Jolene, thank you so much for your prayers and concern. Our sons and the oldest one and his wife have been a blessing to us. They do all our grocery shopping for us. They don't want us to get out. Personally I only know one family at church that got that virus, but they are all doing well now.
Hope your allergies are doing better. I haven't had allergies in years.
I tried to put a video on Elton Britt's thread, but it didn't work. It's a Jimmy Dean TV Show, but Elton Britt was a guest on it....back in 1965. He was also on one of his 1966 TV Shows, also, but I haven't found it.

Jane,
I'm glad your church family folks are getting better.
I've quit following the numbers but last I looked there were around 10,000 cases in the Houston metro area and about 1,500 cases in our county. There are folks all around us who have died though not anyone in our inner circle. People in our online nextdoor neighborhood have lost several members of their families.
Your family is right. Grocery stores aren't a great place to be now. An employee at the HEB nearest us died and another employee at the HEB 10 miles from us died. A couple who hadn't been out anywhere in weeks got ill after visiting the grocery store. The wife was hospitalized the next day and died 3 days later. The husband lasted 10 days before he passed. People a couple of blocks from us had the husband fight it for 23 days and he's better now but the cousin died last week.
It's a good time to enjoy the bluebonnets. : )

From our county news email this morning:
"It took us almost two months to get to our first thousand cases," Minter said during the meeting. "It took about six weeks to get to the next thousand, and about three weeks to get to the next thousand. In the last week, we logged another thousand."
Be safe and stay well.

Please keep the folks in south Texas and the Rio Grande Valley in your thoughts and prayers. South Texas has Tropical Storm Hanna headed their way. The Rio Grande Valley is in a world of hurt with the virus.
Be safe and well.

Jolene, good to see you've been on here very recently. Our son and his wife are down there right now and are staying 2 days later than they had planned.....mainly just to watch the storm. I told him he was crazy! He is supposed to go in the hospital Monday for an operation. I would appreciate it if you said a prayer for him and thank you in advance if you do. His name is Darrell. By the way....I don't know if I've mentioned the fact that I now have 4 Great-grandchildren. Our grandson and his wife now have 2 girls and 2 boys. The girls were born first and then the two boys. The youngest one is a little over a year old. They are ALL KEEPERS! Just PRECIOUS! Also, I posted that Jimmy Dean TV Show with Elton Britt on it not realizing they are both the whole show. I keep thinking I sure wish I would had the opportunity to have seen him in concert before he passed away. Also, the same with Jim Reeves. I wish I knew where and how I could get that TV Show on a DVD. Also the one from 1966 that Elton was on. The one posted was done in 1965. Elton Britt just never got the credit he deserved. I really liked what Jimmy Dean told him and the audience what he did. I know Elton really appreciated it!

Jane,
I'm so glad to see you. I hope you've been feeling better. The last time we talked you were under the weather.
I've said a prayer for Darrell and his wife and will keep him in my prayers as he has his operation. I watched some storm footage earlier this morning and it's heartbreaking. Hanna was insistent that she wanted to stay a hurricane for quite a long time. She was very close to being a Cat 2 when she made landfall.
When those babies are your great-grandchildren I know they're keeper. You have always been a keeper and that kind of love carries through generations. : )
We've lost so many people who country music who did so many wonderful things. They live on in our hearts forever. And in our ears, whenever we get the chance to hear them again. : )

Jane....keep an eye out for Isaias. Early signs aren't good. He popped up on the radar off the coast of Africa as a wave a bit over a day ago and now the odds are 70% for 48 hours and 90% for 5 days. Still way out there but the Gulf temps are all over 80 degrees. It's a tinderbox.

This close to Christmas things are usually full of sweetness as we celebrate the season.
I think we all keep working on that and I hope we are mostly succeeding.
All the rest, and I think it's the same for almost everyone now, the friends and family who have COVID, the people we know who didn't survive it ... there are no words.
Be well. Stay Safe. May the blessings of Christmas walk with you.
