Tanya Tucker and Lorianne Crook was my first country crushes.
The reason that I posted the album TNT was that my BIL was her road manager during this tour.
Bob said that she was a real handful on the road...she is a true hell raiser.
Needless to say he moved up and left Tanya Tucker for managing the Doobie Brothers and War.
He still has a lot of momentoes from this era...from Far Out Productions.
Tanya Tucker - Texas (When I Die) .
Oh look who has been influenced by Tanya!!!

When folks ask me where to go when they visit Nashville...I always send them here.
I don't know why...but this place is very special.
Nashville Country Stars Burial Site.Spring Hill Cemetery..
I could spend a week or two just walking around in such peace and such soul!

I've always loved Tanya. I have all her music and there are days when I play her all day long. Miranda is so young there...such a cutie. The cemetery video is so peaceful. Beautiful. Ed Bruce wrote so many great songs, including "Texas When I Die". This song of Ed's haunts me ..and this one had me fall in love with him completely.... ....but there's always.... ...the man could write songs...and his voice ...I can listen to him for hours and hours and hours.

Wow...Ed Bruce...I believe that he was the water of Texas. Got me to wondering...why is there so much good music from Texas? It really overwhelmed me of all the talent from Texas and its dusty ole brother Oklahoma. Thank you so much for jogging my memory Jo...I need it a lot lately.

I was reading somewhere...all right...I admit it I can read...not very well...but some.
The smartest folks on Earth claimed that there was no such thing as time...it is a manmade thing.
They figure that since there is no end to space...no up or down...then time is the moment right now...only.
There is no history...there is no future...only now? This kinda makes sense...but I don't want to know.
Really I am fine with what I have been raised to believe...I'll let those folks stretch their brain for me.
Dad used to tell me...you will make lots of mistakes in your life...no doubt
but if you listen closely to those who have already made them...you can veer away from the same mistakes.
I don't know...this voice that screams in my head a lot has led me just to where I should be.
^^^Did I say that aloud?

So with all that said I figure some of my musical memories are right now.
Makes no sense...and I wont try to figure it out.
Now about country music...are these country folk living the life?
Or as I suspect...living in some sub division somewhere...
living off the man instead of the land.
Do they really have these tailgate parties...if so...why was I never invited.
To tell the truth...their tailgate parties were nothing compared to the ones we threw.
Everyone running around in tire smoke...fighting in back seats and on the edge of a bluff.
We ran out of tires one night and some bozo offered up his whole car to the cause...that was cool.
Anyway if Aldean or anyone of his boys lived it...really lived it...then that is O.K.
But....I have a feeling that a lot of them fellers are drugstore cowboys...oh here it is.

I will post that story on the connection...but it is a good one...stay tuned.
Now...back to one...if time is man made...and music is manufactured...why not try something new.
I remember when I knew it all...in my 20's...been downhill every since.
Guess the kids today figured why not write songs about their lives...
no matter how depressing...write songs about the truth of their lives.
Imagine that...it takes a couple decades before some kid knocks you upside the head with good music.
I remember being that kid trying to play some Rolling Stones over my dads Jim Reeves.
He had the Curtis Mathis console vs my lil record player.
Sometimes it is good to be totally open minded and forget about time.
How can you forget what you have never really done...brain freeze! lol

So with the prior justification let me introduce you to my latest musical memory.
Lorde
"Royals"
[Verse 1] I've never seen a diamond in the flesh I cut my teeth on wedding rings in the movies And I'm not proud of my address, In a torn-up town, no postcode envy
But every song's like gold teeth, grey goose, trippin' in the bathroom Blood stains, ball gowns, trashin' the hotel room, We don't care, we're driving Cadillacs in our dreams. But everybody's like Cristal, Maybach, diamonds on your timepiece. Jet planes, islands, tigers on a gold leash. We don't care, we aren't caught up in your love affair.
And we'll never be royals (royals). It don't run in our blood, That kind of luxe just ain't for us. We crave a different kind of buzz. Let me be your ruler (ruler), You can call me queen Bee And baby I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule. Let me live that fantasy.
[Verse 2] My friends and I—we've cracked the code. We count our dollars on the train to the party. And everyone who knows us knows that we're fine with this, We didn't come from money.
But every song's like gold teeth, grey goose, trippin' in the bathroom. Blood stains, ball gowns, trashin' the hotel room, We don't care, we're driving Cadillacs in our dreams. But everybody's like Cristal, Maybach, diamonds on your timepiece. Jet planes, islands, tigers on a gold leash We don't care, we aren't caught up in your love affair

Ooh ooh oh We're bigger than we ever dreamed, And I'm in love with being queen. Ooh ooh oh Life is great without a care We aren't caught up in your love affair.
And we'll never be royals (royals). It don't run in our blood That kind of luxe just ain't for us. We crave a different kind of buzz Let me be your ruler (ruler), You can call me queen Bee And baby I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule. Let me live that fantasy

So with the name Lorde singing about Royalty ...hanging around US royalty TS.
Seems that this is living proof that if you think about something hard enough...
it can come true...and in this case did come true...!

Wow...now wasn't that the worst video that you have ever seen...other videos are even worse?
I like the songs...but people depend too much on visuals...other peoples visuals.
I prefer my mind to have it's own showing room.

Kinda thinking about live music...friends...family...things.
Then I thought about this song...
There ain't nothing in this world worth fighting over...just give it away!

My very first girlfriend was named Doreen Himasillo...we would ride the bus together in the 6th grade.
We would even sit in the same seat...on the back row...just talking.
When we got home we would get on the phone for hours...amazing how things change but remain the same?
Anyway we would put on a record and put the phone up to it and share music that way.
When the sixth grade was over...we were bussed to different areas and I never heard from her again.
I had a note that I carried in my wallet from her...that said "love" on it.
My brother read it once and things were never the same...ole love butt here.
back then it was not funny...nosirreee

I remember it...not what it said...but what it was.
here is one of the songs that I would play on the telephone.
America - A horse with no name
