing to hear that. You guys collectively are really making a difference and should feel proud of yourselves! and awe, my Sister actually just started allergy shots herself about 2 months ago, she's severely allergic to quite a bit of things surprisingly.. she didn't know about most of it, so it was kind of shock. Just started the 1 shot per week schedule, per 3 years? <-- I think it is, anyway. Seems like lots of pokes, but if it works I guess its worth it! =] This past week for me have been pretty uneventful, unfortunately haha we've honestly been frozen here lately! Been in the Teens/Low 20s, much of the week and blanketed in Snow, so I haven't been out much. However, I started volunteering this week, so that was fun. I actually work with Elementary aged students in what's called a 'Sensory Motor Room', which is basically a room that focuses on the kids building up certain skills through participation in different stations, such as Scooters, Trampolines, and other little things like that. It's really fun for me, seeing how I went to that school back when it was still a Middle School, which makes me feel old! Haha I like it though! Beyond that, I haven't really done much besides engage myself in endless Netflix marathons. I'll be happy once the Snow goes away because then I'll get out quite a bit more.

Jeff, I didn't know you had a sister. Is she younger or older than you? Allergy shots have really helped me a lot. Most people only take them three to five years so hopefully she'll be done with them before she blinks. The shots aren't bad. Small needle and they don't go into tissue. They angle them so the serum goes just under your skin with a little bubble and then gets absorbed. Does your sister have mostly indoor or outdoor allergies? When it gets cold outside, I just want to stay inside where it's warm. I can picture you volunteering with kids Jeff. You have the right touch to put them at ease and to get them excited about what you are teaching them. They are lucky to have you. We all are. About those Netflix marathons. Hi, my name is Jolene and I'm a Netflix junkie. What are some of your favorite things to watch? Most recently I finished watching the Mysteries of Laura and season 4 of New Girl. Though I think New Girl had trouble finding its way this season. While I was icky this weekend, I went back to my old favorite MASH. Hadn't watched it in decades so it's all new to me again. Looking at my Netflix account now...also on my already watched list are Hart of Dixie, Fixer Upper, Grace and Frankie, a ton of romantic comedy movies, When Calls the Heart, Longmire, Young and Hungry, a bunch of Christian movies, Melissa and Joey, House Hunters, Cedar Cove...and more like all of those.

Hi Jo!
My Sister is actually older. She's 31, so there's about 3 years between us or around that. That's great that the Allergy shots have helped you! I'm not sure if she's gotten them long enough to notice any difference yet or not, but she isn't complaining about it, so it must be going okay so far =] She's actually allergic to a mix of things, which is a strange combination. Cats (which we have one) Rodents, and I believe Ragweed, but I'm not certain of the last thing, I do know, she mentioned 3 overall, though. Thank you so much, I feel so lucky to be there.. its a interesting experience, but I like it =] Haha I totally agree and can relate. I like Netflix alot too. My favorites that are permanently in my queue that I've seen over and over again completely are Buffy the Vampire Slayer and One tree Hill. (I'm in love with both of them haha) OTH, I'd recommend to anyone who was looking for a great show to watch! I too really like Young and Hungry, but I'm up to date on TV, so I haven't caught it there so far. Ghost Whisperer is a new discovery for me through Netflix (on Season 4 right now) so trying to drag it out, so it doesn't end haha Criminal Minds, House, and also waiting and waiting for Fuller House to come.. its taking forever! Haha I just started Making of a Murderer. (On episode 3) I'm not sure how I feel about it though.. it's a bit of a stretch overall, which I won't spoil anything in case it's something you might be interested iin!

Hi Jeff,
Big sisters are awesome. I had two growing up. : )
Cat dander is a tough thing to be allergic to because it's small and gets dragged deeper into your lungs than many other things do. Plus the darn protein (which is what dander is) lives for two years. Even if the cat isn't around, as long as the dander is alive you can still get a reaction to it.
Oh my gosh Jeff, I love, love, love, love, love Buffy. It's just been awhile since I watched the series. I completely binged on it. Then I watched all of Angel. Did you watch it too? I'll have to check out One Tree Hill. I just added it to my netflix list so I wouldn't forget.
Biting my tongue on Ghost Whisperer because I loved it too and don't want to drop any spoilers. I'll just say it was awesome until it ended.
I like the detective shows. I just watched the Mysteries of Laura.

Hey Jo!
That's cool, she's my only sibling, so I guess I'll keep her! Haha
and that's so interesting, I'm not sure if I'm allrgic.. it's never posed that much of an issue for me, so I've never been tested. I have basic allergies, but none beyond that. (That I know ot.. fingers crossed it stays that way!)
Buffy is TOTALLY my favorite.. I just finished season 1 (again) last week.. yes, I think I have a problem! Haha and I did watch Angel. It's funny because the shows are so different to me, even though much of the premise is the same. I honestly, didn't like it at 1st, but it grew on me toward seasons 3-5. I LOVED Fred/Illuria <-- toward the end of the show(Sp?) and Spike coming back was outstanding. I HATED the way they ended the show. I felt like the ended with a HUGE cliffhanger like it was for sure returning and it just stopped. So disappointing.
GW is awesome! Though not without some complaints I have based on what I've seen so far. I really didn't care for that the changed Ned's character/age range in the middle of the show. One minute he was a little kid and then we come back in Season 4 and all the sudden Ned is in HS, so weird! Beyond that, I think overall its a really good show.
I think you'll love OTH, once you get to see it!

Hiya Jeff,
It's always great to keep the people we love. Your sister is lucky to have you as a brother.
It took me a while to get used to Angel after Buffy too. It is very different. I just didn't want to miss out on any of the Buffy universe and it kinda sorta wove in and out...here and there.
I should watch Buffy again from the beginning. Late at night I like to watch shows I've seen before rather than shows I haven't seen before. It's so relaxing and then I'll go on to bed when I get sleepy.
I know this is silly but for my birthday last summer, hubby got me an Olaf pillow. For Christmas, he got me a little stuffed Snoopy (from Peanuts). Olaf and Snoopy take turns watching tv with me late at night. Hubby gets up at 4:30 every morning so the house is quiet by then. The world is so peaceful.
That is so very true about GW. You blink and it's years later. I always really liked Andrea and then when she was gone, it was just sad. Delia has her good points but I always missed Andrea...like she should still be there.
Are you supposed to get more bad weather in your neck of the woods Jeff?

I totally agree with you, it was nice to just get that continued story,, those characters become a part of your family in an odd way and it's nice to keep that connection alive! I went as far as to read the Buffy season 8 comics for a bit, but ehh.. that was okay, Just not really the same, but I tried! Haha and you totally should! Once you finish season 1, will be in the same spot and can watch together =] and aww, that doesn't seem silly to me.. gives you a little piece of him to hold onto when he's not there. I agree, I guess we just have to take GW for what it is.. a Supernatural thriller where we have to accept to the unexplained because well, that's what it is is as a whole. The unexpected. So far, so good on the weather front here, but I've heard rumblings of freezing rain tomorrow.. hope that's not true!

I didn't mean to be away so long. Got the usual winter crud and I'm having a hard time shaking it.
Did you get bad weather?
After we talked last time I started watching Buffy all over again on Netflix, starting with Season 1 again. You get so used to seeing them year after year that when you restart they seem so young again. So innocent compared to where it ended up.

Hi Jo!
Glad your back and feeling a bit better, it's going around for sure! It's literally cycled through my entire house and I'm just now starting to get past it after a week, so it does hang on for sure. We've been getting dumped on lately and it's so cold. I believe the wind chill is in the negatives, I think. They say we're supposed to stay unless necessary.. Good times! Haha Ahh.. The beginnings of the Buffy-verse, so beautiful and innocent, till it all hit the fan later haha Do you have a favorite season, overall?

Hiya Jeff,
I'm ready for spring, that's for sure.
I think season 2 is my favorite for Buffy. The last season is my least favorite. By then it's all so grim and dark. And Willow....wow she changed. I like the sweet Willow best.
I caught a headline today about Taylor's speech at the Grammy's. Was that about Kanye as the headline said or was that just the spin?

I completely agree, tired of cold weather.. just makes me want to hibernate! Lol And it's tough, my favorite season is probably Seasons 1 and maybe 2. I really wasn't much a fan of the mayor in season 3. 7 was okay, but it seemed kind of unfinished or rushed at the end. (In fairness though, not sure what else could be done) As for Tay's speech, I liked it. She's just as classy as always. Their was a little dig at the end.. In response to Kanye's garbage though. I can't blame her for it, just wish she and the media wouldn't entertain him and his words so much.

Hiya Jeff,
I'm on Season 3 of Buffy again now and Faith is in cahoots with the Mayor. Definitely not my favorite part of the storyline. I really dislike destruction and there's so much of it going on in season 3.
Did you read where a year or so ago the actress who played Faith was robbed at her hotel while she was in town for a Comic con? They stole her purse. Luckily it was filmed and they caught the guys who did it and she got her purse back.
Tay is always so classy.
I never understand the whole reality tv thing. Well, that's not completely true. I love Alaska, the Last Frontier. I should say that I don't understand the whole mean spirited nature of many reality tv shows.
Have you ever watched Alaska, the Last Frontier? It's the Kilcher family who are 2nd and 3rd generation homesteaders in Alaska. They had a tough year this past season though. Atz Lee (who is the singer Jewel's brother) fell off a cliff and he's lucky to have lived. Otto came close to dying. New birth though...Eiven and Eve had another new baby.
I love how resourceful they are.

Hey Jo! Sorry it took so long, sometimes I don't get the Proboard notifications.. they claim they aren't any when their actually around, so I miss them =[ I totally agree with the Buffy thing, it's almost like Season 3 was too unrealistic for me? If that makes any sense.. the Mayor was a jerk and Faith was extremely vulnerable yet, she stayed by his side anyway? It was just a tough storyline to buy into for me. No one really to support in that aspect. I totally understand and relate to the whole reality tv thing too! Most are just ridiculous.. and yet, people are so obsessed with those characters that they forget to live their own life and even mistake the portrayals for real people and thus attack them for what they see on the edited film, just sad. I have not ever seen that, but I LOVE Jewel! I'll have to look into the show now.. it's caught my interest! Haha Do you have a Facebook, Jo? It might be easier to find each other there =] www.facebook.com/jeffrey.vandyke (There's my link)
