Today my thought of the day is ....
Keeping all those affected by Hurricane Dorian in my thoughts and prayers. I keep thinking about the people on the Bahama Islands and how awful it is for them.
If you have any particular thought of the day, feel free to add it in.

Last night I was listening to ZNS Bahamas live stream online. People were calling in asking to be rescued with their information. There wasn't any rescue possible. Earlier attempts had led to the rescuers swimming for their own survival after losing a fire truck to the water. Darn storm has been stationary over Grand Bahama Island for close to 24 hours now. On air people were trying so hard not to cry but there were and are lots of tears and prayers.
My thought for today is that I didn't know that the Bahamas were such a strongly Christian nation. ZNS is the government station and they were reading the Bible on the air.
On this Tuesday that feels like a Monday, I'm thankful that God provides comfort to those in harm's way.
Edited to add. On ZNS last night, among the many images were trucks loaded with boxes stamped “US AID”.

Wednesday...I’m continuing to keep everyone affected by Dorian, Ferdinand and Gabrielle in my thoughts and prayers. Be safe. Let’s hope they don’t need to use the names Humberto and Imelda for the other two areas of concern.
I read this morning that the majority of music being streamed now is catalog music. Streaming services are now leaning into that.
I don’t really know what that says about new music since I haven’t listened to the radio in years now. I’m not disrespecting new music trends. How could I when I haven’t listened to the music? I had reached the saturation point with so much music I already love that I just leaned into what I already own.
I do follow the new music of the artists I have long loved and I pick up a new favorite here and there.
Looking forward to new music as we approach a lot of release dates for the holidays.

Thursday....that dad gum Dorian is being a very, very bad him-a-cane. Be safe.
This morning I'm waiting on the plumber to install our new kitchen faucet. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.
Definitely a good day to do laundry since I'll be home.

Friday...The electric companies are still asking us to use less energy because of the extreme heat. Looking forward to the time when it starts to cool off here. Usually the leaves really fall off the trees around the first of November. Got a new stack of books from the library yesterday. Stayed up too late reading one of them last night.

Saturday...and I'm so glad Dorian is finally out to sea. Prayers for all those who have been impacted.
Last night I talked to an old friend on the phone for a couple of hours. She recently had foot surgery for an injury she received at work. Turns out workman's comp required her to return to work 4 days after her surgery. It's working out though she has to sit in an office and have people bring work to her. Sure does slow down sorting the mail.
I should be working on covering coffee cans with Christmas paper/decorations for the annual cookie sale today since I brought home about 50 cans from church yesterday to decorate but I think I'll listen to music instead. Perhaps happy music.

Sunday...and the topic today at church was human trafficking. They arrested 74 people for human trafficking in July in our county and another 7 last week. They are having classes for the next few weeks as a new mission. Mostly it's to learn about the issue and put together immediate need bags for the people rescued from the traffickers. A change of clothes and hygiene products.
Prostitution thrives as it always has.

Monday...and I did a little bit of shopping today. I'm having a low spend month so I'm just buying fresh fruits and veggies. Produce sure has been awful this summer. I read that farmer's have had so much rain in the past year that the companies who make tin cans for vegetables figure they'll sell a billion fewer cans to the food manufacturers this yearFood manufacturers have stockpiles of canned goods. No shortage there but probably fewer canned food sales this year.
Anyway...I spent $13 at the store. Got bananas, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red grapes, mini sweet peppers and ...saving the treat for last....a package of three caramel apples with little chocolate chips on them. Having one of those for dessert tonight. Sure am looking forward to it.

Tuesday....kinda got lost in classic Martina McBride. She has so many wonderful songs it's hard to narrow it down. Saw her in concert a year or so ago. Her husband was running the sound board one row ahead of us. She's even better live.
Normal day here. Allergy shots, tire light came on so I stopped by Discount Tire for a free air check. Have some salmon thawing for supper. Thinking about roasting a few potatoes to go with it. Leaning toward cucumber slices.
Hope your day is a good one.

Wednesday...and it's 9/11. Choir practice starts back for hubby this evening. They have the summer off and people do special music each Sunday. Thinking about chef salad for supper. A rainy day here and it's cooled off.

Thursday...and it looks like Florida is looking at another storm. If named (now 70% chance in 48 hours and 80% chance in 5 days) it will be Humberto. I'm keeping everyone in my prayers.
I think today I'll go through my closet and see what there is to donate. After Harvey people donated so much that it's created less merchandise in the thrift stores here, including the one connected to the ministry/food pantry I volunteer at. It's kinda opposite of the Marie Kondo effect on thrift stores nationwide. Kondo fans have been purging their closets, only keeping items which bring them joy, and thrift stores nationwide have been turning away donations because there's just no place to house it all.
So....if you are a Kondo fan and feel like donating, hurricanes and their aftermath create regional second lives for your stuff. : )

Friday the 13th and it looks like the latest storm is going to turn a u-turn and go out to sea. Yeah.
I had a stray thought about Country Weekly last night and looked them up online. Turns out there hasn't been a CW since 2016. That was a surprise to me.
I had read an article yesterday that the banking industry has run out of people who are good credit risks to loan money to. Their solution is to change the metrics of what shows you are a good credit risk. They've decided that having magazine subscriptions are something to consider. Great....here we go again. Dang banking industry.

Saturday....and I so don't want to think about the weather today. Storms, storms stay away...don't come back any day.
In other news,Ken Burns latest series will start airing very soon. It's on the arc of Country Music but people have been saying the cut off may have been in the 1990's. Not sure if that parts true or not.

Sunday....and the day got away from me. Took a nap after church which was awesome. I have an exerciser that I use every day to keep an ankle I broke 30 years ago from getting stiff. I usually use that time to also listen to music. Today I was listening to a book on Cd from the library. Usually I get books in printed form. Guess I didn’t pay attention when I put this one on hold.

On Monday I turned up the music and cleaned house all day.
Today is Tuesday and when I went out the door this morning there was a 10% chance of a tropical storm. Now Imelda made landfall a couple of hours ago and is working her way toward us. At least she's only a tropical storm...but dang.
Keeping the folks in Bermuda in my prayers as Humberto goes by just west of them.
#10 will probably become Jerry before we know it. He's already a depression.
After Jerry would be Karen.
