We used to try to remember the words to this song and sing it at the top of our lungs under the train bridge while the trains passed.
Awesome Holy memory...

This is at the peak of their success...and he plays the washboard...Kora take notes!
He is really quite the man... makes you think that David Lee Roth stole his act! lol

Michael,
I suspected that Jim Dandy came by his conversationalist ways organically. : )
I never thought of "Don't Step On My Blue Suede Shoes" as a declaration of independence but Jim has it right...it is.

I love the way he always says...this here land is my land...and point to his feet. It is really kind of sad that one day you are playing for 300,000 folks and the next day you are playing for a waitress. I think that he is a prime example of someone playing for the love of it...certainly not the money. He will preach all night long after a show...he is a good Christian...praise the Dandy!

I wrote of John Mayall before...we watched me behind stage when I was a kid.
He was the genesis of so so many artists...if I had only knew then what I know now.
He had a lot of political songs...that cut to the truth...

But like a fine wind...John Mayall has gotten better with age.
So so so many roads....so many trains to ride!

I was a big supporter of the biggest white elephant that Memphis ever built...the Pyramid Arena.
I think that it is mostly empty...the accoustics were bad...they insulated the entire inside...still not good.
Doug Stone filmed this video there and they let everyone in for free...still have the doug bucks that they dropped.
I think that they did 10 takes of the same song...I guess the Doug Bucks was our pay.
That night was a ton of fun!

I remember going to the Country Music Songwriters Award show at the Opry.
John Berry was in competition against some of the 10 best country songs ever...early 90's
Your love amazes me... was one of the besst songs that I had ever heard.
I was vocal about it...and even made bets with ssome Navy buddies and even my wife was rooting for an Alan Jackson tune.
John wrote this song which put him at the top of my list...he won song of the year!
I even got to meet him and the other songwriters backstage at the Opry.
That is the night that Lorrie Morgan bumped me so hard that I thought her boobs would explude.
