Now here is Joanna Smith....who I think has the potential to be huge.
You could walk up to her on Broadway and she would just sing her heart out.
She gave me a bunch of demos and is still really trying...she is real...really.
I wish that Nashville would step up and just put her in the Opry already.
That is the difference of today's music compared to yesteryear's.
They would pick unknowns that they knew were great...and give them a home on the Opry.
The talent then was so much more devoted then than big star members of today... just passing through.

At a Nashville estate sale I picked up a Fender Jazz Bass guitar for 15 bucks...
It had a broken neck from who the lady said was used by the prop man in the movie Bye Bye Birdy.
Anyway I still have ole broke red...here is a clip...

You know folks ...there are movies that are scary...then there are movies that are too scary to be seen.
the following is one of those....seriously...my brother had nightmares for months afterwards.
This is just a clip ...my advice is do not watch.

Happy sigh....Amber, Joanna, Tex and ByeBye Birdie : )
I just wish "Farm Girl" was available to download. She's so good.
I could listen to Tex all day...love that man.
Scary movies....I avoid them. I've been known to be in the bathroom at the movie theater throwing up. Gave them up after that.

Quick story...
Traveling in my Ford pickup loaded with Sailor stuff to my next duty station.
I planned to stop in Cullman Alabama for the night...and see Hanks fan club.
They told me where this house was... where the video was filmed...I went.
A guy my age answered the door and showed me around...I took photos of everything.
The basement bar was very ...Hank...for sure...he had moved to Paris though.
Thats Paris Tennessee...pretty area....land between the lakes...anyway...

Now imagine going to the jukebox in a rough sailor bar and going to play...
Hank Williams Jr - All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight
but instead out of the jukebox comes...
Culture Club - Do You Really Want To Hurt Me.
A good sailor has only one choice...break the Jukebox...
One hundred dollars later I found out that the Jukebox was rigged.
You should have seen the guys wanting AC/DC and getting Babs!
That place made more on Jukebox repairs than anything else!

Now to finish this off...the first song that I would usually hit on the juke box was this...
David Allan Coe - Call Me By My Name
It was an instant whooooop song that everyone enjoyed!!!
