Here's the other Elton Britt Video from Jimmy Dean's TV Show in 1966. Just a note to say Elton Britt wrote this song as he did some of the others he recorded and also was a co-writer on some. He was a very talented man.

This is Elton Britt and his older brother Vernon. They came from a musical family. Their dad was a Champion fiddler Elton Britt played a guitar and it was said he could play with the best of them. His brother played a fiddle.

I love the fact that Elton Britt sings with such emotion....especially when he sings the sad songs.

Jane,
"Don't It Make You Want To Go Home" takes me way back. I don't think I've heard that song since I was a kid. Elton does it so beautifully.

This is a "live" version of "Chime Bells" that Elton did pretty early in the morning and I think he was playing with his audience clearing his voice. Sounded like he got out of breath just a little at the very end of his yodel. I don't even know how he could yodel at all early in the morning. I know I have a little problem with just singing in Church in the morning especially when the song leader pitches a song too high.

Elton Britt's son Jeb had so much love for his father that when he died he just literally went to pieces. It's such a heart-breaking story, but his life turns out good in the end. By the way...if anyone doesn't know.... Elton Britt was born James Elton Baker. I have never known of anyone that had so much love for a parent as Jeb did for his father. He idolized him! Here's the link if you'd like to read it. www1.cbn.com/700club/jeb-britt-baker-search-heavenly-fatherHe tells his story in full detail in a video that I would post if I wasn't on my Kindle.
